The “unshaken” horse. Solid theory. Symbolizes the duality in Arthur. Not a unique breed to the gang but him and John are brothers so if it’s any horse it would be a HH. Large war horse and not the fanciest, very fitting for Arthur. Also a pretty rare coat which adds to the theory. Although I still like to believe it’s a horse that no one is ever seen riding like the dark bay Turk or the MFT. By the rational of being totally unique to Arthur I’d have to say the tiger striped mustang. It can’t be bought and no NPCs, bounty hunters or lawmen(that I’ve seen) ride them. Great video.

in fact, micah rides an MFT so the spot for one of those is taken, but i guess Arthur would have had Boadicea prior to Micah joining the gang, as it is stated he was only in for 6 months come the prologue.
I still think it's a Silver dapple pinto MFT. Because Micah's horse is completely black except the face which means that Micah is totally evil and he appears human when he's more of a devil. The silver dapple pinto on the other hand is like arthur,silver,(kinda black)and white. That means that arthur has made his mistakes and he's not a perfect man.

I think, the second horse drawn in Arthur’s Journal looks like an Andalusian. Andalusian’s are Great War horse’s and the new one over near Brandydrop is a really great horse.
You can also purchase a beautiful red one in Strawberry 🍓 in chapter two.

The Dark Bay Andalusian is extremely underrated. It's the best early game horse. You can get a white one for free but the dark Bay is gorgeous! It's a cheap horse you can get right away in chapter 2. Perfect horse for all the hunting I do in chapter 2 and 3.
I would love to see a video on the red dark bay Andalusian. I personally like the Andalusian breed and keep one throughout the game.

The spawn location near blackwater: above the B of blackwater between the upper montana river. It spawns on the field next to a few rocks.

I wonder if during the Benedict Albright mission,before you speak to him,could you pat and feed his horse until you get the level 1 bonding? On the Boadicea speculation viewpoint,I feel that if Arthur had came across a horse that was the same as his beloved Boadicea he would have mentioned it when he found it. It would be the same as when you find or see another "insert anything you used to have here",you'd say "wow,I used to have one just like this...

fatboydan02 after I wrote that comment I watched a whole video with the Hosea hunting mission, starting from camp to the end. And he doesn’t says anything about the horse reminding him about boadacia
Since Boadicea is a Celtic warrior queen, it makes sense that the horse breed would match the origin of the name. So in my opinion, Boadicea has to be an Irish horse. Irish horses tend to be draft horses too. And considering Arthur's position in the gang as 'the enforcer' it makes sense his horse would be on the bulky/ intimidating side as well. Also with Arthur being a large person, he would need a horse that could reliably carry him. So that rules out smaller horses like Morgans, Mustangs and Arabians. So if small horses aren't Boadicea, then we end up looking at a lot of Irish horses. Like Irish Cob, Irish Draft and Irish Hobby (Irish Hobby horses are now extinct)
Personally, I don't think Boadicea is a horse you can get in the games as of yet. I think Boadicea is either...
A) an Irish hunter (also called Irish sport horse). They are a cross between an Irish Draft and a warmblood or thoroughbred. (tho more commonly a thoroughbred) In terms of the game, it would make for a work/racehorse.
or
B) an Irish Draught. The Irish Draught was the result of breeding the Irish Hobby (now extinct) with the Angelo-Norman warhorse. So that would make for a work/ warhorse. I feel that since Boadicea is a warrior queen, it would make sense that she would be a warhorse of some kind. Also, for reasons mentioned earlier about horse size, I feel this is a better multiclass horse for Arthur.
Between these two, my gut says the Irish Draught would be Boadicea. There is a bittersweet symmetry in the Irish Draught being from a horse that is now extinct. Similar to how Hosea's Turkoman is an extinct breed. Anyway, just figured I'd share my thought process. I love reading about horse breeds so this topic is really up my alley.

