This is the twenty-fourth lesson in a series of lessons using the Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1 as our primary source of instruction. This lesson focuses on page 28 and teaches the concept of "rests". This lesson includes several exercises to help you learn how to properly play and count rests in music.
This series is not intended to replace the Hal Leonard Guitar method, but to act as a supplement to it. You will need a copy of the book to be successful using this series. I've included an Amazon link to the book below.

Thanks so much for these, I'm not up to this yet but I'm going through the Hal Leonard books and your videos are so valuable! It really helps to hear you play the song to make sense of them. I just learned 'When The Saints Go Marching In'. Keep it up!!
love the Jaws theme, also great to have a cruiser lesson like this to break the pace up a lil (:
thanks for the video
good info to follow
For the last exercise I will dig up an extra drippy reverb...
Hahahaha! Right? Gotta keep it authentic!
I noticed when I play the bottom E string, the A string also rings out. I'm assuming this should be dampened as well?
Nvm I see in your next video that you said not to worry about it
Glad you found it in the next video. Keep up the good work!
