  • Coaching lightweights and coaching heavyweights is - in certain areas - a different ball game. In this video, I am pointing out some of the differences, although I am sure, I have missed many more.

Glad you touched the nutrition issue. Are there general nutrition guidelines for rowers across the year in the different seasons? ( i.e. does the long chain carb rule work for masters&heavyweights?)

What's the best way to get a crew to gel together with little training time. So what exercises etc.

What would you recommend a former lightweight who is 20kg overweight and wants to weight the same weight he had 20 years ago? A spinning bike with wattmeter is available as well as a few weights and a SZ Stange for the training of the arms and upper body. Does interval training on the bike burns more fat than longer bike rides with lower intensity? How many hours per day and how many training days per week are necessary? Nutrition wise I don‘t think that keto is healthy and would like to eat vegetables, fruits and occasional meat.

Is erging with shoes vs no shoes going to affect erg times?

you would be a little faster with shoes.

Interesting because JDS rows without shoes and still goes so fast
