My wife is from Wisconsin, every time we would go to visit her home, Wisconsin Deathtrip album is going on blast! Loud as can be! Also was before bedtime dance with eldest daughter. They're great!

As a big fan of Industrial music and 90s Nu Metal. Static-X came along and blew my mind!! The Wisconsin Death Trip album is definitely in my top 5.
His wife committed suicide shortly after Wayne's death, so sad!

Used to LOVE Static-X back in the early 2000s. Met them. It was the highlight of that time in my life. (That was before I was a metal critic, so I still got starstruck by meeting bands.) Still blast the Wisconsin Death Trip album from time to time. SO much nostalgia! And yes, Wayne passed away from an overdose.

Best memory of wayne was at ozzfest 2007 at the signing booth. A drunk dude kept yelling at wayne interrupting him when he was meeting fans. After about 15 min of this dude yelling " Wayne come here" he turned around and obliterated the guy to where the guy almost cried. One of the greatest memories, we all laughed. R.I.P. WAYNE STATIC

This is the first band I took my brother to see back at the Family Values tour 2001 with STP, Linkin Park, and Staind. All I remember is Static-X has constant strobe lights and was loud as fuck.
It's crazy 3 out of 4 of the lead singers are dead now.
I think the Trance is in Motion is my favorite song off that first record of theirs.
I think they're more in the same category as Powerman 5000

"Push It" isn't about scat but ironically there is a song also on Wisconsin Death Trip called "Love Dump"

Y’all opened up a can of worms with this one. Static x was iconic. 2019 I went to their show, it was the anniversary of the album this song was on. They resurrected Wayne and are on tour now. Gotta check it out. So many great songs by this band.

Way back in the day I saw Static-X/Powerman 5000/Dope at some small club in Hollywood. It was one of the best, loudest and sweatiest concerts I've ever been too. Static-X was fucking great.
I love the mechanical sounding simple riffs of Fear Factory and Static X, i hope you check out more of them.
Definitely look at Black and White, it's probably their best known song.

As someone in recovery I can totally get how talented people can go that way. It can be hard to get a fix when you have no money, then you've got way more money than you every dreamt of. So its so easy to get a fix now you can easily over do it. Do a show kill it then go party like a "rock star".. R.I.P. to all the lost legendary rockers!!

static-x was my first concert ever, 18 yrs old back in 1999, dallas tx
They were amazing in concert! I had the privilege to see them 2xs, first at OzzFest '99, and again sometime later with Fear Factory at the now defunct Roseland Ballroom in NYC.
@@exquisitesplendor7175 i agree! i saw them again in 2001 right after their 2nd album Machine came out, and to this day i tell people that of all the concerts i’ve ever seen, nobody ever sounded as close to their cd as static-x did
They were so live. So glad I got to see them in a small venue up close. So awesome. Couldn't move my neck the next day though.
@@theusualidiot124 I hear you. The measure of band's talent, or lack thereof, is on the stage, where the magic of the studio cannot go. One band that is better live than in the studio is Epica. If you don't know them, check out Epic's studio track, Consign to Oblivion, followed by the live performances at Retrospect, and The Zenith, which you can watch on YT, many people think the live performances are better, myself included.

I grew up on all the relevant bands of the 2000's and late 90's most notably from the 90s was failures fantastic planet. When I turned 16 I got into a whole new relm of rock music and stopped using my double bass. Currently in the process of moving and starting another band with an old friend of mine! I don't listen to anything recent or nu metal related. Very little very

Hey shout out to you guys for playing one of my fav bands Static-X! So, if you are into the hip hop/rap scene, but also enjoy rock/metal then you’d love Static-X. Two great albums are Wisconsin Death Trip and Machine. It’s not rap or hip hop but the rhythms+vocals=fire. Great band! Wayne Static was a talented musical genius. He used to be in a band with Billy Corgan back in the day... and you may have seen him playing guitar in the vid for the X-Ecutioners (who were hip hop DJs in the early 2000s)... and he also had a song on the Queen of the Damned Soundtrack. RIP Wanye
...as for Bone Thugz, they got into some hot water for their whole Ouija board/occult influences when they first came out. I ❤️Bone but you know black people, we don’t play around with that stuff! Bizzy said in an interview that the industry folks tried to get them to sell their soul but they didn’t.
They have some amazing tracks. One of the most slept on bands in history. Glad I got to c these guys twice.

@@Hollywood6IX it was back when the band first started. An interviewer asked the band what what kind of music they played. I forget who exactly said it but one member said, “we are a disco band”, another one said, “we are a evil band”, and to keep the joke going the last one said, “we are an evil disco band”. Thus evil disco was born.

I had the pleasure of seeing Static-X here in El Paso TX at the Texas tattoo showdown back in 2012. front row. was a really amazing show!!! I am also heartbroken because I had wayne sign a giant #1 foam finger and my brother threw it out while i was moving houses back in 2015... Yes, Wayne Static unfortunately passed away on Halloween a handful of years back. I first saw them at Ozzfest back in 99 and I became an instant fan. It’s funny you say he looks familiar cuz I always thought he looked a bit like Matt Hardy 😆
This is a great and simple song to play when learning guitar. Tune your guitar Drop C and just jam out. Good stuff. Brilliant.

I got to to see the original line-up (minus Wayne, RIP) in 2019 on their anniversary/tribute tour, and it was my first and only time seeing Static X and the show. Was. FUCKING. E P I C ! ! Also, as others have said, this is one of those albums where the entire album is amazing. Think Master of Puppets, Appetite for Destruction, or 10000 Days.
I love this band! I really hope you do more Static-X. They have so many awesome songs but I'll suggest one of my favorites. "Machine" it's a heavy driving song I think you two will like it.

I've seen these guys 24 times through the years. By far my favorite indudtrial metal band. First time I saw these guys was in a tiny club in London, Ontario, Canada with Fear Factory and System of a Down. You guys should check out Dope, a band they toured with extensively over the years. Check out Wednesday 13 too. Awesome high energy bands!

Wayne passed the night before he was going to go on tour to promote his solo album. Very sad. I love Static!!! When I go on a 9-12 mile run they are the only thing I listen to. It just puts me in that zone.
