Moltres jumped two tiers up to OU. Here's Why.

Moltres rose to OU from RU during July's tier shifts, but why did it? The answer is simpler than you think, you really only have to look at the best Pokemon in the tier. With max physical defensive bulk, Moltres can stave off hits from the three top tier threats - Kingambit, Great Tusk and Zamazenta - and can burn back with its ability Flame Body or with Will-O-Wisp. Its typing is also great into Iron Valiant, and STAB Flamethrowers do good chip to Gholdengo. Moltres is akin to stall Talonflame sets seen at the beginning of the generation, except what Moltres lacks in Defog makes up for with better stats almost all the way across the board. The team is also held together by Iron Crown - another OU riser - Great Tusk, Kingambit, Garganacl and Slowking-G.
