Edo PDP Governorship Primary Election Scrapped Over Exclusion Of 378 Delegates

- Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has voided the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship election in Edo State that produced Asue Ighodalo as its candidate.
The election conducted on February 22, 2024, was voided on the ground that 378 delegates who were supposed to vote at the primary election were unlawfully excluded by PDP.
Justice Ekwo nullified the primary election while delivering judgment in a suit instituted by the aggrieved delegates.

PDP if you know you are right, please don’t apeal the judgment, stop making noise , do not apeal the judgment, let’s wait and see how it goes
The reason the Judgement will be appealed is to set the record straight and also to draw caution or reprimand the Judge. This judgement is beyond his jurisdiction to give judgement on. So approaching the appeal court to peruse this judgement and lay this abysmal conflicting judgement that has no bearing to rest is necessary. I hope that answers your question. For example, I can give you an hypothetical case, if I erroneously say you're a mad man and I make that assertion authoritatively, the onus lies on you to debunk such, by approaching the Doctors in the hospital to verify your clean bill of health, rather than allow people run with wrong impression. So the PDP will approach the appeal court. I hope this explains better to you. In a few weeks, this will be put to rest by a superior court.

Wetin concern APC with your inability to conduct a proper primary. The court is saying that the process that led to your primary is faulty. This is clear. They are not talking of the primary but the process leading to the primary.
Asue Ighodalo would have been a better candidate if all were right with those leaders of the party. I am really sad.

The Supreme court faulted the Federal government in the case of Nmamdi Kanu but didn't set Kanu free. The court never nullified the primary but said the delegates should be allowed to take part in the primary that have already been done and dusted.
