I had a 2004. Moose jet kit, vh pipe, big brake and suspension. I found the stock 15-38 to be exactly right for the road. For off road I eventually landed on 14-43. You do add a link and the axle ends up in a good place. 2nd gear is pretty much where first was. Top speed is not pleasant above 65
Very nice I love it bro and your bike is sounding great! Fantastic!
Thank you man! I appreciate it!
@@WheelieWeasel you are very welcome bro thank you :)
Love ya vids
Thank you brotha!
I had a 2011 Ninja 250R. I constantly had to worry about it misfiring/sputtering. It never left me stranded but it was a constant worry. Most of the time it would come out of it while riding but I had to occasionally clean out the carb jets.
I think that’s what I’ll have to end up doing to this!
Nice bike bro I got a mint 99 rm125 🤟
I took my Gen3 to 16/38. Much better road runner now. I spend 90%+ of my miles on the Interstate. I've come to believe that the KLR650 only has 3 weaknesses. Thermobob, Doohickey, and gearing. I don't believe they need to add a gear either, they just need to spread them out.... A lot.
2024 has non of those other than gearing....an old man causing hysteria to sell the solution he makes is just that
Nah,just a beast. A HEAVY beast.
What sprocket you got on the rear? I have a 14t front waiting for spring. I have a oem 43 as well. But, I'm wanting to gear for this. I don't need highway speeds. As long as the KLR can still do 60 mph comfortably as well as this off roading. I'll be happy ;)
My KLR 250 on stock 15 44 is nice tractor. I just had a 14 teeth put on for more torque and that is what I look for in offroad bikes
I ended up having a 47 on the rear! It still has plenty of top end as of now. It’ll hit around 85mph at full throttle
@@WheelieWeasel yeah I'm having difficulties finding a 47t. 14t and 46t should give similar results
Great video Bro. Stay safe out there riding. Get ya self some MX boots , you make me cringe when you stick ya feet out , and you don't wanna go hitting tree stumps they hurt I know lol.
i have two pair I just don’t like how stiff they are. I only lift my feet up when I go over mud holes lmao. It’s not like I’m lifting my feet or sticking them out in front of rocks or logs. I watch where I’m going trust me lol. I’ve hit my feet enough to know it hurts
Nice riding boots. 😮 keep those toes in. If you like them. Watched a dude in full riding gear clip a cut downed tree mangle his foot not going very fast either 🤦♂️👍🏻
I’ve smacked my foot on rocks and branches enough to know it hurts lol. Riding boots don’t make the rider.
@@WheelieWeasel Good luck bud 👍🏻
I've seen that video too, scary as shit to think that someone on proper riding boots can still get his foot completely pierced like that by a stick.
@@alessandrogallo7969 I’ve seen the video y’all mentioned. The reason the stick stuck in him like that is he wasn’t paying attention and hit his shit on a branch at like 25mph. Gotta pay attention to help prevent things like that also
@@alessandrogallo7969 I wish I got this on video, this dude basically ripped his big toe and the one next to it almost all the way off . It was nasty. Dudes dead now of an od.
