Cuz SF people now hang out in Mission, Japantown, Stonestown, Mission Bay, Golden Gate Park, etc.

I want to go out to support the local businesses; but 10% inflation over the past several years and the micro taxes and fees at SF restaurants are off putting. A casual meal for pho or burritos for 4 ppl is easily $60-70.

It is sad that the city tried to milk the big business but squeeze small business dry

Have not been to the City (SF) in 2 years. Given the rampant crime, homelessness problem, lack of any affordable parking , congestion and so may closures of stores , businesses etc, there is little reason to visit SF from elsewhere in the Bay Area.

    I just paid $60 for 3 burritos. 😢

That's surprising. But -20% in sf is still more than both Oakland and sj together. The other thing is that these land owners simply want too much for rent.

Thing is that people are going out closer to home rather than heading in to "the city" -- downtown walnut creek, Concord, Clayton, etc. are more lively than ever

Exactly the east bay cities are booming, from Lafayette all the way down to Dublin. Noone wants to deal with "the city" now

Actually that’s not accurate. The restaurants during the week are almost Empty.

As soon as a family of 4 sets foot out the door will easily spend $175/day = 2 meals and gas money. This excludes any paid attractions/entertainments.

Notice how Sara didn't mention crime concerns in San Francisco and San Jose but leads the segue into Oakland with crime. KPIX makes a point of singling out Oakland and bombarding with crime stories every day

San Francisco is a beautiful city. It just needs the right people to run it. It's an American icon, and it is to be maintained and treated like one.

What the hell are you guys doing a new steady stream of positive “news” how great things are going? It looks to all of us like you have the keys to Gavin Newsom. 5 pop up shops??? Everything is now rectified.
