This is actually a nice phone charger if you have some full packs sitting around.
When I lost power for a day I used the isdt battery checker to keep my phone charged while watching movies using battery packs

Nice compact storage discharger, a perfect companion to the ISDT PD charger. Great for travel, less haul to carry around. Can safely put batteries in storage charge mode before heading to the airport. Great tutorial on connecting the ISDT 608PD to charge another battery.

Pretty cool product! I tend to crash way before I run out of pack, so I'm constantly sitting on a couple full Lipos, so thing could be really useful!

Nice way to put balance both under storage charge and over storage charge pack if you only get half a session in and have a usb based charger. Price is good too.
i have a LiFe 200ah 4s powerbank in my car and whenever I have fully charged lipo left after a day flight, I just recharge my massive powerbank with lipo at high discharge rate it takes only minutes to put it in storage voltage!!!

AFAIK, it can't be used stand alone and you have to charge something to discharge the lipo.

Speedy bee at it again. They have been releasing some good products lately. I used to just use a dead cell battery to run my soldering iron and discharge it that way for the recycling but this is probably a safer way of doing things lol

Hey this I handy. But what if you don’t have anything to charge.
You need to plug in something at the other end to discharge. Phone, fpv goggles battery, radio battery.... I'm sure there's something lol
Shame it only goes down to 3S. I could get some use out of a 2S discharger
You could look into getting a series balance charger and discharge up to three 2S batteries. HGLRC for example makes one. It'll look like a 6S battery from the discharger
@@arthurgiourdjian9071 Be careful as all batteries will need to have the same voltage otherwise you'll cause a fire.
@@JoshFPV24 that's only if you use parallel charging boards which I never recommend. Series chargers/boards don't have this issue
I really like how simple it is to use and its compact enough to toss in a bag. The fact you could use it to charge your phone or maybe your transmitter battery in the field in case they're getting low is super useful. Great review!!
This is pretty cool. I have a discharger/battery killer from JHEMCU a very handy device. Plan to fly, rain makes you change your mind. I think everyone needs one of these in their tool box. its extremely handy. Thanks for the intro/review. .
Hmm I just bought a wire wound resistor (just to kill bad packs). Nice to know this is avail to stop at storage voltage and put that power to use instead of just heat.

Great review of a useful tool. I've been using my ISDT BG-8S lipo checker to discharge lipos to storage while charging my phone, tablet, ear buds whatever is rechargeable. But its not fast charge capable, this is a definite must have for me. Reasonably priced, great value. 👍😎
Does that one have a cut off voltage setting so you don't accidentally over discharge your lipos?

I never understood the need for a device that just discharges batteries. Meaning, that's the sole purpose and does not have a charge function as well. At least this allows.yiu to charge other devices with its excess voltage. But I do think the limited buttons will make things annoying very quickly.
We need something like the Vi-Fly Whoopster but for 2s to 6s batteries.
Why do you need a discharger
Before putting your lipos in storage, they should ideally be discharged.
A fully charged battery that isn't used within 2 days can damage the capacity of the lipo.
You don't need it, just buy more batteries when they die early.

Up to you whether you want it or not. Keeping lipos at full charge all the time can reduce their longevity so having something like this will help them last longer.
Charging sure beats heating a resistor.
