Did he just show Pippen blocking Justin Bieber IM DEAD
He didn’t even showed effort 💀💀💀 he just put his hands in the air
I have nightmares where Ben Wallace appears out of nowhere and blocks a basketball back at me, even when I'm not playing basketball. It's both devastating and horrifying.
Suave Chiang lol
In the 90s the elite centers avg more blk than ben wallace
@@Coldskin1 well defense is more than blocks, it was his overall impact on the defensive end that makes him one of the best defenders all time
Where's James harden?
w
Brennan Bowyer LMAO!!
W
😂😂😂😂
Keep hating but he's playing good D this year
You are tripping if you think Kareem was a better defender than Ben Wallace
I like you
ikr ben Wallace was the best defender in the early 2000s
People who never watched him regularly in his prime don't realize he was so much more than just a shot blocker and post defender. He was also an elite pick pocket and towards the top of the league in steals every year
Yes sir
Buckeye what makes it better is that he's 6'9 playing like he did.
tim Duncan is such an underrated defender
Zé Pedro Mesquita facts just Because he wasn’t has athletic as other
I would take Kareem out and put Duncan in
I have to agree with you on that one. Duncan is just plain overlooked by so many.
@@mysteriousmoon7101 your slow
@@mysteriousmoon7101 you never watch Kareem in his prime. I think Kareem is better defender
Dennis Rodman is the best rebounder i know.
HaoYu Wang *cough* wilt chamberlain *cough*
That one guy cough 7foot1inch when the league average was 6footflat cough
The real Slim Shady you are really fucking stupid mate
you know bill Russell wasn't 7ft
I though he was 6'10
a lot of people don't know how great Wilt & Russel really was because the NBA didn't record certain states back then, thats why people down grade them so much, but its nice to know this person knew who the true greatest paint protector of all time is
Yea but that doesn't mean that they're rank so high on the list. They played a bunch of scrawny white dudes in the 60s. I agree that wilt can be fourth but I don't agree that Bill Russell is no 1. At least he brought Hakeem justice, cuz the dream is underrated
the white people back then was not a push over, they may not have been as fast or strong but white people can still play ball & the league was smaller & it was harder to get in so they only picked the best of the best to get in the league, (if that makes any sense to what we are talking about)
+Landon Ware (Frosty) true but no matter how skilled or tough they were, a 6'9 6'10" center (and smaller guards) were no match of 7'1 7'2 wilt and Kareem. I'm not trying to discredit the two legends completely. But I'm trying to consider all the factors
Wilt was known to be taller then 7'5 & Kareem was 7'5, the NBA lies about heights just how they say Allen Iverson is 6'0 when he's really 5'10 short big men can take on tall big man, like Russel said its not how tall you are, its how you box them out, Charles Barkley for example
+Landon Ware (Frosty) the reason why Kareem is at 4th on this list was because of his career total shot blocking which his height difference between him and other players helped him a lot, so are Russell and Wilt's blocks. The reason why I would put Hakeem, Rodman, and Wallace before the 3 centers was because Hakeem/Rodman/Wallace had the quickness to guard guards and the toughness to guard centers...and KG should be in here too because he could do that too
Statistics is not good for defenders... Take a look how many players were stopped after Dennis Rodman take over them on the defence... Shaq make 17p and after Rodman take him he make just 4 until the end of game... And many more of them... Dennis Rodman is the BEST DEFENDER EVER!!
Slobodan Gligorijevic rodman the best in drawing offensive fouls and the best also in rebounding both defensive and offensive
Slobodan Gligorijevic i agree with you rodman is the best defender this list isnt accurate
@@bradenjones1587 is rodman much better than olajuwon?
In my opinion, yes, and no. I feel like they could both be an arguable opinion. There are many reasons why rodman should be number 1 and why olajuwon should be number one. Hes tied for first with him.
Agree. Rodman is the best
The fact that Gary Payton is the only point guard to make this list is just absolutely phenomenal..
I would have chosen 3-time DPOTY award winner Dwight Howard over him, and placed Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutomobo at 3rd.
