hi there, robert here from Sydney Australia.
May I offer a constructive criticism. I had a hard time seeing the braid and leader against the blue background. For practical purpose may I suggest using twine or string so that we can clearly see how the knot is tied. At my age of 71 I'm all for simple knots.
Thanking you,
Robert
I totally agree with you. I will have a video soon on how to tie my teaser rig and will show this knot again using twine! Thanks for your comment brother!
That first knot reminds me of the surgeons knot
.... This is a Surgeons knot with 2 extra wraps ... works good for 2 lines of same diameter ... but will slip if leader is smaller diameter ... a Double Uni is best for building or attaching leaders ...
That’s a surgeons knot. That’s what I use to tie leader line. I’m surprised it’s not more popular. It’s super super easy and in my experience it’s very strong
Heck yeah! Thanks for the comment brother!
You know what the loneliest bayou is?
Bayou self.😂
Bet you never heard that one before🤣
Thanks for the helpful video, and Hello from the Northshore.
lol, that's awesome! Thanks!
Great tip capt.
Thanks brother!
Thanks for the great info.
Yes sir! Thanks for your comment!
Boom!! Thank you brother!
Definitely brother, it’s an easy knot to tie quickly, and hasn’t failed me yet!
Always great tips!
Thanks brother!
believe it is a surgeons knot. I was taught how to tie it at a fly and tackle shop in New Mexico. Have used it for years and don't think it ever has failed at the knot. Only disadvantage is that you cannot tie with the leader material still on the spool. You have to cut the line.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
The jig knot was developed by Rapala to give their lures more side to side action and has always been known as the Rapala knot.
Very good knot thanks I enjoyed your video
Thanks for commenting!
Awesome! I can’t tie a knot to save my life. There is hope for this one! Thanks. God Bless.
Lol! I’ll have another video out soon tying my teaser rig for flounder and I will tie this knot again with better lighting and bigger line. Thanks for your comment brother!
3 (or 4 turn in your case ) surgeon knot. Fast and strong. Been broke off but knot hasn't failed me yet.
Just tried it and I love it! 50lbs mono to 15lbs braid! Spanish won’t cut me off again!
Thx
Heck yeah brother! Appreciate the comment, thanks!
You’re awesome buddy!!
I’m glad you are showin people how to tie but come on get back to catchin those big ole flatties!! Woooowooooo!!!
Love those videos !!👍🏼👍🏼god bless
Thanks brother! Got some flatty catching for you tomorrow morning, lol!
Good knot
Thanks, I love it!
So in other words, it’s a quad surgeon not
I don't know, possibly?
What Duane said. Called that because MD’s use it a lot. And I use it too, so here is a Yankee’s seal of approval. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Cool, thanks! So it’s a surgeon knot with two extra wraps, good to know!
Can’t see lines being tied
Sorry about that, I plan on doing a retake this week with bigger line and better lighting!
Surgeon knot with extra turns. I use when I need to tie up fast but this is not as friendly going though the rod tip. Good quick knot though and I agree, - it is strong
I hate tying leader to braid. I tried this simple knot the other day and it worked great for my use. It will be my go to. Thanks for sharing
I definitely love it as well! Thanks for your comment!
That is just two more loops than a surgeons knot. Used surgeon knot on fly leader for years.
It's called a surgeon's knot
Hey Bandit, I'm super intrigued by the knot. Can you cast that knot thru guides?
Absolutely! I have micro guides on my custom flounder rod and it works great!
That first knot is going to have a big profile.
Been using this for years. It’s not as big as you may think.
Surgeon's Knot x 2
So I’ve been told, lol! I love that knot!
Have you tried I read Philip knot
I started using this knot (3turns) for tying fly fishing leaders in England, I now live in Australia and use it for my lure fishing with 5 turns. Very strong and as the fluro tag is pointing “backwards” it goes easily through the guides. I’d like to see a strength test compared to the FG knot.
