This is the twenty-eighth lesson in a series of lessons using the Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1 as our primary source of instruction. This lesson focuses on page 32 and teaches one new song: the "Star Spangled Banner." This is the national anthem of the United States. In this lesson I walk through exactly how to play it, as taught in the Hal Leonard Guitar Method book 1. Hope you enjoy. Please comment if you have any questions or concerns.
This series is not intended to replace the Hal Leonard Guitar method, but to act as a supplement to it. You will need a copy of the book to be successful using this series. I've included an Amazon link to the book below.

Wondering if these lessons are going to continue? I have been working through HL books 1-3 on my own with only videos of the pieces being played (e.g. Mr Z or Myriad Music - and these are available only up to book 2). Already halfway through book 3. However I've been finding it very helpful to go back to the beginning and work through these lessons with the additional guidance on how to work through the exercises, play the pieces, practice with metronome etc.

Yes, lessons will continue. Very soon actually. I've been in the process of a very large move from Europe back the states. Lots of logistics but videos will continue as soon as possible!

@@NickTolmanMusic Awesome! I would imagine there's a lot of users of the HL books who could benefit from these videos if they don't have in-person instruction. I signed on to Patreon to add my small contribution :-)

The only thing is that...you don't show the measure by measure in order to follow what exactly you are playing.
Don't get me wrong your teaching is amazingly with patience.
For ppl that want to learn as beginners it would be great if you show the measure plus the playing in like a split screen.
Just a suggestion....I subscribed to follow the lessons ...it helps plenty. But neasures are definitely MIA..
    Thank you
    Much blessings 🙌

Thanks for the feedback! That would be a great way to go, unfortunately to protect the copyrighted material contained in the book I cannot legally reproduce the notes from the book on the video. This ensures the at people will continue to legally purchase copies of the book! Thanks again for the feedback.