@@johnanderson9765 Great defensive big mans especially the ones who could really move or move just enough will always have the advantage over the great defensive little mans but for Gary Payton to make this list as a point guard just shows how much of a force he was. Another great defensive point guard was Jason Kidd, John Stockton was very good too, Chris Paul is good too even though he is still playing, Chauncey Billups was very good too and Kyle Lowry too even though he is still playing, there is many great defensive point guards that I could name but those were some that come to mind to me, oh and I can't forget these guys Joe Dumar and Isiah Thomas were great defensive point guards.
With the way the game is being played today offensively, Gary Payton would have absolutely dominated the game defensively at his position because today's offense is more perimeter oriented.
Hakeem Olajuwon should definitely get more recognition for greatness and his legacy no doubt, he is very underrated as a player in general but not as a center for sure..
Rodman was less athletic?? Steve Kerr called him the best athlete he ever played with and he played with Mj Scottie and David Robinson? + who are you to say he was dumber? He was actually pretty smart on the court in terms of lower post positioning. Rodman is weaker offensively but they'res no way he doesn't match/ exceeds Russell this guy has vids of him locking up point guards shooting guards sf pf EVEN SHAQ??! Plus he was the greatest rebounder in his time during the most dominant era for big men.
All while being 6'7...
"#1 bill Russell"
Steals: I dont know
Blocks: i don't know
@Lizard King113 They dint keep stats back then but what they did keep is rebounds,he has second all time, and he played during the age of Nate Thurmond who was the first to record a Quadruple Double when he was 30+ years old,the only one to record a Quadruple Double until Hakeem, and in his era he wasn’t considered the best defender,Russel was.
9 Championships
I can see why people would look at bill russel as a great defender which i agree with as well but number one on this list is retarded they didnt even keep track on stats back in the day and he played with much less competition than anybody else on this list
They didn't keep those stats back then, NOR did they keep ASSIST.
_Vyruss but is was known based off 134 recorded games and in those games he averaged 9.9 blocks a game and 5.5 steals a game and center’s average height was the same then as it was now he also own the 6 greatest defensive shares seasons in nba history and has 30 more win share than 2nd in and has played less than 400 games than everyone in the top 5
Tony Allen is one of the greatest defenders. If put him on top 20 defenders.
Thai Yeah he can get the ball from you whenever he wants.
Josh The Grizzlies Fan he'll no
Josh The Grizzlies Fan
Thank you.
Not a lot of people appreciate his greatness.
mdhcccc shutdown kobe and LeBron in the same year
Fuck yea the only other Griz fan here lol. "1st team all defense!" Hashtag Grindfather!
Smh don't ever show GP in an OKC jersey he was a sonic
I agree with you, but the Seattle Supersonics became the Thunder when they relocated to Oklahoma City. The Thunder should retire his number 20; they should retire Shawn Kemp number 40 too
@@jayelbee1111 yeah but not a Thunders Jersey
Hakeem, Pippen and Rodman Top 3.. they play defense inside and outside especially Rodman.
xBakero and even shuts or slow down bigger opponents, like Shaq, Malone, Mutombo, Ewing
Hakeem over rated. His team had Ralph Sampson guard Kareem.
@@Johnkoth total rubbish. From 1987 - 94 (excluding the year he missed 12 games going 2-10 in that span and they missed the playoffs) the Rockets were top 5 in Dtrg. Never had a all defensive selection teammate for his entire career.
He's top 2 or 3 ever defensively because of that.
Ralph Sampson is taller than Hakeem.
Kareem is taller than Hakeem.
Hakeem 7ft 0
Kareem 7ft 2
Sampson 7ft 4
See video proof of what I said.
czcams.com/video/eNGJl2MfyiI/video.html
1. Hakeem
2. Rodman
3. Pippen
4. Wallace
5. Mutumbo
6. Wilt
7. Russell
8. MJ
9. Kareem
10. Gary Payton
Dennis Rodman is in my top 5 maybe 3! but great list! need to sort out those jerseys tho lol
Scottie Pippen in the 9th place??!!?? Are you kidding me? OK since you know Basketball so well, can you point out from this list of yours who is the player that can defend all 5 positions on the court and lock down the opponent?
-Scottie Pippen!!!!
Altin Gjoka when did Scottie guard Malone, Ewing, Shaq, and Zo mourning?? Hardly ever. That was Dennis. So what are you talking about?? When did he guard the 4 or 5?