Boadicea was a Liver Chestnut Hungarian Half Bred. The horse was found in the game files and had much better stats than all the other HH in the game, including John's horse Old Boy. Apparently Boadicea was meant to be in the game originally, but was eventually cut.

i like the Missouri fox trotter bc its white and silver- dutch's horse is white, hosea's is grey/silver, and he was essentially raised by them
I think boadecia can also be the splashed white American paint too. Dealing with the good and bad honor plus with the physical appearance of the horse and considering how rare it is.
With the horse you get free from the Polish guy, you don’t have to get bad honor if you make friends with her before the mission. Doing this will skip the poor man’s dialogue about his one and only cherished horse. But you get a horse either way. :) I also have to say, he’s a fake Polish guy, since he has an American country twanged voice. Poser.

Dr. Skulhamr Making friends with horses is easier, and no one questions why you’re taking their horse. It’s also how I got the Missouri Fox Trotter outside of Saint Denis.

I got my SDP MFT today at Moonstone Pond and I‘m 100% sure that this horse is Boadicea, the SDP MFT is ALWAYS a mare when you get it, and the single horse drawing in Arthur’s journal has the same markings as the SDP MFT! Plus the way Arthur reacts on the photographer mission is saying a lot. I kinda get why one would assume that it could be the HH, but I’m sure it’s the SDP MTF. Every horse at camp looks very unique, and so does this one. The HH‘s are pretty and big but overall, the stats speak for the MTF. BY THE WAY! Have you ever thought about keeping the American standardbred you borrow in Valentine to chase down Jimmy Brooks? I kept mine and I was surprised that I’ve never seen a buckskin American standardbred before!

I usually run into the American Standardbred in Cumberland Forest.
As far as MFT goes..can get one at beginning chapter 2 in st Denis via version 1.0 horse trick. I got 3 and all were males.
I think Boadecia Arthur is an American paint with a splashed white coat, because in the story there is no male sex and is very rare and really shows true America

I've always felt that Arthur's horse was meant to be whichever horse the player chose themselves. The devs knowing by the end your horse along with Old Boy is gunned down that fateful early morning.
Boadicea is more than likely to never be revealed because it represents Arthur's bond with the horse and the gang. By the end when you lose your horse Arthurs relationship with the rest of the gang besides John and a few others is pretty much severed. So in the end it's most likely based on the horse you chose as your riding companion that would mean something to you and Arthur that would be his "new" and final Boadicea.
I think a blood bay HH was found in game files with the horses name... Apparently didn't make the final story mode cut. Just like Arthur was supposed to have access to the southern part of the map (new Austin etc).
The hungarian halfbred never bucked me off. It’s insane once a cougar touched the horse and my horse stayed calm. And i could shoot it easily. (Edit: thanks for mentioning me in the video!)

Just got my flaxen chestnut HH today, love her to death. She’s adorable and doesn’t even flinch at a gunshot. She stares down on bears like there rodents and would take me anywhere. Truly loyal and I will do anything for her.
You can steal any horse in Van Horn after you return from Guarma although R* might want you to take this specific Hungarian halfbred since it is just there

Find the bounty hunter camp up, then circle between the old wrecked wagon just west of there and the camp itself. Keep up your binoculars so you can see which horses have spawned from a distance. I was spawning new ones every circle I made, so you should too.

While I still think Bodicea's an Silver Dapple Pinto MFT (thnx to your Bodicea 2.0 vid) I do agree that there's merit arguing the case of her being a Piebald Tobiano HH. The fact that her coat's black and white reminds me of the Ying-Yang model of good and evil choices being a product of our free will thus illustrating Arthur's history of having done good and evil (as highlighted in his "I'm afraid" conversation with Sister Calderon) and also the player's free will to choose Arthur's outcome as a result of actions committed throughout story mode.

