I just bought my 21 yo daughter a 2024 Crosstrek Limited. Did not pay up for the moonroof or Harmon Karden so it was around 32K. She loves it and I feel good she is driving a safe and capable car in the pacific northwest of Washington.

I really love that color. My first new car (I'm old) was a 1972 Monte Carlo in the color they called Mohave Gold which was barely different from this and I loved it and this! I'm trying to decide between the Crosstrek and the Mazda CX-5. I know they aren't in the same "class" but they are similarly priced. Love the channel!

I just bought the Sapphire Blue Pearl Limited trim a few weeks ago. This is my first Subaru. The ride is very comfortable and the fuel economy is very good. In my opinion, at ≈ $35K it should include a power lift gate on the two upper trims. Great video BTW. These videos are great for first-time new owners. Thanks.

It's nice that LED headlights are finally standard on all trim levels of the Crosstrek. They make a BIG difference in nighttime visibility. That said, I prefer the looks and the interior of the 2018-23 Crosstrek. The door panels and center console of the '24 look a bit low-rent compared to the previous gen, and the loss of physical buttons & knobs for the HVAC, auto start-stop, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning are unfortunate. There are some other nits against the '24 that I have as well, but I'll keep this shorter. Personally, I like my '23 Limited better, but the '24 Crosstrek is still a good car.

I don't trust a belt/chain design CVT to consistently last much past 100-120K, if even that. But automakers today really only care about the vehicle lasting "trouble-free" for the duration of the power-train warranty period, & thus design & compromise accordingly.

Watched this about 5x now and made me even more excited about my 2024 Crosstrek Limited (Sun Blaze) factory order. The ETA is August. (Would have liked the Wilderness, but couldn’t wait past August). @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 How was the HK audio on the '24 Limited? Subaru supposedly went from 8 speakers to 10 speakers for '24 and supposedly the front door speakers are 7x10" subwoofers, the rear doors and dash are compound mid range and tweeters. I am curious if those 7x10" door woofers actually produced any meaningful bass. I'm kinda hoping it arrives a little earlier, like late July. But, there is no build day as of yet, and the dealer was able to add in the factory splash guard option for me today. I originally wanted the Subaru mud flaps, but the factory won't install the accessory mud flaps and the dealer wanted $225 to install them because they had to drill and possible remove the back wheels to be able to drill into the wheel well for the Subaru accessory mud flap install.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  Před rokem +1

I wish I could tell you. There’s a substantial improvement in a HK system over the stock system (like the 24 Base I drove). But listening to random radio songs with average levels of bass while I drive the cars off camera, I personally don’t notice the differences well enough to provide much insight about the new generation vs. the last gen. Sorry I can’t be more helpful on that topic 😛. $225 does feels very steep for simply drilling in some new mud flaps, unless that includes the product as well?

I’ve also not researched the difference in alarming the system by pushing the lock button 2x vs. 3x, as with 3x the horn also honks. I agree about the hybrid variant, now discontinued: it just didn't make sense. Next generation, maybe. The CVT shifting is *not* "simulated:" regardless of not having little gears internally, understand that the paddles allow shifts between actual, physical, preset gear ratios between the two large, internal shift drums. Comparisons of exterior dimensions are virtually-always given in inches, not feet.

I got 30-33 MPG during my road trip from California to Florida and then up to Indiana and Illinois and back to California.... The MPG of my BMW is very similar to this new Cross Trek... My BMW is only $10,000 more, and I get all the luxury convenience and comfort.... it drives like a dream....fast...perfect handling....exceptional craftsmanship....30 MPG average.... @AutomotiveAnonymous208  Před 11 měsíci

I honestly think they’re quite reliable. I hardly hear about failures on the Subaru forums I check out. Issues with them don’t seem to come up any more often than other brands. The main issue I have is if one does fail outside of your powertrain warranty, and Subaru of America doesn’t help you out, it’s a costly replacement. I’ve heard they cost around 8k to replace, rather than a basic 3-4K automatic rebuild. With that said, I own an Outback Wilderness and likely will for a while. I think the daily Subarus benefits outweigh the unlikely risk of potential failure years down the road. But I’m also not someone who keeps vehicles much past the warranty periods (that’s my splurge in life, lol). Best of luck on what you decide! 🙂

Sort of disappointed in the "redesign". It is more of an update rather than a redesign. This model basically came out in 2017, and the only significant upgrade has been the availability of the much needed 2.5L engine. For 2024, they should have made the 2.5L standard, and added a 210 or so hp turbo for the Sport and Wilderness editions. Their AWD system is still probably the best in the segment, but the other manufacturers have caught up in terms of powertrain and safety features. The Impreza/Crosstrek are still good values in the lower trim lines, but the value equation is much more debatable for the upper trims which are required to get the better engine. For instance, the CX-30 has the 2.5L standard in all trim lines (in the US anyway). Also for close to the price of a Crosstrek Sport or Limited you can get a Kia Seltos with more space, navigation, Bose stereo, 8 speed automatic and a 195 hp turbo. I am also not a fan of removing the physical buttons for climate control and replacing them with the huge touch screen.

From the dealer, I’m not sure… but you could always call Subaru of America and ask if you qualify for any discount coupons for being a new or returning customer. Best of luck! 🙂

I was able to use VIP pricing (invoice) by joining Leave No Trace (one of a half dozen organizations that qualify) plus a $500 Subaru Loyalty Coupon to get about 10% total off a loaded ‘24 Impreza RS. Check if your local dealer(s) participate. It was painless as could be from the ordering - took about six weeks to arrive - to the final purchase with no issues whatsoever.

Thanks for the great review. It's disappointing that the 2023 Crosstrek is no longer an IIHS top safety pick based on the poor rating received in the updated moderate overlap front and side crash tests. Hopefully they will make some design changes to address this for the 2024 model.

It would be much better video if you just stop walking back and force. $36K for a small Subaru with NA engine and CVT is a bot too thick if you ask me. They used to sell top of the line STI for 37..
I owned 4 Subaru's and all been OK. But not any more. Not until they stop with TV in the middle and CVT at the very list. I'd love to have something with 2.5T and 6 speed manual, but I doubt this will ever happen.

You’re right, in my most recent videos and going forward I’m doing more editing to fix that and show even more higher quality footage.
I agree, it’s crazy. But also perspective. 37k a few years ago was worth a lot more in purchasing power than it is now in 2023.
I completely agree. I wish my personal Outback wilderness with the 2.4 turbo had a 6 speed option. The CVT is very smooth and can get 30mpg at times, but not as fun, reliable, or enthusiast focused.
      Thanks for watching! 🙂

    Just bought 2024 Crosstrek Limited
The headlights on a dark unlit road are terrible. LED lights too low and dont illuminate enough to see what's around you. There are 2 dark spots that travel around in the lights and are like floaters in your eyes. Sometimes looks like something crossing in front of you. Very bad and dangerous design. Dealership adjusted them twice for me and actually made it worse. Was told I just have to live with it. Surprised it never came up in reviews. Had I test driven at night never would have purchased.
