A nice trick to stop that paper towel from unrolling, take a magnetic hook put it on the side of the shelf between the hooks for the paper towel rack. Then get a 18" long piece of light duty chain, like the kind use for a swing set, and put it on the hook and let it lay over the roll of paper towel. Not only will the weight of the chain prevent the PT from un-rolling in the breeze but the added weight also helps when you do the "snap the towel" off move.

Some people don't have room for 2 20 lb tanks going, say camping. 1 lb a little pricey, but helps with the 1/3 filled 20 lb tank, will it be enough.

Reason being I was going to do some fried rice the other night when it was about 35° outside and after about 15 minutes of the camp chef being on medium/low the griddle top was about 57° so I aborted mission and cooked it inside. I didn't feel like experimenting and wasting propane if it was going to take much longer to heat up. Love the videos. Thank you and keep em coming!

    • @JohnnyBrunet
      @JohnnyBrunet  Před rokem +1

Hey Brandon sorry for the delay. So I have cooked in 35 degree weather I usually don't have any problems I just try to heat it up on low to avoid warping, but I also heat up my griddle on low just to be safe. However when I cooked in the cold I have never done fried rice. Fried rice will really drop the temp of your griddle especially whe it is cold out. My reccomendatin next time would be to slowly heat your griddle up to a little above normal so it can handle the temp drop once the food goes on. I usually cook fried rice around 400 maybe you should try starting at 425 and then see what happens once you put all the rice and ingrediants on. Hopefully that helps thanks so much for watching.

    Can ya help me?
I cook for my church and we desperately need to upgrade/replace existing bbq equipment. (LPG only, no charcoal/wood, or IPA) I'm pushing for a covered outdoor kitchen area filled with professional (as best we can do, we're poor Baptist's) type equipment.
First things first, we needs a huge high equally flattop and equally efficient gas grill, hooded and dual power burners. We served 149 at the recent sports banquet, Hawaiian BBQ theme...only by the Grace of GOD did we pull it off. Great story!
Any ideas/suggestions to buy or maybe more importantly, equipment to avoid? Not looking to back you into corner, your top 3 maybe.
    I like...
    Griddles:
    1. Patriot Platinum - 60"
    2. Traeger Flatrock - 48"
    3. Blackstone - 48"
    Gas Grills:

    2. American Renaissance
    3. ?
    Power Burners:
    1. American Renaissance - 60k BTU
    2. ?
    3. ?
Any ideas/suggestions besides resigning immediately, will be accepted with open arms?
Thank you in advance for your time johnny, i really do appreciate it.

      Hey Guy!
Thanks for watching my video man. That's cool that you help out so much at your church and that you guys are doing these events.
I guess my main question is, what is the amount of people you'll have for a normal event? Is that 125 number a regular thing or was that a one off and normally it's just like 50 people?
I've heard of patriot and seen a lot of people with food trucks use them. I've never heard anything really negative about them but I've also never personally used it. I'm pretty sure they are close to commercial grade equipment. The one thing I would double check on is if they have propane options. You definitely don't want to buy a natural gas grill and hook up propane bc it will basically turn into a flame thrower.
As for the Blackstone and the trasher both are very nice. I'd lean towards Blackstone because you can get it for a better price. I really like my Camp Chef griddle as well and I know they make a 6 but er which is nice. I'd check that out too if you're cooking for a bunch of people.
I don't know where you guys are located at but if you're near a restaurant equipment store they sometimes will have used items at very good prices. That's always worth looking into.
As for power burners I'm not familiar at all with those so unfortunately I don't have many suggestions.
I hope that was helpful, if you ever have more questions feel free to email me at griddlewithjohnny@gmail.com