Boadicea is a halfbred indeed. There's a fourth coat hidden in the game files: the liver chestnut. Definitely fits the description. If you want this horse, you need a trainer. I use Read Dead Trainer, because it allows for the horse to still be there after you load a save or start the game. No need to respawn it every time. Unfortunately you can't stable it, just like with any other trainer.
She's one hell of a horse however. Fully bonded, my hungarian tabiano comes in at 7 health, 6 stamina, 6 speed and 5 acceleration, whereas this "Boadicea" has 10 health, 9 stamina, 7 speed and 6 acceleration.
A warp brindle MFT would look pretty fitting for Arthur’s style even tho it’s not a real horse in game but I feel like arthur would have a unique horse like the other gang members

I took my Hungarian Halfbred to this mission. Took his too. Lol. It was funny at one point I forgot which horse was which. Luckily the girls are a bit shorter, and I had her named.

Arthur should have said something when he saw black and white Hungarian halfbred (bodecia). Bodecia is definitely not a Hungarian halfbred. I’m sure that bodecia is a fast horse maybe a thoroughbred or Missouri Fox trotter

Well after I watched ur video I did some research. I found out that arthur was riding a blanket appaloosa in the first game trailer, and you can see him riding this horse in early game pics. But what got my attention was an early game pic showing Arthur riding a tiger striped mustang. Just type arthur riding a horse and its the first pic u get. What's interesting about this is that the tiger striped mustang can only be found in New Austin a place Arthur cant go to. Plus, no other gang member has a mustang, and if u look closely each gang member has a different horse breed, but no mustang, and no other game npc is seen riding a tiger striped mustang. So boudicca cant be a Missouri fox trotter since micah has one, and neither an arabian since thats the horse of the dutch, nor a turkoman. The missing horse in this gang is the mustang. Hence it should be the horse breed of boudicca, and specifically a tiger striped one.

I actually got the HH from Killing all the law men in a town and this bounty hunter came in with a beautiful horse stud and I stole it :D. But for some reason I saw it was all ready fully leveled bounding so idk if Arthurs horse was a HH
i googled wat breed is arthurs horse boadicea it was a missouri fox trotter but he was not a missouri fox trotter he was a liver chestnut hungarian halfbred has good health and stats arthur likes a good girl
Nice video as always! I kept this horse until the end in my very first playthrough, after returning from Guarma... Love that theories! I think this horse also can be seen in the mission Sodom, back to Gomorrah. When Arthur runs in front of the train, some lawmen are riding a black and white Halfbred Hungarian if I remember right. Anyway, I love this kind of video, is nice to see someone who still cares about the lore and mysteries of RDR2, is very fun to discuss. Thanks for your work @superantonio. Whoa! I just had a wounded Missouri Foxtrotter encounter near Lemoyne. This time the horse was dead but it was a black woman who was stumbling along grumbling. I had to drop her off in Lagras. It was on the east/west road south of the Y in Lemoyne.

There's just somthing about the silver dapple pinto, of all the breeds and I can't lay my finger on it. Sure Arthur is a gunslinger but would he really know of such a rare and specific horse breed without encountering one before? The blackwater mft is male, which means he can't be bodecia. I don't even think rockstar intended people to look into this so much. My advice would be to ask the man himself Rodger Clark. I'm sure he would just name his favourite breed but it would be cool to find out
I found a Hungarian in the wild near Flatneck, he's my favorite horse so far.
The "black and white Hungarian half-bred" is seen after you get off the boat from guarma. As well as when arthur escapes from "lone mule ranch" during chapter 3... the black and white HH is one of four horses you can choose to take you home to camp
Shires are the only horse in game that existed in the time and place of boudica.
In my opinion boadicea throughbred (sorry for my english) reverse dapple black....
I think Arthur’s original horse may be the tiger striped mustang in NA. After the blackwater heist, he was forced to abandon his original horse and the mustang migrated to NA far away from civilization. It’s also the only breed of Mustang that isn’t ridden by any NPC. Del Lobos ride either a Grullo Dun or the dark bay coat
i think the only horse that can equal boadicea is buell since buell is a very loved and unique horse in the game
I am making a case for the Black American Standardbred, Hosea said that the Raven Black Shire reminded him of Boadicea, that Shire has a solid black coat, the stripe on its face is literally on almost every horse and coat, so I am saying it’s solid black and it has a very large size, the Black American Standardbred is completely solid black, it’s size is large and bigger than other breeds, it has decent stats, and it’s a pretty good horse and the breed is just good, I don’t see Arthur riding a horse that’s expensive like the Arabian, Turkoman, Missouri Fox Trotter, or even the Mustang ( I know their stats aren’t perfect and they aren’t expensive but I consider it because if you have the Tiger Striped Bay Mustang, people will compliment you and it’s the same if you have those 3 other breeds ), i don’t see him riding a horse that has incredible stats or anything like that, I just don’t see him riding a horse that’ll draw attention to him, I see him just riding HIS horse, like Boadicea. Also, you don’t see NPC’s riding it all the time, you only see law riding it on occasions and that guy you can race against, that’s it, and I believe John ends up riding a Black American Standardbred in RDR1 and he’s the main protagonist in that game and Arthur is the main protagonist in RDR2.

