  • New mobile phone footage has emerged which gives a fuller picture of what happened when a campaigner against antisemitism was confronted by police at a pro-Palestine demonstration.
The Metropolitan Police issued two apologies last week after a video clip was published showing Gideon Falter being described in his heated conversation with an officer as "openly Jewish".
Mr Falter subsequently called for the resignation of Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley.

Let's not forget these pro Hamas protesters weren't even allowing any display of solidarity with the hostages and murdered Israelis in the week after Oct 7th. Excuses? There aren't any. The Hamas supporters are aggressively harassing whoever they please. This is the UK. Nobody in the UK needs permission from a terrorist organization to hold our Remembrance parade either. The police are there to make sure *any* legitimate protest or other use of public space goes ahead and these protests must be banned.

And sure, he's chairman of the campaign against anti-semitism. I know it's hard for you when jews stand up for their rights to not be violated for being jewish, you know, being an anti-semite yourself, but deal with it.
I think it's damned logical that someone like him would be at demonstrations like this to point out the anti-semitism (not anti-zionism) and take a camera to show the world... and not by talking to these pro-palestinian supporters, but just by being there and letting them visually know that he's a jew. If those supporters really aren't anti-semitic, there would be no problem and Gideon's film-crew would be there for nothing. But that didn't quite happen, now did it?

The only place where such abomination happens is in the US, sometimes (and always in red states, go figure), and in every single instance where that happened violence was the result (because it goes without saying that the only reason a counter-protest is done at the same time and place as a protest is to instigate a reaction from the protesting march, or the very least to destabilize it and call it short). In civilized developed countries counter-protests are not allowed to merge with the protest march. Almost always this "counter-protesting" tactic of merging with the protest march is used by far-right groups... which is actually apt in this case as well, go figure (Falter is in "good" company, and just like Falter the far-right groups also are disingenuous, they call it "right to protest" and not "counter-protest" - which it is, and nothing but - or that they are just strolling, a "normal citizen exercising their right"... sounds familiar?).
