Sure if you are stuck with an asshole, you are stuck with him for the rest of the game and that will suck, but the same asshole would try their damn hardest just to avoid losing their mmr, making comeback surprisingly doable. "I may hate that fucker, but damn he really is playing.... fuck him, I can do that too!" is the begrudging respect I love to see in these matches.

Dota1 days was a wild time. In Philippines, every internet Cafe is filled of Dota Players, and everyone are just screaming and shouting lmao. It's a literal battlefield of trash talk. NGL it's the good old days

If you've been playing many competitive games for a long time you will realised that, it's just how people is in competitive games
in dota2 right now there is an OFFICIAL voice line that you can spam in the middle of the game at any time, which says "Adios payasos" (goodbye clowns in spanish) valve definitely doesn't care if his community continues to be f toxic at this point lol
That voice line spam is more meme-y than toxic imo. The same like 10 voice lines keep getting spammed it gets annoying sometimes and it refreshes like every international lol
Trash talk is not toxic. Toxic is feeding, afking in fountain, and writing about how much they want someone to Epstein themselves. League is full of that. Dota is mostly banter.
When you allow people the option to do something in a controlled way, they're less compelled to act upon it because it becomes normal and uninteresting

In Dota 1 I remember going cm dagon 5 and getting trashed talked even after we won. This was before roles were figured out and you were more free to experiment with weird stuff. That was the best time for DotA.

I actually started playing League this year because of Bettel and Axel. I never really took an interest in it before but I’ve had a great time. Even as a new player I’ve only ever had a hard time with a handful of players, but I’ve also made quite a few friends just from playing the game! A lot of my old friends starting getting into it again (but some for the first time) and I think it really put a new spark into our friend group.
I avoided playing it for a while because all you hear is “haha League toxic” but now I think I really missed out until now.
It's been a while since I saw a new player, are you gonna watch the world's finals later?

I played both.
Dota is way more accessible, with all Heroes being available and EVERYONE and their mother has a Steam account now. And not to mention that DOTA is cross-region, you can just use one account and play on all servers while you'll need to start from Scratch with League. It's still super annoying to grind a new alt account on League with how ridiculous the early game grind is, and the most efficient method were to literally grind bot matches for like 10 hours (dunno if it's any different now).
But for the games themselves, League is way easier for beginners. Movement is League is smoother due to higher character rotation speed (as in you can make a 180 turn easier), it offers comeback mechanics that puts you back in the game while a Dota game can really snowball out of control (denying means playing against experienced players can really fuck you up, I've had games where someone on my team were like 5 levels down). And in Dota games can regularly stall out for over an hour because you need to win TWO fights to properly close out games (because of buybacks)
Dota's "comeback" mechanic varies between update. To the point where one update basically is a snowball fest, and the other update was comeback fest.
And currently dota is in a weird version than the majority of its life. The meta used to be able to support creative but unusual play; like carry IO, 1-3-1, 1-1-1-jungle-roam, roshan rush. Nowaday the meta can't support that kind of play, so it became like league in a way.

League doesn't have turning point, there's no rotation time at all. And it's not better. It kills the benefit from attacking from the back. Turning point is there for a reason.
The team that won ti12 is literally known for "playing from behind". Most of their games are won with comebacks.