Thanks for commenting brother, it is definitely my favorite and very strong indeed!
I’ve passed you on the causeway headed west , I’m headed east the last couple of weeks in the afternoon. ( can’t miss that big blue boat). Were you putting in on those days? Thanks for the great content by the way
Lol, heck yeah! Location just depends on conditions, Moss Point on Friday.
I'm gonna try that! I tie the FG knot but my fingers don't work like they used too.
Heck yeah brother, I was a big double uni guy until I started using this one! Very quick and hasn't failed me yet!
Love that knot. And the mod Albright and the modified Alberto, and the Uni, and double Uni. I’ve got serious arthritis. And had a mild stroke. I find the FG, GT and complicated knots a royal PITA. IMHO, the F in ‘FG’ name, stands for something that should not be said in decent company. I’ve fished since I was 4 years old (1955) and I can tie those acronym knots. But why should I? If I’m offshore and fishing for big tuna, marlin, Goliath, then maybe I’ll take the time to use those knots. But when we have such great knots like the surgeons, Albright, modified Albright, double uni, Alberto and others, i don’t wast my time on those AC KNOTS. (AC-Acronym) puzzle knots.
I’ll never tie anything else for inshore fishing. To be so quick and simple, I’m amazed at how strong it is and how effortlessly it goes there the rod guides.
Look like figured 8.
Gotta wonder about a 5:50 video to teach a “5 second” knot.
Question about Suzuki motor gauges. My port gauge is throwing a “Check gauge C.” message. Have you encountered this? Motor starts and runs but shows no engine functions. Gauge shows engine is neutral even if in gear.
Sorry brother, I have had no issues!
Wish you'd redo this vid with larger easy to see lines. I couldn't see the line in your left hand at all.
Yes, the video did not show the braided line that well. I plan on showing another knot on my channel soon and I will use larger line and include this knot again in the video as well. Sorry about that, it looked good in my editing software but not in the actual video.
Do any of you use the blood knot to tie braid to floroucarbon?
I don’t
It´s called the four turn water knot (and it has been around for ages).
Official names include surgeons knot, four turn water knot
That is a triple surgeon`s knot with an extra turn. I have been using the triple surgeon`s knot for tying my braid to fluorocarbon for several years, without any problems. Thanks for the video.
That’s what I’ve been told, I love this knot as well, thanks for commenting!
Isn't that the Surgeon knot?
Are u pulling both lines or just one?
Both of them
surgeons loop
Looks like the Kreh leader knot but not as easy to tie 😢
Why snip your tag ends so short?
So it doesn’t drag on the rod guides, less friction equals a longer cast! This knot doesn’t slip, so no need to have them long
We can agree to disagree
Seems like a sokkou knot.
Just a double surgeon's knot.
For me that Knot is too thick. The FG Knot...👍🏻
can't see good
Bandit? lol. There’s only 1 bandit. Bert Renolds
He’s the OG bandit. I’m the Bayou Bandit, lol!
@@bayoubanditcharters I’m just a fooling ya That you so much for your educational videos
Lol, yes sir! Appreciate the comment!
@@bayoubanditcharters so I went yesterday to buy boat yesterday. I did buy it and in the contract they added they would fix the issues. So with the 2009 Suzuki 250 4S she was working good until 32 mph then was bogging out and was sending an alarm. Tachometer didn’t work. I sent the video to a marine mechanic and he said prop too small. It looks like the factory one. I didn’t read numbers on it. Just guessing what do you think? Ty. Robby
@@bayoubanditcharters bty. 21 pitch
What does what's up everybody mean. Is it USA overkill for Hello. At least you say everybody and not ignore Gals by saying Guys😢
Lol, Just a big energetic hello and how are you brother! Where are you from?
@@bayoubanditcharters England before it was Demographicly destroyed.
Cool brother, thanks for watching and commenting!
So just what planet are you from? Lol.
