I have gotten a lot of great tricks and tips off Kevin's channel, their solid. One trick I used to use for tape residue before I modified my scoop coater was to use Goop Be Gone and a scrub pad and it would really work well without much elbow grease.
Definitely going to be doing this one
I also used a Gold-Up coater and buffed the edge with my Dremel with a 220 bit then hand finished with 400 grit, worked perfect. On shirt side of screen I used screen filler and haven't used any tape since.
@bobadams8434 I like that 400 grit idea
I did the same thing with the same coater from goldup ... I love it ... but the first time I didn’t burr my edges as good as I thought and coated one side , flipped the screen and coated it all the way to the top and POP! 😂😂 ... I used contact cement for glue on mine and been going strong .. thanks for not being scared to show and do mods 🤙🏾
Contact cement... Hummm... I'll have to try that next time I see small hole in my screen. Thanks for watching and for the cement idea
@@KevinAcker contact cement to glue the end cap sillyyyy😹... the screen mesh was trashed.. along with the 2 coats of emulsion... big ol mess I made lol..
@@Factory928AC hahaha 🤣🤣 you totally threw me for a loop... Now it makes more sense to me 😂😂
there is a product called LIQUID TAPE that some use to go around the edges of their clean screens, when dried they never come off, and you never have to tape again.
This is true... I actually looked into doing that a few years back until I seen the price of it. And Cam from the print life has a good video about the liquid tape and the pros and cons of it.
Do you not find SmartMesh screens fragile when you get to the higher mesh counts.
@bobadams8434 Yes they are. I just found a guy that will make them 3 newtons higher. It will make it even more fragile but the tighter the screens better the prints. But yes you definitely have to slow down when handling them
I could be wrong but these screens look like Gold-UP-USA screens. If so what is your opinion of these screens.
@bubadams8434 No, 90% of my screens are smart mesh, the other 10% are statics. I know what you are talking about but I don't have any experience with them.
What would u recommend for a 160 mesh screen
Are you taking about coating? If so, I always do a 1 and 1 (sharp side). I'll do a 1 and 2 if I want to lay down more ink. Or a 1 and 1 (round side) for more ink lay down.
@@KevinAcker no like what ich scoop coated would u recommend for 160 mesh screen
@@Dailylaughsandinspoquotes the 16inch is all you need for the 20x24 screen. No matter what the mesh count is. But that will require tape. If you cut an inch off of the 18inch, you won't need to tape the edges unless you use waterbase. In that case you will need to tape the sides
Have you worked with High Density before. I’ve had a few work and a few fail in the coating department. The process is a lil different of a ballgame.
I have not tried it. I'm not opposed to it, but none has asked for me to make any high density prints before.
@@KevinAcker I haven’t had anyone interested either, just wanted to do it for myself. It’s a lot of fun and the crazy textures you can create are pretty amazing for clothing. I did a glow in my the dark high density the other night just for shits and giggles and the glow on it is insanely bright.
@@hurleymoulds glow in the dark high density!!! That does sound like a sick shirt!
@@KevinAcker CZcams won’t let me send you a pic on here of the progress. If your interested at all, how do I get it to you?
Heck yeah. Send it to my Instagram @ackumz or my Facebook @triburstllc