When was needed he did, ... he shut down Charles Barkley in the NBA finals, is that a 4 ? and if you know Basketball you would understand what I meant. guarding Shaq?! or Ewing....
Barkley averaged 27.3, 13 and a half boards and over 5 assists off almost 48% shooting. Lol at Scottie shutting him down. Put some respeck on Barkleys name. That isn't a shot on Scottie either, he's one of the best, but so was Sir Charles.
yatagarasuable
You = a complete loser
Andrey Kirilenko stoped Shaq, stealed balls of Kobe, etc.
Pippen at 9?No way....he deserves more credit for his deffence abilitys.Very Underated.
I agree a straight snub
Arguably the best defensive player ever (due to his ability to keep up with guards, not just block shots in the paint), certainly up there with Rodman, Hakeem, and Bill Russell.
Rodman is 100% top 3. possibly #1. .. foh with #6.
Nate Heineman you're funny I say top 5 but not top 3
The L Delivery Man you probably don't really know who Dennis Rodman is then. he is the ONLY player in history that can guard ever position. and not just guard. LOCK DOWN AND SHUT DOWN who ever it was. he may not avg 2blks or 2stls but he truly is the greatest defender in NBA history.
@@nateheineman6697 finally someone telling the truth
Dennis is #1
Damn Jordan faced a lot of elite defenders ,especially rim protectors.Hakeem,Ewing,Shaq,Mutombo,Payton,Alonzo Mourning,Kareem(late stages),Rodman(+whole Detroit team),Robinson, the 80s Boston,90s Knicks,Miami etc etc.Kobe ,Wade Lebron,Kd never played in that type of league. Now dudes can freely drive to the basket because of floor spacing.Back then the lane was crowded and Jordan faced 2 guys + at least 1 great rim protector almost every playoff game. But he is the GOAT so...
Kareem doesn't deserve to be on this list. He wasn't a defensive stopper. Mourning on the other hand should replace him
Fuck yea
+蔡侑霖 YA!
Joel Villarreal Tim Duncans a better defender then him
+Joel Villarreal you should go look at his stats, all of them, like MINUTES PLAYED
+Joel Villarreal LOL stats? thats cute. not saying mourning should be on this list but i would definately rather have him over kareen.. this coming from a laker fan.
Pippen always had the nastiest blocks tbh
Glenn Xavier ben Wallace has entered the chat
And steals was a genius in bateing up defenders
Even though the goaltending rule was introduced before wilt played in the league it wasn't implemented that much. Nowadays there would be a lot of goaltending calls on wilt and kareem.
i'll put the worm in the top 3
Honorable mentions gotta go to David Robinson, Ron Artest, Tim Duncan and Tony Allen
Kawhi Leonard will be on this list when all is said and done.
3 1995-96 era bulls on here and they all deserve their place. You think the 2015-16 warriors would stand a chance? #BullsIn4
2016-2017 warriors would
L
In this era with rules the way their are idk
it should be played like the rules back then to see how tough these warriors are
probably the least tough era was the bill Russell era it seemed as if he had no competition.
John Stockton has the most steals in NBA history how the hell is he not on here.
Kareem over Ben Wallace, Dennis rodman, and muntombo 😅😅 nice try
kareem is a great defender but he is not better than rodman, mutombo, bem wallce.
Most underrated defender of all time..Jason Kidd. 9x all defense, over 2,000 steals and was always over shadowed by Gary Payton defensively. Greatest defender at PG I ever saw after the glove
Wow fantastic list!!! The order was perfect, I kept going "what him -- at whatever number" until the next slide then I was like "oh okay, maybe they're right
That Play at 2:40 though
Nihar Behera the happiest player I know to play defense aside from me
wilt was the greatest player ever to play the game.
Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Hakeem Olajuan
All better than Wilt Chamberlain
+Rememba Kemba Kareem isn't even top 10 at defense
THE DROUGHT IS OVER 2016 NBA CHAMPS Maybe not top 10 defender, but he is a top 10 player
Rememba Kemba Definitely, he has the most points in the NBA
I hope this is a troll lol
man...Big Ben's blocks were so violent. Just nasty! loved him on the Pistons.
pretty solid list! well done.