League had one of the worst reputation for toxicity in the gaming community (to the point that it was synonymous with each other), and the players keep wondering why Riot keeps removing communication options.
Used to show every ones loading bars so everyone could blame the guy who is playing with the potato, then they removed it and now if its a slow load everyone's just pissy at everyone instead. Used to show everyone's individual ping so if someone was playing from half way around the world they could blame the games lag on them, then they removed it and now and its really laggy everyone just gets pissy at everyone. Used to show everyone's rank and so when someone is playing with their diamond ranked friend and your bronze ranked team had to play against a team of diamonds we had someone to blame, now we have to used a third party website and thankfully you can not do that in ranked. Idk I think Riot fails at combating toxicity because toxic players provide income and player numbers, they could place them in a toxic queue but their excuse if that happens they will never learn.
If league actually adds voice chat, it would reduce toxcity. Majority of the time, players ping others in there lane, and pinging can be miss read easily to the point players automatically assume it's to call out on his stupidity, when in actuality it was meant for a positional advantage, or "Push wave". No one really communicates efficiently with text chat because it takes too long to explain to your laners what to actual do and build and how to interact and when to roam and flank, ect.
If voice chat was added, it would relieve so much stress and would make the game more of a "Team game". Like, why keep the most powerful communication tool away in a team game where seconds count?
@@NuclearNuke41 Why take on the responsibility of putting strangers in voice chat together. Most people that want to talk to each other are already on discord together and there are a decent number of players that just mute pings and chat. The headaches voice chat would bring them far outstrip any benefit they would see returned.
Meanwhile Valve realized Dota players will be toxic with or without the added communication options, so they just add them in anyway.
If players don't want to deal with voice chat, they can mute voice chat. I still fail to see the problem here. Sure, you will get some toxic voice chatters. but that happens for every game that has existed.@@xxkildarxx

I hope soon we can have a vtuber dota community where they have tournaments of their own kinda like apex. And if it does pop off? I know for sure, that dota community will support it like crazy. Like a side event for dota for sure. Who knows we might even get vtuber dota 2 system alongside the pro scene stuff. Ya'know, stickers, capsules, voicelines, floor sprays, flags.
If League Of Legends adds voice chat, it would make the game less toxic. Like, where seconds count, why keep the most powerful tool away from a team game? Communicating with text chat takes too long to explain to a teammate who has no idea what he is doing and has no idea what to build. Voice chat can save so much stress just by telling him verbally "Hey, your champion sucks against your laner, build this, max upgrade that, go hover river to help your jungler have prio for scuttle, roam now for a midlane flank" ect.
being toxic in league is a culture, its fun and funny at times the amount of bullshit you hear from people so vc will only amplify that for better and for worse. time and time again league has tried to limit what people can do with the things they have to be toxic but we will always find a way.

Played League for 5 years now, i couldn't take it so i uninstalled it and installed Dota 2. Been playing for a week and havent gotten any toxic players yet but its unranked so im hoping its better than League.. But it also has voice chat so..

Oh, how nice it is to know that Nerissa’s signature hero is Lanaya. I always knew that only particularly cultured (f.e blitzspanks) people love Templar Assassin. I myself played more than 2k hours on it and would have played even more, but I don’t like the meta of the last 2 years.

Truthfully, MOBAs in general are just toxic. You can’t escape that fact if you play one. Even a more casual MOBA like HOTS (RIP) or Pokémon Unite has plenty of those players.
Its all about skill ceiling. The higher the skill ceiling the more time people practice a game to play it. As a result more ppl know wtf they're doing as the babies get scared away from the fact that they just lose and lose and lose no matter what because they can't break the initial skill ceiling of simply playing the game. Lots of modern games want a win button instead of the retro era grindset of working up to getting good at a game. And winning is a culmination of long practice and constant instructive failure.
So by the time you're a regular player, you're a viable teammate. Add the fact that such games have a lower player pop, so everyone knows everybody. And if you want to continue playing the game, you don't want to be pissing people off. You have a limited pool of players to form teams with.

It's works like this - something is more popular, so it means it has more player base. Bigger pb means more diverse types of players, which will eventually go for bigger reactions and leading behaviour. Because dota is more popular in, for example, Russia, and have bigger pb in there, compared to league, it has more toxic people in there(where's a lot of sexism, racism) and reverse in ru league server. It doesn't mean, that it's not toxic, but percentage of it in there is much less, than in d2... But... I will agree, that lol community in euw is the most toxic shet ever.
In the clown world that is Riot's "Player Support and Behavior" team, somehow being """"toxic""" as in saying bad words in the chat is somehow worse and more easily bannable than the amount of griefing, game ruining, boosting, account sharing in this hellhole of a game. Someone could be running it down mid and if you say anything rude to him or leave the game because you don't want to be held hostage until 20 minutes YOU are the one to be punished.

