So, this could basically be used to power up my Raspberry Pi 4B with LiPo batteries when I'm flying in the field? I've build a dedicated DigiView 5" LCD + Raspberry Pi 4 model B, external FPV monitor, and currently powering everything with standard 10000 mAh Power Bank. It runs for hours without any problems. But, I'm wondering if this could be used so I don't have to carry that Power Bank with me, and simply use LiPos I already have on me.
I guess it has its uses - i.e. for powering USB gear, but there is also only so many things you can power, so it seems somewhat limited. It would be much better if it were able to balance the battery as it discharged it, as well as could also output DC directly, i.e. to charge up another battery. It clearly has adjustable voltage regulation circuitry since it supports USB-PD/QC4, so it shouldn't have taken much more to tweak it that way. Maybe we'll see a second revision of it?
You can use this to discharge your 6s to your 1 or 2s via usb c
I use it for the HS01 solder iron on field and car stuff.
That is a good use for it. This is a power adapter really, not a discharger... Happy flying
Exactly 👍
Thanks for your Honest Review as always!!!
Good review less! thank you.
Hi Lee, Great video and review of the Speedybee discharger. Well ? NO ! I don't have any use for it. Thanks again for the video and information about this product.
Awesome review, Lee! Thanks! 😃
Well, yeah, I guess you could use it for charging your phone or camera, but... Other than that, unfortunately I can't see much use for it...
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Another good review
Green energy device i like....
What would anyone suggest to use to soak the 'power of discharge', that is small and easily portable - a car headlamp bulb maybe??
I use a automotive headlight bulb here but that is only happy up to 4s packs really. Not sure it would be happy with over 20v on it :D
@Painless360 - Thanks - I only need 3 & 4 cell packs for my stuff. I suppose for anyone with packs bigger than 4 cell, they could use a 24v DC bulb?
I am a big fan of the ISDT FD-100. Plug in *any* capacity 2-6S pack, select the appropriate cell count and discharge rate then ignore it 'till it beeds that its done. I have 4 of them, each with 4-way parallel boards attached, so I can process more than 1 battery of the same capacity and cell count at once.
I think the oldest one of the batch is 4 years old? They've been foolproof.
As you said, that thing is almost useless. Every modern pocket size charger has usb 5V output. So why buy additional device.
Very nice Lee, but I don't see the links you refer to, in the description.
Added 😁
Good video but what a useless product!
I was expecting something completely different!
At least if it had a xt60 out plug we could connect this to the charger to charge other batteries and with a safe balanced and in the right storage voltage of the batteries we wanted to discharge.
Less of a discharger and more of a powerbank replacement IMHO.
@@Painless360 exactly!!!
Absolutely useless product for a hobbiest imagine it has rained and now I have to discharging 6 packs of 4s 1500mah with this thing.
