I shop in LIdl and Aldi, as I like German food. Their ham is way better than fake water injected English ham. Today I made Zuricher Geschnetzeltes with ingredients from Lidl. I'm British but I lived abroad and I find the way people in the UK are so snobby about supermarkets but still eat shit is hilarious. Lidl is about the only supermarket in the UK with a proper bakery section, the ones in Sainsbury's are hilarious, a massive superstore and the bread section is 95% plastic wrapped fake bread, with 3 types of baguette and 2 types of loaf being their entire offering of fresh bread. Petrol stations in the Netherlands have better and more extensive bakery sections. Enjoy your beans on toast, it's still shite even it is Heinz and Warburtons lol.

It was when we didn't have much at the time and a thrifty, but tasty meal was made from a tin of spaghetti in tom sauce, chopped slice of bacon, some sliced onion, topped with mash and a bit of grated cheese (optional). It was so yummy back then. I bet your fish finger pie/sandwich was just as tasty : ) A big memory filled thumbs up from me xx
Bit late maybe but you know it's thriftier to buy a pack of dry spaghetti? A 400g tin of Asda essentials spaghetti (23p) has about 180g of cooked spaghetti, but 500g of dry spaghetti (currently 32p from Asda) can make 1,210g of cooked spaghetti, more than 6 times as much. 6 x 23p is £1.38 so you have £1.06 left, really one jar of pasta sauce (47p) is enough for all that spaghetti, leaving 49p. It's always cheaper and nicer to cook from scratch if you have time.
If ever you want to break up with someone but feel bad about doing it, then I suggest making one of Kay's recipes for that person, they will break up with you and you will be guilt-free

I imagine the fish fingers were frozen? If have just banged them in the oven for a bit, less chance of breaking and going mushy as you don't have to touch them while cooking
