    What an idiotic mayor

Focus on crime reduction. Safety and security should be the number one priority for the mayor.

Best way to do that is to give people jobs that pay enough to live comfortably without having to resort to crime to do it. You can't punish people into being nice. Doesn't work on the individual or societal level. The problem is that hard work stopped being rewarded here. Nobody want to look at or talk about the elephant in the middle of the room, but that's what it is. You can't just put the entire middle class out of their own homes, and jobs, leave them and the poor with basically no work, or opportunity to get back on their feet and then expect there to not be an explosion of crime. And you can't just party the problem away.
I mean I get it, get the rich folks to come out and spend a little money on entertainment to get it to trickle down into the empty pockets, but that doesn't work and Reagan proved it. Instead, force higher wages for the lower incomes, decrease wage disparity, and you can do that by mandating that the no employee of any company, or corporation may earn or receive (except in cases of medical treatments) more than 20 times the amount of another in annual payments. So, the CEO of a company cannot make more than 20x what the lowest paid employee is. Along with that, you more strictly define and regulate what kinds of work can and cannot be outsourced so that companies have a more difficult time skirting employee benefits by hiring private contractors. Is that communism? No, it's capitalism that does't just eat up and spit out the lower wage employees of companies. Is it wage redistribution? Not exactly. Maybe sorta, but it addresses that companies who do well, require effort from all involved and if the company does well, all of its employees do well. ALL of them. As for shareholders, make capital gains taxable, and remove immunity.
And STOP PUNISHING PEOPLE FOR BEING POOR!
      Food for thought.

In reality crime is WAY down over the last 20 years. It's STILL much better than it was in the 90s. It's just that everyone has a camera and a newspaper with them now (and they can post to this newspaper at all times). SF Bay area isnt really known for physical crime, it's all property crime or drugs.

    See at pattern?
    Always about entertainment
Not about arresting, prosecuting, and jail
    Why?
    The impractical Activists have control
These politicians controlled by these Activists need to be voted out.

Why is the solution to every problem in SF to close streets to traffic?

Clean up the streets Downtown, in the Tenderloin, area around Polk St from Market, parts of the Mission District off Potrero/Army, and all other obvious-to-San Franciscans trashed areas that we see daily. Elections coming up in SF > nothing gained by enhancing already okay neighborhoods. What happened to the steam cleaning of the City’s really filthy dirty streets? Oh, no convention is in town.

@@RandomRabbit007one time my wife and I were sitting by an open window at a restaurant in San Francisco. As I was watching people strolling along the sidewalk, a women suddenly dropped her trousers, squatted, and took a dump, then jumped up and kept walking like nothing. That's what San Francisco has to celebrate.

@@djenkins555 Yes that is definitely an issue but not one that cant be fixed by some new laws and police enforcing the laws and the District Attorneys prosecuting. The farther we get from the pandemic the closer to reality/stable we also get. Be patient.

Bet they wish they didn't spend so much energy closing down everything on Folsom St about 30 years ago!
This City has fought the formation of entertainment districts tooth and nail for the last 50 years. In fact, any time one has threatened to emerge, they've broken it up.
Kind of hard to believe they're really changing tack at this point.