Dota 2 is a better game, but LoL is a lot more simplistic (in a good way) and easier to digest. The games are also significantly shorter in LoL. LoL has the advantage of having a support role that's actually fun to play, so I play support in LoL and pos 1-3 in Dota 2, because the support life is so absolutely miserable in Dota. Though if I had to choose just one, it would definitely be Dota 2.
That's strange. Sure years ago support is absolute hell to play(around early to mid 2010s) but power creep and qol changes has been in favour for supports for so long that it's honestly not that bad anymore. You're no longer just a poor ward bitch. You get to buy some fancy shit now if you play well.

what captivates me in league is mostly the splash art, skins and the lore. you also don't need to be that competetive to have fun as you can still scale pretty well when behind. whereas dota punishes you hard. its better for tryhard/competetive players. just my opinion tho

Oh, try playing Dota on the EU server. To be fair, it's been like 9 years since I've played, but I remember Russians being so absolutely toxic on their dedicated Russian Server so they would leave for the East Europe (sometimes even West Europe) server, but instead of doing it as a break from toxicity, they would bring toxicity with them.
If you load into a pub game with a russian player or two, your mother is about to have many, many romantic adventures.

League is More fun frr because of the shorter games and less complicated mechanics imo. Easier to get into and to master so you can focus on getting better. Faster Pace, focuses more on the gameplay rather than the graphics, smaller learning curve(it don't overwhelm you with all the options for champ/hero, .. etc.)
League is just easier for the Casuals. Shorter games are better than the hour long+ per games imo. Most people/casuals arent willing to spend that much time on a game especially if they are losing the whole game. Better to tilt for 30mins than 1h+ LMAO
I've played both, i have different group of friends who are die hard gamers on either games lol. Not having a free teleport back to base anytime made me hate the experience more on top of everything lmao.
But at the end of the Day, People love the game that they started/got introduced with More than the other.

I miss being toxic in league. Spam pinging "Missing" on someone after they mess up is nice. Especially when the entire team is watching and you just see a whole lot of it.

I came from Dota 6.12, not Dota 2 patch 6.12, but Dota Allstars v6.12. That's the first version I played on WC3 Frozen Throne map.
League released, played that for few years until Dota2 released.
Changed to Dota 2 and played it until 2015 where I graduated and started working.
I thought I liked MOBA games until I tried coming back to it and realized all if not most of them are fuckin kids with bad manner and thinking to myself why the fuck would I play with these people.
League isn't toxic. League is the default state of a community. It's just that most other communities are a whole lot nicer than League's.
7/10 people who played league, played dota 2 and 7/10 people who play dota also play league. And they dont play both at the same time, they switch between it and they brought their toxicity with them. I used to love dota 2 but the toxicity really just makes the game no fun to play.

What's LP in League? That's such a dreaded initials for us Dota players, Low Priority, as it's punishment for naughty or outright toxic players that abandon games and gets reports.
Best thing about toxicity in dota is that we get used to it so much (and valve just constantly adding more ways to it with sprays, taunts, voice lines and tips system) it all become way less serious, no one telling you to commit sudoku irl because of mistake, you'll just get tipped most of the time but Dota is way harder for begginers than League so be ready to recieve a lot of tips XD

you buy skins in dota 2. :x or parts of the skin you want really. and it can become cheap or expensive depending on what you want. some of the items can go up to 100-700? forgot which ones are the most expensive but there is some crazy pricing for some of the items. think why dota 2 is just a bit more better in some regards then league while league is better in others. :x i would love to see dota and league do a crazy cross over but since riot got bought out. i don't think it will ever come... i wanna be sniper and own bot lane against league players with their carries. :v

i hate to break it to you.. both are toxic. dota 2 are oldies who grew up on warcraft 3 . while lol are millenials . anything competitive breeds toxicity is a fact. just go play cs 2 and valorant and see what toxic means .
