I was a SW fan growing up but when I got into high school not so much. But I remember when my brother told me there was gonna be another movie I was like okay whatever. But I remember watching the movie in theaters on Christmas Day & seeing Rey on screen and relating with her so much she was this 19 year old girl trying to find her place in the world, as was I. and just being in awe of how creative the movie and SW universe is! So the force awaken in Rey & also in me because it relit my love for Star Wars! Rey holds a very special place in my heart! 💛
The Force Awakens is my favorite of the 5 new Star Wars movies. So fun. It was awesome being introduced to new characters. It was also such a nostalgic trip seeing the classic characters and the Falcon!

Great episode ladies 2015 was a year to remember.
I really loved BB-8. He was so cute and funny and was a fantastic new addition to the wonderful droids of Star Wars. I also really loved Maz and hope that we get to see more of her in stories. Fingers crossed for a cameo in Book of Boba, Ahsoka, and/or Mandaloian S3.

I love how the original trilogy hinges on the relationship between father and son, then the prequel trilogy is the relationship between brothers, and finally the sequel trilogy caps it off with the relationship between mother and son and mother and daughter with Leia acting as a mother to both Ben and Rey. Even the Clone Wars has an emphasis on the relationship between brother and sister with Anakin and Ahsoka. I mean Star Wars has famously always been deeply grounded in family and family values but until The Rise of Skywalker we’ve never gotten the whole family; Father, Mother, Son, and Daughter. It’s just another reason why I love the sequel movies so much, and all of Star Wars in general.

Rey is the obvious choice for favorite character. She’s smart, determined, confident, and brave, but also so human. She gets scared, she has emotions, I feel like she’s a Star Wars character that is more relatable than others. Also loved Maz, like, how can you not?

My favorite new character from the sequels is probably Poe, although it kind of shifts between Poe, Finn and Rey depending on the day lmao. I just love his snark and sass, and his big heart.
My favorite new character from Bad Batch is Omega, she is just too sweet.

when janay said they are no happy ending relationships in star wars i died LOL because she's so right!! like even in the shows like hera & kanan and especially sabine & obi-wan everyone has such sad relationship endings 😭
Favorite new character was probably Poe and Finn...I am not picking between the two! Poe has the best lines! I love his sense of humor and like the jokes in serious moments like facing down Kylo Ren with his lightsaber and he's cracking jokes. Finn because we meet him and right away he chooses to leave the First Order and the escape scene with these two is one of my favorite moments of the movie!
Poe does have great lines! The entire film truly is so quotable, which is fun. The moment Poe and Finn meet you just know they're going to hit it off! It's great.
I grew up on the original trilogy thanks to my mum (she saw the original trilogy at the cinema) and I got to see the prequels at the cinema. I loved it as a kid (I didn't want to be Leia or Han or Luke, I wanted to be Obi Wan Kenobi :'D) the negativity online after the prequels did effect how open I was about enjoying Star Wars and what I got into (it made me avoid the expanded universe stuff although that means I'm not attached to non cannon characters). I loved all the characters, Rey and BB8 are my favourites but I have a lot of love for Finn and Poe too, their characters and development. I think having a strong male friendship where they show emotion and care to each other is important, not all boys grow up knowing that, that is healthy and normal to express emotion.

Rey, she is awesome and before this movie there had been no live action women lightsaber wielders and as a kid it was disappointing to not get a lightsaber wielding girl

Coming into the fandom right before TROS, when I finally got to the sequels my interest was hightened. I love all the new characters and Harrison Ford gave my favorite performance. I think it was one of the best performances he gave us as Han. You can just see it all in his eyes from the moment he steps on the Millenium Falcon and says Chewie we're home. And honestly I can't think of a better way for Han to go than him fighting for his family and trying to bring his son home as tragic as it was.
I never even thought about which performance as Han was my favorite and I think I'm going to have to agree with you, that it's one of Harrison's best. Especially after not revisiting the character for such a long time. That's talent! -Jenmarie
