    A nice little addition. Love the way this model there opens up de scène/view into the rest of the layout.

    I love how this video feels like the first videos you made. The explanations the colors represented and just seeing the whole process is what I love. Thanks for making videos!

    Great little structure! It's a good location. Boat ramp and repair shop close by.

    Jason your eye for details are first rate. Some times I think guys just want to get it done, weather a building and put it on the layout. You bring it alive and take us with you on the build. Thanks for the motivation!

    That turned out great. A simple little kit that came to life with each added detail, and I agree, it fits perfect in that locationm!

    Another beautiful build, Jason. All your usual colors and techniques working their magic flawlessly. Be careful of using a piece of trim you find on your workbench that just happens to fit. You may start the next project and think "Now where's that trim piece I had for this?" 😄

    This is probably not a new observation but your structures remind me of Sweethaven from the Popeye movie. Love your work!

    Nice job, can you share more on how you painted and weathered the gas pump? That came out great

    Nice little kit. Have you tried vinegar and steel wool for your decking? Gives a great aged wood effect, though your technique works every bit as well. Cheers

    If you have a waterfront scene with power driven boats (gas, diesel or steam) you need a fuel dock.

    Great build Jason. Love your missing basic things to achieve effects. If you are taking requests I'd love a bare bones paint and effects kit. Limited to 12 paints/washes/stains that covers all the basics. Back to mixing colors... I love that you made a wood stove stain watering down paint.

    Hi Jason, where did you get the metal blocks for weighting down walls and for blocking corners?

    • @1270mark
      @1270mark Před 6 měsíci

      Those are called 1-2-3 blocks -- they are 1 inch, by 2 inch, by 3 inch, and very square and heavy. I get them at my local machine supply shop. I have 10 of them for modeling.

    Why can’t there be two wharfs in the same spot?
    It would make a pair a’ docks.

    I don’t think that walkway is ADA compliant

  • @1270mark

    Why don't you use a real light bulb (LED, etc.) for the goose-neck lamp?

    • @mpetersen6
      @mpetersen6 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Jason doesn't do any lighting effects on his structures. I think because once you start doing that you are looking at doing interiors etc. IMO lighting effects can be overdone. As can other scenic or structure treatments. One effect can be litter. In real life litter is at best unsightly. But I can say that you actually in my experience see less litter today than you did 50 years ago. Litter with scale structures can help set the time period but should be an accent. Not a dominating effect. The same Dan be said for scrap yards. Scrap or junk yards are businesses. They are in business to make money. The closer to the modern era the less amount of junk or scrap they are just going to have lying around. The days of the junk yards with hulks of cars sitting around are coming to a close. Once the yards cannot make any money off of selling used parts its time to crush the body or shred it and sell it on to a processor.