i still think she was a Silver Dapple Pinto MFT, the mesh of white, gray and black perfectly describe the inner conflict happening inside Arthur between the decision of good and evil which he writes about in his journal, so when Boadicia eventually dies a piece of Arthur also dies with her and Arthur is reborn into something different finally making a choice and picking a side , which is why you can't normally get an MFT during the game without using glitches because Arthur is somewhat no longer conflicted
I think boadecia was the flaxen chestnut HH in game files. BUT I play with the shire from Hosea because 1) it's unique and not available any other way and 2) because arthur said he used to be the prized pony and is now the workhorse. Fits to go from a flashier, faster HH to a shire IMO
I still think that the Silver dapple pinto Missouri fox troter because Micah has one which is dark and Micah is like the evil twin of Arthur(that is why he has a white hat while Arthur has a black hat besides Micah is blonde and Arthur has brown hair) and he is trying to replace Arthur's place in the gang as Dutch's right hand

I’m leaning towards a Black Hungarian Halfbred. Micah calls Arthur his brother so they probably had similarities on coats. Probably the same coat as baylock but with the blaze of the shire.
Also near o creagh’s run you can find a man with one leg and if you bring him his horse and complete a few small missions you will get his golden horse, I believe it’s a Turkomen and it is as good a Arabian but maybe better not sure
The horse’s name is Buell and it’s a dutch warmblood not a turkoman
I feel like Boadicea is a thoroughbread like Rachel or the bloodbay one because Boadicea had red hair supposedly edit or the ultimate edition one because that would make sense that Arthur's ori gnal horse was sp ecial

I can't weigh in on the Boadicea issue, but this made me try to get a HH from that very camp. During my attempts i noticed that if you find heavy horses, the camp will not spawn saddle horses. I had to reload after coming up and down the road enough times to make the camp go aways. After a reload or two, the camp appeared again, this time with kentucky saddler or similar. After a good few attempts i got the Hungarian. During this time there were Mustangs, Nokotas, American Paints, as rarer spawns. No appaloosa, but maybe that was just random. (I stole a few spotted appaloosa from some poor guy...) Currently my main save stable has the Black Arabian, the Perlino Andalusian, a Few Spotted Appaloosa, all at lvl 4 bonding), and now the Hungarian. On a secondary save i went back to the beginning of chapter two and finally got the Fox Trotter. Now i'm divided. Should i go back in time and enjoy the free Fox Trotter, or should i move on with the story and live with what the game brings me? Decisions, decisions.... Ah, and i do want that early Turkoman,... one of the older ones will have to go... even more decisions.

I learned somewhere that the Hungarian Halfbreds were never used in the old west, so i doubt it's that one
I have a theory. Since arthur did some ranch work in his time maybe he raised Boadicea when she was young and the two HH were the same just one older and the other younger.

