    Your adventures to check out the Ramsey Canyon park was pretty, I loved those huge trees! Also I have often wondered how much time and effort goes into building those amazing wood fences... Probably a disapearing Art as new generations are not into hard physical work as much... Sorry the spaces weren't large enough for your 40 foot Pusher.

      Yeah and I think they are much cuter than pigs .
      Funny about the skunk pig ... do they always smell like that or do they give off that scent after they've been frightened ?

    Free Bacon!! I wonder if the Wild boar meat is any good? When I was in Texas visiting my family I saw quite a few of the big black pigs around mostly "road kill"

    • @JCTravelStories
      @JCTravelStories  Před 6 měsíci +2

      I've eaten wild boar in Texas and it’s very good. Javelina are not pigs or even related to pigs. They are peccary, but I'm told they eat good, too.

      @dianaj3139 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@JCTravelStories Thanks for the reply... that just peaked my memory when you mentioned peccary, when I lived in Belize I believe they had something similar... the locals were terrified of them and I heard stories of people being up a tree for hours before they gave up. As always I love your adventures. Thank you!

      Arizona's Javelina season starts in January with archery & continues with HAM and finishes off with the general rifle season until the end of February.

    The wild pig problem is out of control in the south southwest states. Here in Oklahoma, they can over nite damage pastures and crops. They are hunted year round by individuals who contract to take out populations with traps and hunting them with helicopters. At best, it's a losing battle. Their birth rate is off the charts. Shalom

    Javelinas are Not related to pigs/swine. Javelinas are native to rhe Americas. Pigs were introduced to the Americas by the Spanish explorers. Javelinas are true peccaries. There was a story this week on the news about javelinas overtaking a golf course in Sedona, other end of AZ. Animals that prey on them are the cougar, coyote and wolves and those animals are declining. Feral hogs are a completely different problem. Javelinas are small, 50 lbs or so. Feral hogs can be 300-500 lbs. Once you see both of them, you'll never confuse them

    @michaelmurray9643 Před 6 měsíci +1

    So instead of putting up with those pesty Javelina's, why don't you get yourself a BB Rifle or pistol ? Won't really hurt them but it'll sting enough to remind them this your area is inhospitable .
    Also Jerry, been meaning to ask you for the longest time. I know you've been asked this question a million times but I'm dying to find out. How the heck do you keep mice out of the coach. I understand it's a common and big problem for RV'ers. What say ye ????

    • @JCTravelStories
      @JCTravelStories  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Mice …. I don't keep them out, but I have traps and get one occasionally. Mint oil helps.
