The Crosstrek came out for the 2013 model year and is still one of the most seen vehicles on the road today, even though it's in a saturated market. No, it won't be able to do either a desert Baja race or the Pike's Peak Hill Climb, but it can actually do what it markets unlike most of it's competition.
The Crosstrek can do the daily with ease and most weekend adventures. And now with the all new even more rugged Wilderness Edition, Subaru says it can take you even further off the path.
Because this is a dealer vehicle we will concentrate more on the daily than on the adventure side of things, but like in life, that's where we spend most of our time.
We take a look at the facts, feels and final thoughts of the all new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. Come take a look!
*Please note that I am human and could be wrong on some of my “facts”, but still they give a good idea if considering the vehicle in your shopping.
I've borrowed this vehicle from Subaru of London (thank you!!).

Finally a full review of the crosstrek wilderness….thanks!
No problem! I really enjoyed it 😊
I've had the Crosstrek Wilderness for nearly a week and I absolutely love it!!! Mines in the Lithium Red which looks wayyyyy better in person than on the online configurator. Will be taking it on my road trip to the grand canyon in a few weeks! Keep up the great work!
Amazing! Enjoy and what a great road trip!
I got the same color. Way better looking in person. Having a blast with it.
@@dmooch13 Awesome!
That was very thorough; much appreciated 🤘🏼.
Very welcome:) Thanks for commenting!
Waiting patiently for my Crosstrek Wilderness ✌🏾
Congrats 🥳
I have 500 miles on my Crosstrek Wilderness now. Fuel economy since I drove it out of the lot with 5 miles on the odometer is 26.7 mpg - mixed driving with an hour long traffic jam mixed in that. The seats feel great and are very comfortable, I love the handling of it, and the turn radius is very tight. I came from a pickup that regularly saw 12.6 mpg, turned like a tractor trailer, and handled like a huge yacht. This is definitely a much nicer day to day vehicle. My only gripe is the HK Audio system, which is a love and hate relationship for me. It sounds great, but then at times there is vibrations coming from the front passenger door panel when there are certain bass sounds, which is driving me crazy.
Great comments! Always nice to hear from someone that’s has spent real time in something reviewed! Great vehicle:)
If you're willing to get under the door card, applying dampeners or MLV panels around the speakers might help with that bass resonance.
Good review, I like the reference with the hockey. I need room we are 3 hockey player at home. To be perfefct I will have take the turbo engine from the Levorg in Japan and an manual trsmission like we have in our Forester 2015... But I really thinking changing my Civic hatchack 18 for this new wilderness in green...😇
Thank you!! I’m a Civic person but also own a 2020 Subaru BRZ RS and love it! Subaru seems to be very reliable on top of being very capable which I appreciate:)
Great video we livecin Colorado and like to offroad
Thank you!! I bet there are some fun trails there! CrossTrek seemed pretty tough for a car. No Jeep but seemed like it was pretty capable. Thanks for commenting
Subaru needs to bring back an automatic transmission and turbo for the crosstrek.
What’s the width with the mirrors included?
According to Edmunds it’s 71.7 inches:)
@@Neutralreviews that’s the answer I found for without mirror and 80” with but I know that is impossible because my Honda fit measures 80” exact with mirrors that’s what I got with me and another person measuring even Honda fit without mirrors is 60” so on average each mirror has to be around 10” but then Subaru says width without mirrors is 71/72 so it would be around 91/92 but I just wanted to be sure before I even waste time driving to a dealer to look at em and waste my day
@@christophermccord3757 interesting! I only the car for a couple hours because it was a busy Saturday for the dealership and I don’t have any more to measure.
Do a Crosstrek WRX already Subaru. You have all the parts necessary, just put it all together in Japan and profit.
That sounds like a fun one!
DO YOU have to shut the auto "START/STOP" crap off every time-- or once and LEAVE it off? I've seen an OBD plugin device sold that disables it--- so I'm guessing you have to turn this off every time you get in it? (It SHOULD be outlawed.. it's STUPID..)
I can't remember but agree! They drive me nuts
I'm liking these little buggers more all the time-- EXCEPT for that huge ugly assed screen sticking up there-- NO ONE needs that much screen in there messing up the look. I never use that crap - or rarely anyway.. only the back up cam- or maybe maps once or twice a year.. They could take it out and throw it away and not hurt my feeling any.
Ha! I do often wonder if one day i'll review an SUV with a 60inch TV in the front lol
CVT stands for CERTAINLY VERIFIED TRASH.... IF- I F you get the third party transmissions ... NOT the ones MADE by SUBARU themselves or the ones from TOYOTA made IN HOUSE-- only the third party ones are junk... (I use to HATE the mention of CVT-- but have since learned the TRUTH-- and theyre NOT bad- IF DONE RIGHT- and Subaru does and so does Toyota.)
agreed!
