    quick note: “RM” doesn’t mean “Rap Monster” anymore, he changed it because (in his own words to his younger self) “you’re not a monster, you’re human”. “RM” means “Real Me” now. he’s not ashamed or anything, in fact, he still proudly sings “Rap Monster” in older songs that had his stage name on the lyrics, but the person he is now wasn’t represented by it so he changed it, quite a brave move to be honest.

    Regarding the unicef campaign..
    " The campaign idea was introduced by the group as a sponsorship to #ENDviolence, a UNICEF global campaign aimed at the protection of young people so they can live without the fear of violence, and promotes the hashtag - #BTSLoveMyself, which asks fans and supporters to post self-loving photos with the hashtag to different social media platforms. "- wikipedia.
    They even contributed to the funds by selling merchandise and also giving percentage from their selling album to the unicef. It was very successful and gained like millions of Korean Won as to date. ARMYs are known for their generosity to any cause and funds... We are actively doing charity and such under the name of BTS and ARMY.

      @@FabrizioSalerno Hey just wanted to give you some BTS reaction tips:
      1. Watch all videos/music videos/live performances from first sec until the very end because there is often things in the very very end of the videos. So many stop MV's before they are over just because the song ends. And never ever cut MV'S.
      2. CC on all MV's (old ones might not have CC's or might be harder to find with) if you watch a color coded video keep CC's off. Some live performances and other vids might have but most don't so don't press CC because you will get the auto generated ones and you don't want that. Ask the army for help with what exact vids to watch.
      3. Keep it real, if you don't feel a song, say so! So many reactors just like everything and get over hyped by everything and it gets old we all like some songs better and some less and maybe dislike some or some parts and thats ok. (well some fans gets mad over reactors not loving every sec of every song or other sort of BTS vid).
      4. Faces can be hard in the beginning, they started in their teens and early 20's so there faces and bodys change alot from beginning to now and haircolor change alot sometimes the same person have two different colours in one MV.
      5. You will probably be recommended some "super funny" try not to laugh videos etc that will make no sense and not be funny at all because you need to know BTS and have watched Run BTS to get things/jokes. So check with the army first so you don't have to do one of those, it's always awkward to watch reactors watch them and some even fake laugh to them witch is awful to watch.
      6. Some "army" are really toxic and wierd and might be angry, start fight etc in comments but with such a big fanbase ofcourse there will be crazys to. Some hate on every member but one or take offence about everything. Just a warning.
      7. DKDKTV have great explanations to many songs so after watching/listening to some songs like DDAENG for example do a reaction to the DKDKTV explanation to, it's always appreciated and you will love all the explanations to the lyrics. There are double meanings, and Korean sayings, word play etc that don't really translate but in DKDKTV's vids you will get it all explained and they are super interesting and fun to watch. But start with the song and do the explanation reaction after you reacted to the song.
      There are probably lots more but these are things I felt really could have helped some reactors starting out. Hope this helps.

    I struggle with calling them a boygroup too. They are a group, but it's kinda like calling the Wu-Tang-Clan a boygroup, they were also a group of guys making music together, bringing in their own styles and doing their own solo stuff. But what do we call them? It's just the Wu-Tang-Clan, so BTS is just BTS, I would say....
    *About their Unicef campaign*
    1.) Little correction, they spoke about their campaign and what they stand for infront of the United Nations as a partner of Unicef. Random fact: They got standing ovations for that and everyone wanted to shake their hands.
    2.) It's an actual campaign to support children, teenagers and young adults who are/were victims of violence, as a part of #EndViolence. Not sure about the new albums but from their whole Love Yourself series (her, tear, answer) 3% of every sold album went directly to this campaign and 100% of their special Love Myself merch line goes to this campaign as well. As of today the campaign has accumulated 2,600,000,000 Korean Won (~2.6mio US Dollar)
    3.) They are ambassadors for Unicef, it wasn't just a one of concert or something like that.
    *About Yoongi playing basketball*
    Here is a video when he played basketball during something called "Idol Olympics" where different groups compete against each other in different sports. They haven't been there for years because they are way too busy but one year they had basketball as one of the disciplines and he played. But it has to be said, that's already after they debuted as a group. He had an accident when he was a trainee where he injured his shoulder (something he still has issues with to this day):
    czcams.com/video/xC-Corhadw4/video.html
    *Sorry I snorted when you said "that's what it is being a journalist".... nah from experience being a journalist means you look at their names during the flight to Korea and just change what they say so it fits your agenda. No that's not over the top or a joke, that literally happend more than once!*
    Also I find it cute that you think *Mic Drop* is a messure point for songs by BTS for their haters. It's probably the nicest diss track they have. My fav is *We On* with the slightly shady chorus: "You don't know me, I don't know you, so please shut up! Don't worry about me, I'm better than you and will continue to be so!" (released in 2013) and of course Cypher Pt2, that's just mean and poor little BFree's career was already dead after trying to come after them.
    *Random facts about their clothes: BTS doesn't take sponsor-deals by brands, they buy/pay for their own clothes and love to showcase designers from Korea, but the PUMA clothes probably were for free because they were ambassadors for PUMA for years.*
    Well I guess that's all I have in form of an information overload for now. Others already told you about the one Twitter account and VLive (there is also Weverse, but maybe a bit too advanced for a newbie and you'll get everything from there on Twitter as well from ARMY translators). PS: VLive/VApp is also were they upload their Run episodes (a variety show) which is hilarious and a must see if you want to have a good laugh right now (there are 97 episodes so quite a bit to catch up on).