I got Dennis RODMAN at #1
Agreed, stats mean a lot but don't tell the whole story. Rodman all time defense king, severely undervalued.
Dennis King I also got The Worm
Wallace better defender....Rodman better rebounder.
Dennis King he even got the awards wrong
💯
where is KWAME BROWN "the BONAFIDE SCRUB????"
Crazy to think 3 of these guys were on the same team for years... and 2 for a decade.... The horror stories about the 90's era BULLS defense is legendary. So thankful to have grown up in Chicagoland in the 80's-90's! Was an exciting time!
Great video dude
Most players who played with him say Rodman was the best perimeter defender they ever saw. Of all these people on the list he is the only one who can defend anywhere in the court.
The man wanted one thing. It wasn't to win, it wasn't to score, he wanted the ball. I have nightmares of holding a basketball on any court Rodmans on.
Dennis rodman is better than ben wallace, rodman can guard any pos.
I watch both...
I never have chance see better defender then Ben Wallace... Prime Ben is allot better then everyone... quick, strong, verical...
young Ben ALLSO can guard 1-5...
I thing u never see Ben Wallace in action.
No one could defend Wilt in his prime. Russell was the only one who could come close to defending him. Wilt would've ate Rodman up.
@@johnriley8591 but wilt is a myth tho. We really can't tell if he can play in an updated playstyle.
Watch Ben Wallace play.
I seen him guard more than Centers.
He had Power Forward speed.
He guarded Centers, Power Forwards and Small Forwards.
Sure Rodman could guard any position but it was better for the team that MJ and Pippen guarded 3 thru 5 and Rodman guarded 1 and 2s.
Same thing with pretty much any other Center and Power Forward in Basketball history.
Small Fowards are usually the most versatile on defensive and guard 1 thru 4 whoever is needed.
Guards are the fastest. Iverson, Sprewell and others would use that speed to get past Rodman.
MJ and Pippen could keep with the fastest guys in the NBA. Rodman could not.
Rodman is a better post defender than MJ and Pippen.
My top 10 would be imo
1. Dennis Rodman
2. Bill Russell
3. Scottie Pippen
4. Gary Payton
5. Hakeem Olajuwon
6. Dikembe Mutombo
6. Michael Jordan
7. Ben Wallace
8. Tim Duncan
9. Wilt Chamberlain
10. Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard my guy?
Dude Duncan at least deserves a spot on this list. Just because he wasn't as athletic or flashy as everyone else it doesn't stop him from being the greatest pf of all time, and a top 5 defensive big of all time. Wether you look at it from an accolades standpoint, statistical standpoint or just his impact on the court, he outclasses half the people in this vid.
So in other words, Jordan won 6 rings because he had 2 of the top 10 defenders of all time on his team (or 3 including himself.)
Even Jordan will tell you Scottie was there every time he won a championship and it was a team effort.
Ahmad2423 ummm its FACT u DIPSHIT. The Bull had BEST foreign player BEST rebounder AND best defender gtfoh
Ahmad2423 you don't know shit and frankly you aren't worth the waste of an inhale of fresh air u fucking dunce. You aint on my level of basketball iq to even argue. go study then try again MORON
Joe 7374 You can throw these Internet tantrums all you want. It's still your opinion it's not a fact DumbAss, In which I disagree now what else...
Joe 7374 You should be the best at one thing if that's all you're asked to do. Damn You stupid ASF, Nobody ever asked Rodman to lead their franchise or be the best player. He was only asked to rebound the ball I'm not knocking Rodman because he's one of my all-time favorite player's. But that first ballot HOF shit was a Joke if he was first ballot then Artis Gilmore is the greatest Center of All-time. 6X All-star 5X All-NBA first team offense and defense. Career averages of 18ppg 12rpg 3.2bpg but he had to wait 24 yrs to get in...GTFOH The other guys are irrelevant because those were role player's at best. So like I said you're stupid ASF if you really believe that's only reason why the Bulls were dynasty in the 90's, The Bulls became a Dynasty because of that man wearing that #23 jersey...Don't kid yourself Yea Pippen was the ultimate Sidekick and Phil was a great philosopher but Jordan was the reason every time no doubt about it. Never had the pleasure of watching someone else close for him, Or be the best player nope it was always his responsibility to close the deal. Now tell me where I'm wrong?...
