The Last Jedi is one of my favorite Star Wars movies! It's the worst one for me to put on for background because I will stop at a lot of scenes and just watch...especially as soon as Rey is on Snoke's ship I just stop and watch the rest of the movie. The throne room scene and everything on Crate is absolutely epic! And Luke's shoulder brush is one of my favorite Luke moments!
That's so cool that you love it that much! It totally makes sense why it doesn't make the best "background movie" for you since it's one of your favorites. honestly the last jedi isn't my favorite star wars movies, but after hearing all of your positive takes on it i feel like i need to rewatch the movie in a new light!! thank you both for bringing your unique perspectives on star wars & especially the sequels!!

I love the Last Jedi, it’s my favorite of the sequels. I really wish TROS would have connected it more. While I love the sequels, I don’t think they’re a complete trilogy. Force Awakens and the Last Jedi work so well together, and TROS for me really doesn’t conclude the previous films.
The absolute best part of the Last Jedi is the Holdo maneuver! Holdo’s immediate action, the silence, “God speed Rebels” ugh all of it is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
There's always so much to talk about that sometimes we miss discussing really cool moments, including the Holdo maneuver. What a theater experience that was!

I wasn’t sure about this movie when I saw it in the theaters, but I appreciate it so much more as time goes on. Every main character learns something, and the whole movie is intense.
To be a full sith, I think it’s just about being apart of that long chain. It’s a title that’s like handed down through the rule of 2. So Snoke was never Palpatine’s “apprentice” (especially since he’s just some kind of construct), so he couldn’t then make Kylo a Sith
im 100% a marvel fan and im so glad janay has been enjoying it!! black panther and black widow are some of my favorites but i love so many of them i cant keep track of my favorite favorite 😭😭

Soo, what I found is that Sith is a way of life, and when you become sith you follow that way of life. We often hear someone has sworn allegiance to the sith. Anakin did in episode 3 and given a Darth title. There are some however who just use the dark side of the force, Ventress is one in the book dark disciple, who taps into the dark side but not enough to let it control her. (She was once sith but chose to leave it behind). Then there are dark jedi who use the dark side but don't know about sith or their way of life, they either were a fallen jedi who chose to deny the light side or just follow the dark side not following sith or any other dark side organizations. Then there are inquisitors who are Acolytes, agents of the sith, not members of the sith. They are given basic force training and lightsaber combat. This was all interesting to find out. Wookieepedia for you, for all your star wars nerd needs. Love it.
This makes a lot of sense and the scene with Anakin in ROTS is the perfect example. Thank you!

I actually used to be a TLJ hater until around a year ago when I found the Rexin Around YT video with Kimya on Ben Solo/Kylo Ren. And it totally changed my view on the movie and made me appreciate the movie more! Today it’s one of my fav SW movies.
Also my fav Marvel movie is Guardians of the Galaxy! But I also reeeaallly love the new Black Widow movie ❤️

Last Jedi is such a good time! Love keeping up with all the MCU stuff as it comes out!
While last Jedi is not my favourite movie there are a lot of really cool scenes I love the fight scene of Rey and Kylo against the guards and Rose’s line of “ that’s how we win, not by fighting what we hate. By saving what we love.” Gets me every time

Great discussion! The set looks awesome! My favorite parts: the entire opening 😱 R2 showing Luke the projection of Leia, Rey training, Rey and Luke's duel, Yoda!, Rey and Kylo fighting the Pratorian guards, Holdo's light speed manuever, Luke and Leia in the resistance base, Finn's bravery and Rose stopping/saving him, Luke brushing the dust off his shoulder, Luke's speech to Kylo before ending the projection, Luke levitating over the rock (epic!), the Vulptex! (Crystal fox), Rey moving the rocks to let everyone out. Lots more I'm sure I'm forgetting lol
Thank you! Thanks for sharing your favorite moments too. You listed some really great ones we didn't mention, including Rey using the Force to lift the rocks and free her friends. It's really beautiful, especially seeing her reunite with Finn directly afterward.

Favorite marvel movie oof they are all so good!!!! But I love all the captain America movies! And it’s not a movie but I LOVE WANDAVISION!!!!!
And I think one of the most important scenes in TLJ is when Kylo kills snoke. He finally gets free of his abuser & he does it to protect Rey! Rey gives him the strength to finally be free of his abuser & take a step toward the light.
Also I always wondered why Kylo didn’t pick up on Luke being a force projection when Luke is wielding Anakin’s lightsaber..... the one Rey & Kylo just broke in half the scene before?
The Captain America movies are really good and Wandavision is my favorite of the Marvel Disney+ series so far! I can't believe we didn't mention the scene where Kylo kills Snoke. You're right, it's very important and it's extremely clever! I think that because Kylo was so focused on his hatred for Luke and killing him, he missed simple signs like that. It's kind of a similar situation with Snoke when Kylo killed him! Snoke was so overconfident and fixated on one thing that he was completely oblivious to Kylo's plan. -Jenmarie
Janay, my sister is also finally going through Marvel movies too. She's probably close to where you are at. I love all the movies but Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Captain America Civil War are my favorites...and Guardians of the Galaxy...and Thor Ragnorak. I could probably just keep listing them off because I do love them all!

I'm a big MCU fan. I have a lot of favorite movie... The Guardien of the Galaxy the first one, soo funny. Spider-Man Far from Home, I'm a big Zendaya fan like I know all her line in the movie. Iron Man in general but the first one is problably my favorite.
Really appreciate both of your honest thoughts on TLJ. I'm not a fan of it. Had very cool action scenes but also had key story elements I can't get on board with. Luke is the hero who still had hope that his father, a murderer, still had good in him... Doesn't make sense how after seeing a nightmare, his instinct is inflict violence on his sleeping nephew... Luke is one of my favorite characters and the sequels began to lose me here. Just glad Luke had an epic return in probably my favorite show as of now. Can't wait for Book of Boba Fett (my other favorite character) & Kenobi.

It's more interesting than unanimously agreeing how great something else is. I admit TLJ gets more hate than I think it deserves so it's refreshing to see other SW fans get into the parts they did geek out over. Looking forward to your next vid!

Holdo could of kept the plan secret just in case of spy's I think, but she could of told Poe and he could of calmed the others.
I feel Rose saving Finn was going to keep him alive to help fight more in the war as others will follow him.
Also massive Marvel fan here, been reading the comics since the 80s, watch the cartoons in the 90s then the movies from Spider-man and X-Men in the 00s. Also I cosplay Thor from Endgame.
That's a good point that had Poe had at least a sense of what was going on, he could've provided some comfort to the rest of the crew. And wow, you're quite the Marvel fan! That's awesome that you cosplay Thor, you must be excited for the next movie!

There are moments that I like in the Last Jedi but sorry to report it is my least favorite of all the movies. What I like in the sequels in the nostalgia feelings I get buuuut that’s it. I was so confused where the producers were going with the story and felt like we got no answers lol
That's ok! One person's favorite could be another's least favorite. Luckily, we have so much content to choose from and enjoy and there's even more coming!
Last Jedi was a slap to JJ Abram’s face and ruined the story arch that JJ had started with these amazing characters.
