About the skin, I feel like it's not about the cost it's everything else. You cannot buy the skin itself, you pay for a bunch of bullshit that comes with it, they are taking advantage of faker's legacy and fame, using fomo as well and all this for a digital item which there could technically be millions if they wanted, selling it as a luxury item when it's just a switch on your account that says: owned or not owned just feels bad.
Doesn't mean that they shouldn't or can't do this, there's clearly people that buy it and that's why they do it in the first place, riot is not THAT stupid, at least not with sucking the wallets of its players.
What concerns me is that RIOT may feel that they can't keep growing the company through stuff like onboarding new players. They may see increasing prices as the only way to increase profit. Eventually, though, the goodwill that they've built runs out, and the games starts to shrink. This could be an early warning of a slow death for League
The problem with the skin bundle pricing has little to do with how they look or how much they cost, but more so to do with the fact that they turned what would otherwise be a cool event to celebrate Faker into literally nothing more than a cashgrab, and a big one at that
It stains the integrity of the event by making these commemoratory items for people to pick up but then suddenly most people won't be able to or want to buy them because the bundles are truthfully so far beneath the $500 value. It's just artifically priced because it's nearly impossible for Riot to make anything fairly priced with such a pricetag.
Remember, $10 is the rough price for the average skin. $15 is the same for Legendaries. You gonna pay 35-50x the money for what, 3 skins, some chromas, a pass, extremely cheap to make things such as borders and icons?

imo the fundamental difference between this skin and like concert tickets is that the skin exists largely as a status symbol. The skin looks cool, but most people wouldn't buy it at 500$. The reason people will pay 500$ for it is that it's HIS skin. It's like many high-end fashion brands*cough* supreme brick*cough* where you're buying the label more than the item. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth
At the very least clothing brands still retain there value so you can sell it at a later date and get most of your money back unlike this skin your just giving 500 dollars to riot 💀 yeah no thanks
I’ve been playing league since 2011 and I’m sad it took until around 2016 before I realized that if I didn’t like something I could just not buy it. At first I was outraged by the skin cost because I do really like Faker but I can never justify that price especially when they could shut down the game and I’m out 500 bucks with nothing to show for it..

I feel like being apologetic to the skin is stupid, while you can get stuff for $500 dollars in real life, its that this is Riot putting the value of it this high and therefore trying to set a new standard. the average guitar costs around 500 Dollars, it's an object you can touch, it's something you can meditate with and that can change you for the better, it can enhance your life tremendously, music does something to to the brain and to learn an instrument as well

@@JQuill116 If a concert ticket costs $500, it's probably a pretty big artist and that concert might end up being a big once-in-a-lifetime experience for you. Even then, people who spend way too much money on tickets (normally the crazily marked up ones from scalpers that go like, $1000+) definitely get a lot of shit for wasting that much money. On top of that, you can't say that the average concert/guitar of that scale is worth less than 5% the price of that $500 one like you can with league skins.
