  • We're right at the end of the good ground winds and sailing is excellent. Another few weeks and the grounds will die until returning next November. Have to get it while you can...

Love your videos. I just put a downpayment for a new WETA. Do you still use the speedpuck on the boat? Just looking at what electronic I could use to have fun and maybe I will add a camera. Any advice when I get it out of the box? Up in Canada so my sailing season will be shorter than yours. Just curious.

I still take it to record my best 10 second average. Cameras are good for watching your technique and seeing where you make mistakes and can get better. And it's nice just to watch your sailing trip at the end of the day over a few beers.

Properly sailed, the Weta can go about15 knots upwind and under screecher about 18 to 20 downwind. I recently hit 21.4 knots downwind for a best 10 second average. I don't think I can do any better than that, but I think that's pretty good for a mere 14 foot boat.