      When I think of boy bands I think of bubblegum music you can sing and bop your head but there is nothing deep there. Not that there is anything wrong with that sometimes I want my brain to shut down boy bands are great for that. BTS is more there is pain, joy, sadness, hope just to name a few things in their songs. Most of all there is a honesty in them even if it means putting their battle wounds on display. People are drawn to that to feel like we are not alone. That is why ARMY is all different ages no matter how old we have all been there. Times have changed I'm so glad there was no one with a phone camera to put on you tube all the stupid shit I did. But fighting to be who you want to be not what parents school teachers ECT want you to be, sometimes you have to fight and that's just one example. Boy band they broke that mold.

But, they use asian/korean platform "V app" for regular livestreams and some programs and shows of theirs are also available there. Then they also have their own app created by their label BigHit that is kind of the exclusive social media platform for their artists. The app is called Weverse and BTS actually comment and interact with ARMY most on there. For example, V organizes online game tournaments, RM posts long personal letters, Jin looks and comments on fanposts almost daily and just all of them share updates there. With the whole love myself campaign, it was to end violence that the younger generation goes through. Not just that but BTS themselves have faced trials of self doubt, depression anxiety and self esteem. They write that int their music. But they felt that they could do more, so they partnered with unicef for the #loveyourself and #speakyoirself campaign. It helps people but mainly helps army’s know that they aren’t alone. That they have a family with them through thick and thin. This fandom isn’t what the media thinks it is. We are a family that will stick together through a life time. BTS and Amrys have this bond that is so difficult to describe. BTS wanted to show through this campaign that we have a family when we feel as though we are alone. But we aren’t. one more thing jungkook is pronunciation in hangul (korean characters) it’s 정국 which translate to jeon-gguk. That’s how jungkooks name is actually written but it’s just romanized differently. so I’m going to break it down a little bit more
    ㅈ = romanized is ‘J’
    ㅓ= romanized is ‘EO’
    ㅇ = if its a the bottom of the characters it’s romanized to ‘NG’ but if it’s at the top it’s silent
    ㄱ = romanized to ‘G’ or a ‘K’ depending how one romanizes it but it’s pronounced as something in the middle of both
    ㅜ = romanizes to a ‘U’
    ㄱ = once again this is a ‘G’ or ‘K’
    if you ever seen a bts interview and they’re introducing themselves jungkook will pronounce his name as “jung-goog” and if you look at the korean characters it makes sense. so the correct way to pronounce jungkook is “jeon-gguk”

    as being above 34, i.e.42, I'd say they are relatable because they make a very good music, they write very good lyrics, they make very good videos, they do very good shows live, including good quality of live singing, dancing, clothes, surroundings, they know that life is basically a theatre and we are all actors in it and show it in their variety shows and bts universe, and above all they stayed humble, genuine and appreciate what they have and why they have it.
    I sincerely do not know any other group who is like this, though I am interested in music from when I was one years old )) Of course, they do not do it alone, they do this with their company, but still.

      As a passionate fan of BTS and everything that surrounds them, I have to indicate the recent groups that have been added to Bighit.
      Even though Bighit is not directly involved in the work of these groups, just out of curiosity I checked them out and found out that they follow this unspoken Ethos by Bighit (music and artist for healing) and this pattern what idols is involved in the work itself.
      Which is not so difficult to understand since the producers of these groups are friends of MR. Bang.
      The female group I had followed since -that infamous video of them falling and rising- -during a show in the middle of a rainstorm- before: Gfriend;
      I was absolutely happy that Bighit bought source music, because that way they will have more visibility in Korea and in the world. Their company barely managed to keep them ... The producer pawned or sold something of his own to pay for her photobook and mini album and their MV.
      And of course Seventeen from Pledis(The same as Nu'est) -Ididn'tforgive them- -fortheothergirlgroups- -Pristonandorangecaramel- : they do everything, but everything. The production, the lyrics, the choreography, they do it themselves. As they were created after BTS I can dream that they are students of my favorite group! BTS making disciples! Not to mention, of course, TXT. The little brothers of BTS! The peculiarity of the latter is that they do not have defined positions in the group, who is good at singing sings, who is better at rapping then do it! They are their own style!

