Driving around Mayo, Yukon

- Mayo, Yukon, is a village about a four-and-a-half-hour drive north of Whitehorse. The First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun is based here. The community has a population of 499 as of 2020, according to the Yukon Bureau of Statistics.

I am so star struck with memories. I remember going to that convienence store when it was called Danny's during my lunch when I was not in detention or when it was not sub below cold! I grew up in Elsa and did my first year and a half of high school at JV Clark! In 1973 I was born in that very health center
Maybe we went to JV Clark around the same time! Your last name sounds familiar. 1985 was my last year there, I was in 4th grade. And I totally remember walking the boardwalks to Danny’s for a treat
@@avroe1 what was your last name? I did not go to JV Clark until 87. Coming from Elsa my family did go to Mayo quite frequently! My parents name were Marg and Lloyd.
How do the locals feel about people from out of province coming for gold tourism or to dig themselves? Is it something that upsets people or are they generally happy to see you ?
@MW-le8qq the last time I heard they were happy to see new people. I have not been to Mayo in gosh almost 40 years
