  • 8 minutes of cool foiling in Miami, slalom across the mooring field. See if you can spot some sunken boats.

Love this long version even more than the short one! Looks like you had very steady winds which are a rare thing here in Seattle on Lake Washington. It's 22 miles long and winds shift ALL the time with swirling gusts that are double the baseline wind speed. Makes for short exciting flights, but few long rides. Last week, however, the stars all aligned and I had a foiling day very similar to what you show in this video...including the dunks.
Tomorrow 6/26 the forecast resembles last week so I'm keeping my fingers/toes/eyes crossed. LOL. And THIS time I hope my GoPro works properly. Not one frame from last week. :(
BTW, how do you attach your camera to the sprit? I like the view you get!

What's the correct course of action at about @2:55 or @3:30 when you're flying but the boat starts heeling too far to windward? should you sheet out to get more power and/or bear away? I'm currently learning to sail the UFO in Berkeley, CA

it looks like at ~6:15 you heeled to windward but then managed to catch it. I'm wonder if the windward capsize is sometimes unavoidable in a lull? Great sailing by the way thanks for uploading!

So you are heeling too much to windward. Typically there are 3 reasons
      - you've pinched too much! bear off, _ease a bit to ensure flow on the LW side of the sail_, crunch abs to reduce leverage
      - you've overtrimmed and stalled flow on the LW side of the sail - _ease a bit_ to try to re-establish flow, trim to lift butt out of water, crunch abs to reduce leverage
      - you're in a lull, ease to re-establish flow on the LW side of the sail, trim to lift your butt out of the water 🙂 , crunch abs to reduce leverage
So what you do depends a bit on a theory you have in your mind of why it's happening. Lull and overtrimmed are in a way the same. And you can see that I sometimes ease and trim again. Sometimes it works. The best way to do the 'ease for flow, trim for lift out of water' is to ease fast, and trim slow. I am rusty and not necessarily a good example of doing that here -- instead of learning bad habits from me, there are some old videos of Nathan Outteridge teaching maneuvers on a moth, and if you look at how he does the ease followed by a trim, it's art.

@@louisclark9685 6.15 to 6.30 shows a moment with good breeze, I could feel the breeze so I knew I could trim for power to lift me up. But I was also worried about stalling the sail so you can see I trim and follow it by an ease...