How can the all time leader in steals not be on this list?
@AlexLoeher Stockton led the league twice and was top 3 5 other years. He was a master of thievery. But I would agree he wasn't a top 10 defender. Then again neither was Jordan or Jabbar. All of them good defenders..not top 10
AlexLoeher part of your point was that Stockton played a lot of games to sort of dilute his ability at stealing the ball. Stockton was a master thief, which is widely considered to be at least an indication of some defensive ability at point guard. Your other point was that steals aren’t the best gauge of overall defense. I would agree with that. Another reason to discount Jordan as an all time defender.
@AlexLoeher well, you are right but thinking the same way, mutombo is me asured in a similar way, blocks shouldnt be the only stat for defining a great defender. Anyway, i agree with you
@@Charon58 lol Jordan was defensive player of the year. How about Stockton?
@@michelcyrillandicho7111 Jordan's DPOTY was a joke. The year he won it, he wasn't even the best defensive player on his own team (that was Pippen) much less the league (Hakeem, Robinson and at least 5 others). He won it because everyone had Jordan madness. Stockton's defense was very good. Twice steals leader. 4 other times top 3 steals. More than that he was always where he needed to be and wasn't afraid to take a charge from anyone (somehow I never see highlights of Jordan doing that). Players hated him defending them because he made it hard to do what they wanted to do. Jordan was also a very good defender, but only Jordan fan boys think he's a great all time defender. He just wasn't. He usually defended the oppositions weakest perimeter player to save himself for offense. This was smart basketball, as he is one of the greatest offensive players in league history.
I really think you need Bobby Jones in this list or at least as an honorable mention.
Great list
I would take Wilt at center, Rodman at power forward, Pippen at small forward, MJ at the 2 guard and Payton at the 1 spot.
You might go 82-0 with that
I know about NBA and the history but Alonzo mourning was a good defensive player
Someone here was drunk making that list. Rodman was by far best defender of his era and arguably number one of all time. Dude could completely lock down anyone from Gary Payton to Shaq himself. And he was same frame as MJ. 7 foot 250 lbs people claimed Shaq was unstoppable yet Rodman handled him like a guard.
Good vid
Jump man jump man jumpman
Mj over pippen? Kareem over Wallace/Rodman/Dik? Bill Russell no. 1? I guess this is just your opinion....
Bill Russell has always been regarded as a defensive genius...you'll see him first in any list you watch
+Epupify yes but we will never know if Bill Russell can do more than blocking shots. I hold high regards of players who can guard multiple positions. I'm not saying Bill can't for sure. There are videos and clips of Hakeem, Worm, and KG showing that they can do it. But we don't have those for Bill. that is why I'm skeptical of Kareem, wilt, and Bill's defensive ability
+蔡侑霖 Not sure if the descriptions of his defensive talents rest that much on his shot blocking ability, but whatever he did defensively its said it bolstered the offensive prowess of the whole team...read any description of his defense and it will say something like that... most defensive plays well timed and directed and leading to offensive plays or something among those lines... i, like you haven't seen much of him but that is what people who praise his defense say
+Epupify yes but the I will always stick to the argument of Bill's competition besides Wilt. The two were simply too physically talented for the others
@@yulintsai562 Bill just won 11 Champiomships with defence

- Gary Payton
- Scottie Pippen
- Michael Jordan
- Dikembe Mutombo
- Dennis Rodman
- Ben Wallace
- Kareem Abdul Jabbar
- Wilt Chamberlain
- Hakeem Olajuwon
- Bill Russell
How to meet Ben Wallace: Throw a basketball against the net. Ben Wallace will appear out of thin air, and block it to smithereens. You can then buy him a beer and tell him how great he is.
How is John Stockton not on this list?
He is the leader in steals, all right. But Curry is it on the league now and he is a bad defender
so no Stockton?
SociallyAwkwardDar_ if you think Stockton was a top 10 all time defender because he got steals then you're delusional
Ya Boi so why dont you call all the hall of famers that played against him, that claimed he was a defensive great, delusional too. Im just going with what the pros said... Who are you again?
Ya Boi He was a great defensive player when he was in his prime
most steals of all time though
Parkay0628 , that was exactly my thought. This list has no credibility if they leave off the all-time steals leader.
