These trivial facts are NOT needed for the exam. Dont get deviated from the sylllabus. DPSP is JUST A GUIDE for central govt and state govts. There is NO compulsion for a govt to bring a scheme under DPSP, there is only a Moral and constitutional obligation.

Lets assume you are studying for 6 months. For 1st 2 months, don't solve previous year papers. Concentrate on obtaining knowledge
After 2 months, start solving prev year papers. After 4 months(from beginning), start taking test series from any academy.

Syllabus/topic wise is proper approach. But while starting study, start with lower standard books and proceed to higher std books- 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th and so on

Yes, same applies for TNPSC also. Language doesn't matter, your answer does. If you are comfortable with English, go for it. Else, stick with Tamil
Sir, I have been preparing myself to appear for upsc cse prelims 2020. So far I have read the standard books and NCERT books for upsc syllabus. In order to appear for tnpsc group 1 prelims, should I be reading samacheer books additionally? I am afresh to tnpsc exams.
If you have already prepared for UPSC by studying ncert books, then there s no need to read TN text books again. You just have to study additionally for some specific topics in TNPSC syllabus- TN History, geography, literature etc.
Download TNPSC syllabus and go through it. You will get a good idea

Yes, the Core subjects that you study in NCERT(His,Geo, Science, Polity etc) will be useful for TNPSC also. But, you need to study additional things in the syllabus from Samacheer books.