Now when I look back in the time, the first time I saw and heard them on TV in some coffeehouse, the excitement of them releasing new albums, getting awards, the run episodes (i can't not mention them😂) I smile. I remember all the times I've cried and laughed with them. Even though I still haven't seen them life or been to their concerts I support them no matter what. They all are precious for me. I think they are relatable for every generation. We shouldn’t say like only for this to this age you can relate. Because that‘s just not true. I know people who are over 80 and are still enjoying their music even kids not from 10 but even with the age of 2/3 they have fans😍.
    Btw ARMY also stands for Adorable Representative MC for Youth
    Our fandom ARMY is also really protective over BTS. So don‘t mess with ARMY because ARMY=KARMA. We‘ve got more than one example for that😂. There are some ARMYs out there that are a bit over the top but regardless they r family☺️. And in our family we love each other regardless no matter from where you are, how u look, speak, walk, sleep whatever... we love you. Just support BTS and stay loyal. For ARMYs who say that they love BTS but this or that member should just go isn‘t a real ARMY. They just call themself ARMY to somehow belong somewhere, but pls then also accept BTS as it‘s whole. They consist of 7 members and not 6 nor 5. Each of the members bring their part to the group and without that even if it‘s just something small, it wouldn‘t be the same🥺💜so pls love them as a whole ARMY BORAHAE💜
    Ou yea right Borahae (보라해) is Korean and means I purple you. V ones explained that expression to ARMY and he said that: purple is the last colour of the rainbow. And because of that it means that I will love and trust you forever/till my last breath.
    It‘s beautiful meaning u can search up that vid It has more than one😂
    Our fandom can also get really protective. Some can be over the top so I recommend you to not mess with them😂as I mentioned already. If you want to see what power we have I recommend you that vid:
    czcams.com/video/8qfdwxxVrmY/video.html
    or just search up „I hate tweetet a Kpop band(BTS)“
    I have nothing against your pronounciation because I was the same when I started😂but it would probably help if you watch a vid on how to pronounce their stage names or even better real names👍. And don‘t lose hope if you have problems with telling who is who because it can be hard at the beginning, fighting~👍
    They‘ve got a lot of entertainment vids. If you go on the VLive App then you‘ll be in heaven of the crackhead kings😂and I mean that literally. You won‘t be able to not laugh with them. I love them almost more for these things than their music. But also their music is really good😍💜
    For the Love Yourself campaign. Well that‘s a whole Album Serie where they talk and help us to love ourself even if it‘s just a little bit more. They have more than one such Album Serie where they talk like about one topic.
    If you listen to their first few Albums, well that‘s a whole different time😂that‘s a different story. And if I‘d explain it to you now then it would never end😅
    So to whoever even red till here thank you for your time and I wish u a good day and stay healthy☺️👍💜

  • @marar8045
    @marar8045 Před 4 lety

    They started with a target demographic of just their generation, like you said, about 15-30. However, they’ve realized their message had resonated with older people too, and they’ve broadened the target. Bang PD, CEO of Big Hit always told them to write about themselves and their story. He’d allow them to say whatever they wanted as long as it was their story. Thus why they’ve made so many political songs when it’s not normal for kpop groups to speak of such things. Also, you see their song subjects grow with them. At first they’d talk about school and girls, because most of them were in high school. They moved to speaking of youth in general as they graduated but were still young. Then they moved to speaking about the temptations of life. The next chapter was Love Yourself, which was a full storyline of falling in love (with someone or something like dance), then the hardships of relationships, the breakup, and the acceptance. The latest chapter Map of the Soul, which I see as a continuation of Love Yourself, is about introspection. Self reflection into their career and themselves. Why are they doing this, how did they get here? They studied all of that and revisited their older work in order to move forward. In the end, it’s always been the same story, their story.

    It’s so true them not sticking to one genre it’s something different in the Kpop and western music industry especially because every album or song has a different genre even in 1 album there is different genre so it’s like Christmas morning every time they release an album/song because as a fan you don’t know what sound/genre you will get. But with western artists you know what genre you will get because they do stick to one genre because of award season but BTS don’t care.
