I was in the audience that day at the ASCAP EXPO. The energy was unreal when she told the Show Me Love story. Everyone was shocked, and it was so obvious the voice is uniquely hers! I will never forget it. I was devastated to hear of her passing. Rest Easy.

@@irishpaddy555Not saying it was her on the final release, sorry if it reads that way. She wrote and essentially vocal produced that song. Her vocal style is very unique. The singer covered her demo vocal perfectly.

I disagree, Andrea was well known in the industry as a huge songwriter. Not so much as an artist.

Its definitely robin s on the original track, Andrea did the demo but thats common for another singer to record a demo and then for labels to shop around the demo. Robin S talked about how she was sick when she recorded Show Me love.
@@fleas.8624 they kept Andrea’s opening in. The whole part she sang is the part they kept in the final song and Robin comes on “Heartbreak promises”. You can hear the difference in the voices

2023 and I'm just now finding out who this talented vocal great was/is.
Oh my goodness, just a couple of weeks ago I was listening to "Return the Favor". A note she sings before the bridge kept triggering this 90s song from my childhood in my head. I knew it was a dance song becuase I could still remember the beat. I played that part over and over, trying to jog my memory so I can search for the song. I remembered a few words and I started searching. The song was "Show Me Love". I said to myself, oh this lady sings like Andrea Martin. Maybe Andrea was influenced by her. And that was it.
I absolutely had no idea about the history behind the song. May her soul RIP❤
Her with Organized Noize, singing, Set it off, loved that sooooo much. Andrea was such an under dog. She worked closely with Lauryn Hill in Lauryns early days, they wrote some wonderful music together.

But the info she's giving here is great! Love this! A good rule of life is if 'ONE' something is bad its not just then that one instance, but a pattern or system of things. How many more Artist out there have put in the work, but were not credited, paid or have possibly been even threaten to keep quite about it?