This game had everything to be historically accurate but no they gave full buttoned shirts open trigger guard holsters and full button shirts... Dammit. Especially the leather hat.. Damn it. I wish I could mod the game to never see this had ever again. Not even for a second

I raided the bounty hunter camp this morning for my very own Boadicea. Now my stable consists of 1-the wrecked brindle Arabian 2-the Raven Black Shire from Hosea 3-the dark bay Turkoman stolen from Braithwaites 4-the Hungarian Half Bred Piebald Tobiano from the bounty hunter's camp

The truth is none of those horses are boadicea my theory is you know how every single gang member has a very unique horse with a unique color that no one else can get I think Arthurs horse was one of those

I replayed a mission in Chapter 3 while visiting Horseshoe Overlook and when I loaded back in, Old Boy, Silver Dollar, Nell, and Old Belle were there! I've been trying to see if there's a mission that you can load that spawns them all, but I've had no luck so far.

Nah Boadicia is a Missouri Fox Trotter with Baylocks coat, you have said before micah and arthur have a common intriguing in horses, and the pics you showed of the warrior queen and her horses did look like baylock
I don't think it is. And if it is than its a special one off unique coat. All the gang horses are special ones that no npc's use meanwhile both the grey and black&white ones are commonly used by npc's

I’m wondering if Boadicea was the black dapple thoroughbred a strong dark horse, (if u think about it u can never sell the ultimate edition horse meaning that is unique and can only be acquired by Arthur). I also noticed every gang member has a unique horse and individual breed. Dutch has an arabian, Hosea has a turkoman, John Hungarian halfbred etc, leaving Arthur to have an Andulusian, Thoroughbred or Dutch warmblood. I don’t think Arthur would of had a black MFT as you said in a other video, because Arthur is supposed to be the opposite of Micah it wouldn’t make sense if they both had the same horse.

I got the black and white Hungarian halfbreed in chapter 3 during the mission when Arthur, uncle, Charles and Bill hide in the barn. It had to have been a Pinkerton agents horse. It was just standing there. I hitched it to a tree and it was there after the mission

No clue what breed Bodicea was other than she was a great horse loved by Arthur. All horses are good horses and will become great horses with time and experience. Mobility is the biggest difference among the breeds and depending upon your style of play what you will prefer.

I really want to find a piebald tobiano Hungarian Halfbred again before chapter 5, I will wait if I have to, but when I see a camp with shires near it, I save my game, load it in hopes of one showing up but the camp disappears entirely and its the final horse I want, I have the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter, the Warped Brindle Arabian, and the Dark Bay Turkoman, my first time ever riding the Turkoman breed and i love it and the Dark Bay coat. Anyway, the Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbred, I don't want to risk me and my horses life ( my horses are all very valuable to me and I love them ) committing crimes for bounty hunters or law to come after me in hopes of one of them riding it and doing something even more dangerous like stealing it, bounty hunters are easy kills but stealing from a group of law sounds risky, especially since a lawman or bounty hunter riding it is a 50/50 chance.
new theory on boudicia I believe it was a strawberry roan ardennes, reason strong brave beautiful and all red,,horse is exclusively in blackwater. and the only we see is dead with the drunk wagon driver. and why would it not be an ardennes,iit fits arthur's personality,he's strong ,brave and fearless.

Great video man. I've been watching your vids for quite some time now. I'm on my 2nd playthrough and I thought of asking you, which horse do you think is braver, HH, Ardennes or the Andalusian?
that's a tough one i would say ardennes but only by a fraction of a point, like gold and silver medals at the olympics...