Love the list, disagree with the order. Alonzo (no) I can't figure out who to leave off? Russell, Dream, Rodman, Mutombo, Karriem, Pippen, Jordan, Big Ben, Wilt, Payton

The fact that Tim Duncan doesn't make this list is just absurd..
MJ over pippen only cause of name..
ne nije tako MJ is top 5 too like Pippen
you can see numbers and titles he got
I think David Robinson could have been on here and I think Jordan is slid down a little and dikembe at 7?? Idk about that man dikembe in my mind is top 3 come on man
What is the name off when you catch the ball and play it in outside the field in the air ??? (Like the one on 0:32) please answer
can you do the top 10. 50 point games
Where's kawihi
I got wilt at #1
He could block Kareem's skyhook...... thats hops right there.
To me the extreme difficulty for some of these players to be able to make this list while at the same time being dominant dominant offensive player it is just absolutely phenomenal unbelievably amazing I don't even think words can describe..
This list tells me that Hakeem Olajuwon is the greatest two way player of all time and wilt is second..
MJ?
@@arigross6822 MJ is third but an argument can be made that he is second alltime.
3 of these top 10 played on My Bulls second three peat
Michael Jordan is also a top five.. who ever made this list was smoking

In USA.
Fuck off

He had to show Scottie block that little kid in the celebrity game💀💀💀
How is dennis rodman not number 1. my man contained the two greatest offensive threats in the history of basketball, Jordan on the perimeter and Shaq in the paint. Dennis no.1 free
Dikembe is top 3
Dark Chocolate because he can block shots? No...
Ya Boi he was an outstanding low post defender too so waht's your point?
No Kevin Garnett are you kidding me?!
Draymond Green will be on this list when his NBA career is over. The guy brings toughness, a high defensive IQ, quickness and strength every game. He can guard any position from 1 - 5 and still rebound, reject, deflect, race down court and distribute the ball like a PG.
Hakeem Olajuwon had a lot of blocks where he intentionally hit the ball downward so his teammates could possibly get it as opposed to just swatting it out of bounds. He was no joke on defense!
wilt chamberlains blocks are mostly goal tending. hakee one of the best because he could guard any position even point guards. same with denis rodman but was much smaller than hakeem.
Clean blocks. U dont knoe goal tending well.
No Dwight Howard? Three defensive player of the year awards
in a soft ass league
SportGod he didn't get his research right
Should have put their all nba defensive selections. Other than that good video
You can argue about the order, but this is a pretty good list.
Lebron james should enter this list by the time he hangs up the sneakers to. And where is Stockton?? He leads the nba in steals by miles!!!
Stockton was under rated as a defender and didn't miss rotation assignments and he was fearless taking charges. He wasn't top 10 all time though.
Charon58 Malone was also underrated.
LeBron is a average defender.. And at some games he is pretty bad too.. He even hasnt any dpoy award or per game steal leadership ?! So how he should enter ?!
Wanking much ?!
Chaz Bustos Nope
Lebron is one of the most overrated and laziest defenders I've seen. He had 2 elite seasons, after that it's just flashes and when he feels like it.
So Jordan a better defender than Bowen, Cooper, Drexler, Bobby Jones, Mark Eaton, Dwight Howard, David Robinson, Duncan or Leonard? BS
Charon58 yes!
Charon58 Yes he is

Charon58 Drexler wtf?

1.Bill Russell (FYI he has the highest defensive winshares more than anyone at 133.06)
Hakeem, Jordan, and RodZilla top 3 Defensive players of All Time.
Jordan's Defense is easily overlooked because he is the GOAT Scorer ever and that stands out more. But let's be honest, if he played the exact same Defense, but he sucked on offense like B.Wallace, D.Mutumbo, and D.Rodman, then Jordan would get way more credit for his Defense. But...
Notice how Bill Russell’s blocks are different than all of the other ones that appear on this list. When wilt, Kareem, Wallace, Hakeem, and Dikembe block they usually swat it hard out of bounds. But when russell blocks a shot he gently hits it to his teammates or comes down with it himself. That’s what makes him the best. He turns a block into a turnover instead of just giving the other team another go by hitting it out of bounds.
I need more Kobe he only held down all defensive team for a decade
