  • The day of the pact between Induráin and Chiappucci that forever changed the Tour de France history. One of the hardest stages in the history of cycling, which opened the doors of a glorious era for the Spanish cyclist that would last a whole five years. Lemond, Bugno and other cyclists could only succumb. A new era began on the road to Val Louron.

I was there for every stage, it was an epic TDF, one of the very best in history.
Thanks for bringing great memories back, only please work on pronouncing rider & mountain names correctly.

The only tour Indurain won and showed initiative. The rest of his Tours were wone in the Time trials and in the mountains he would just follow. it was in my opinion, one of the most boring era's in the Tour's history.
Indurain was all in all a very limited rider. Never won a monument or a world championship title, the classica San Sebastian is his biggest one day victory and with only 91 professional victories he doesn't rank amongst the greats of the sports in my opinion. And if it wasn't for his TT abilities, he would have never won a GT. I don't like riders who only ride the Tour and do peanuts for the rest of the season.
He wouldn't even make my top 10 of TDF champions, despite his 5 GC victories. More complete and more attractive riders than Big Mig are in that list.

Thank you for your opinion. Completely respectable.
He never attacked because he was so superior that he didn't need to. Look at the stages of La plange 95 and Hautacam 94. You may not like them, but they´re beastly. I suppose his reasons would have for don´t go to the classics, but in two world championships he got a silver medal winning the sprint. In addition to all this, excellent down...
      Is our opinion. Thanks

@@epiccyclists also, he and his generation were all doped to the gills so none of it matters apart from being entertainment.