I also know a way on getting the piebald I saw this on a CZcams video but if you lasso a rider then shoot his leg so he can't run after you and he'll need to spawn a new one got it on my fourth try but I got most success near o creaghs run, again this isn't my method all credit goes to the person who made the video

What if Arthur was the angel on Dutch’s shoulder keeping him good, but then Micah came along ( he is the devil )
Arthur is John and so is Micah, they are representations of what John could’ve been. He could have been bad and ended up as micah or be good and end up as Arthur. Or choose another path and become the one we know. As Arthur got weaker, Dutch good more evil, Arthur got tuberculosis which is Micah taking over Dutch. This led Dutch to turn bad, but John caught onto this early on so he never fell under the same fate as Arthur. Killing Micah is what saved Dutch, but it was to late. Dutch lost his love when Annabelle died. Dutch lost his soul when Arthur died. After Micah died Dutch was left with nothing. No sympathy, no sorrow, no love no feelings.
Maybe rdr2 is just a metaphor and is actually about a man that forgot himself. All the members are based off real people in this fantasy. Maybe that’s why rains fall called life a trick.
Maybe the reason Dutch never shot John at that cliff is because John was his son. And knew the on,h way to free himself was too end himself.

I have this horse (from Valentine stable) but am still not too sure, which one is better: Andalusian or Hungarian Halfbred. Tested them both around snakes and alligators and sometimes they were brave sometimes they bucked me off. Basically I didn’t see a significant difference and since my Andalusian fed me to a Puma I am on the search again for a braver horse....
All horses are skidish around kitty's,wolves and reptiles until you sort through a bunch together then it will become a walk in

I think bodicea was a black and white Hungarian half breaded to the Nature of the game. Its very rare in a rockstar game that they will mention something and never let the player see it. 9 times out of 10 they will mention said thing and it will be in front of the player a d you'll never know

@@superantonio yeah that's what I usually do when it comes to games but rock star is know for it also if there is anyone that is is looking for a sdpmf the glitch from braccous station to moon stone pound is still working all thow I didnt do it like your one video said to I was hunting elk near moon stone pound and I came to the junction between them and to towards the station and I was like I know that horse butt. So I I got her. Saved and reloaded to a save before I got her and I found her 3 more time alive and 3 time dead and 10 with nothing
I still think the silver dapple pinto MFT is a better candidate but I can't disagree with the HH theory too much.

This is the horse class I think fits Arthur the story symmetry and coat representation of Arthur fit perfectly as presented.
From a story perspective I don't think there is a better match though I could make an argument for the chocolate roan coat if we are talking about colour.
- as the msucle Arthur is the fighter and was noted as the hot head in his youth hence the read head.
The better argument being that Arthur is an deeply emotional. He leads with his heart but not at the cost of intelligence. There is a balance in him a collected and cool. The ability to handle things calmly without a gun fight exemplified through Jimmy Brooks quite nicley. An intelectual side as well that drives his actions while emotions lead.

Arthur is true to himself to the point he stands against Dutch true to his word and friends. While he does not always act for the good of others he does do what he feels is right even when it is most difficult
Colour symbolism - red is bold and intense. Many link it with love and hate. Action and passion.
White is balance in some cases purity. Goodness.
Arthur calls himself a bad man many times but he is nowhere near as lost or dark as Micha (also known as spawn of satan). He ultimately is more pure in spirit that Bill or Javier as well.
Blackness did not drive him - no sadism or evil intent but emotional pain rage frustration and love desire for peace/happiness loyalty.
The "white" body of the horse can also appear more silver/grey at times depending the light cast on it - the influences on Arthur.
I think bodacia is dark bay roan mustang because you can only have it from a glitch near the saint denis its bigger than normal mustang great stats and when rock stars been doing rdr2 they must know how bodacia looks so on my guest this is it because like i said you can have it from the glitch / the bug theres no any more location and much peopel dont now about and that horse is beutifull . ( sorry for my english)

I think that a war horse goes with Arthur, what is big and faithful, what has a rare fur, especially black and white. So for me 4 breeds come into question dutch warmblood turkmene Ungarian halfbred and MFT.oh I'm currently in Chapter 3 the "Gray" mission. I found a Kladruber there. she is insanely big and strong. and in the mission with uncle you can steal a hungarian halfbred from the bounty hunters btw. enough of Thorin 😉 ... keep going and see you next time.
