Best presentation I've seen of this camera so far...congratulations...better suited to the US market, cause it comes with a backing plate; in EU market no frame is provided by AutoVox/Boscam, while the factory or usual mounting frame is shorter and the mounting position may not allow screwing the solar or both the solar and camera in place....some aftermarket plastic frames provide more options, but I wish it came with an EU mounting frame as well, to facilitate use, instead of requiring market search / multiple tests to find a matching one.
Hook up a unit to my reverse light wire near the backup light housing pass the rear computer control on my 09 honda pilot. Ran a wire to the control unit between the inside of wall panels of vehicle. At the wire was a 12 volt accessory plug and make sure to ground it. Plug in your factory 12v male into it and run your wire to final resting place for your monitor. And it will work like a factory install unit.
Great video. I like seeing the video quality at night time. One question - Does the monitor drains the car battery if I leave it plugged to the cigarette lighter? thx
My camera is only 2 weeks old and stop working. I have camera charging 10 hours now but no green light. I tried to reset but no luck pairing any suggestions?
WARNING: may not be suitable for colder climates. I have 2 of these cameras; bought one and the company replaced it when it stopped working. Both are non-functional now. I'm assuming there is some correlation between cold weather and the cameras malfunctioning as the wintertime was when they both stopped working.
Good to know. Here it never gets that cold. I put this on a friend's car after the demo as i have a factory backup camera. It still works. Could be low temperature affecting the battery. Here it rarely goes below freezing and when it does it is only a couple of days in January.
@@12voltvids Being able to record behind you while backing up could come in handy should something happen, or if something is behind your vehicle that is taking place. Video proof is always good to have. At this price point and as cheap as cameras have become it seems like it would not be too much to ask for. Just my two cents. However, It is a handy gadget with no wiring. Wireless is always more expensive even though it shouldnt be. Cheers.
Because it has a micro usb to initially charge the battery or recharge it after long storage. In normal use when the car is out in the sun the solar cell will keep the battery fully charged.
Looks about the same as my factory camera if you watch the cross traffic. Keep in mind that when I walked up the street I got out if signal and did some editing which may have made it look jumpy. On the car it performed flawlessly.
I can only comment on the sample i received. It performed as demonstrated and as far as i know still functions as the person that has it on their car would have let me know if it didn't work.

Still working. I have it on my work truck.
Mine stopped working after 30 days. Monitor is just black. Recharged it, reset it and nothing. Company has not responded.

The manual says 60 days with no light. It says if car is going to be parked for more than 60 days to turn the power off.

No it turns off after 90 seconds.

It still works. I just received the new model, and will be reviewing that one this week. The other one is on a relatives car and works great.

Does it only get power from sunlight? Or does it also get power from the license plate light at night?
Sunlight charges the lithium cell in the frame. No license plate does not charge. Need much more light than that to produce a charge.
Could it function much like a dashcam if you mount it on the front of the car?

Kinda pricey. And would have been nice if they would have included a dvr capability with an sd card slot at that price.
Why would you need DVR capabilities. That's what a dashcam is for. This is to see what is behind you for backing up.

bought this...screen completely black all indicators show ready to go....totally useless bad deal and NO customer service at all
