480hp my butt. This GTS was going really quick. Porsche engineering always amazes with how good they build these 911s.
Porsche hp Is 1.5times more for some reason

It's just wide powerband, good gearbox ratios and high RPM.
Porsche pretty much guarantees that the worst built Monday morning example will still have 480 hp.

There's no speaker engine noise, but there is a weird tube between the cabin and engine compartment with a valve that opens at certain RPM/engine loads, and a diaphragm to prevent gas getting to the driver/passenger. Porsche calls it a "sound symposer". Meant to improve the sound, but might sound unnatural because basically no other cars use anything similar. It's also why the 992 Carreras are loud in the cabin despite having very quiet exhausts, even with sport exhaust option.
This reminds me of the sound generator mod, which is possible on the e85 Z4 3.0
Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV had this from 2014. A direct connection between the intake of the engine towards the cabin. Sounds are also similar.

Beautiful to watch. These new Porsches always offer such a great combination of sportiness and compliance. It was running a bit wide, which I assume could be improved with Cup2, or maybe just PS4S. Ah yes, and regarding 480hp - that's Porsche numbers. In reality 550-600 :P
They always look so "effortless" on track, and the engine sound is wonderful, sings right at redline.
@@volvo09 yeah, only thing it was running a bit wide, but with the tires squealing the whole time I strongly assume it really was just tires. I mean, are these Goodyears even stock on these? I thought it was all Michelin with Porsche.

Color and options are more what you would expect on a Panamera but it suits very well to the 992. 👍

Well its pretty much the same bhp as a GT3 but has the torque from a turbo. Runs less DF too.

If i was to guess the power by having a 1000hp GTR as a reference, this GTS is around 1400hp XD
Gts on the dyno has 495-500hp and aroung 600nm. Wide powerband up to 7250rpm and torque to 5000-5500rpm is just amazing. It will do 100-200 in 7.7-8s stock, so very fast and 992 is best handling 911 ever

This lap was so smooth! Really impressed with the power and handling for a “road car”. 275 into Swedenkreuz whilst the 500hp+ audi did 240kmh there 😛

Man its so satisfying to watch a car do what it was built to do. Good powerband, awsome transmission; the shifts are on point unlike some other cars. Just awsome.

GTS is perfect balance for the 992. Also, the breaks are technically stock however it is the Turbo set up
What an absolute weapon. I love mine and it’s nice to see it being driven properly by Misha here. It was flying past everything including a 991 GT3 RS at one point. Awesome machine 😎👌🏼
The AWD system really put down the power nicely. The 911 is such an easy driving fast car very compliant.

Albeit some people have owned Porsche's, I had a 986 Boxster and 996.1 Carrera 4 (aerokit) and driven 997.1 GT3 on track and 996 Carrera 2 on the road.
But nothing newer 😢 I'm afraid, I'd love to try 992 GT3 RS ❤

the fact that he caught up to the GT3 RS, tells a lot about how good this porsche is but tells even more how good of a driver he is and how much more important it is to have a good driver behind the steering wheel

I had a 992 GTS for about 3 months, before I returned it. OK, so there was a mess up with the dealer - they changed the order without my knowledge, omitting some options, this is how I was able to return the car, breach of contract. The main reason I wanted rid was the fake engine noise, its loud and annoying. In a tunnel, you heard no engine noise echoing off the walls - a huge disappointment. Inside, a deafening roar of fake noise. I went to a different dealer and bought a pre OPF 2016 Cayman 981 GT4. Best car I ever owned, and hilarious in tunnels!
Fyi there is now an aftermarket product to deactivate the resonator that brings intake noise into the cabin (it’s real, not fake).

Porsche doesn't pipe in fake exhaust sound- that's the car. That Misha forgot and momentarily asked if the car was rear wheel drive speaks volumes about how well Porsche does their 4 wheel drive cars. Having owned a C4 GTS and now as a Turbo owner, along with having driven a wide sampling of their 911s during Porsche Driving Experience track courses, this bears out. The C4 GTS remains the best for on road, non-Turbo all-rounder in my opinion, which is why so many among the automotive press incessantly refer to it as the sweet spot of the range. You're right Misha, it's no GT3- it was never meant to be, and as you rightly point out, ventilated seats! Not to mention suspension that once you leave the 'Ring, is suitable for real world roads. :)

FYI, the Porsche "roadfeel" is fake. They use "pulse generators" to mimic the road feel- the only way to get road feel is with hydraulic power steering, not electric like Porsche uses. Similar to how we frown upon fake engine noises in the cabin.
