  • In this video we build kit number 7 called "Full Moon Tavern" and find a home for it on the layout.
The kit is available on my website at jasonjensentrains.com
You can order the kit and build it along with me.

Great small kit. I know you like the single edge razor blades for cutting and trimming. I prefer the #11 blade in a large handle to keep my fat hand out of the way of my sight lines. I love the sign on the the front, “Best head in town.” 😉

A really nice little beer joint, Jason. I love that you had cut door knobs into the doors, they go missing way too often.

Your construction videos are great! Perhaps sometime you can document how you came up with the design for your next kit: where did the idea come from? how wide, how long, and how high did you determine the kit would be? what made you decide on the size/type of roof, windows and doors? You have many of the same type of buildings on your layout: cafes, bars, hotels, etc., what will be the next type of building? Some scratch builders find this aspect of modeling helps them in their own planning.

Hi ya Jason. I’m late to the party. So…..nice addition to your kit store. I imagined the interior. And really with the room available, it’s basically one long bar. With some other small tables and chairs in the remaining area. And of course some restrooms. A real neighborhood bar. Okay. See ya.

Charlie from Chadwick Model Railway in the UK said a while back that he would be in need of a small structure to cover a switch motor on top of his table and I let him know that you were designing and selling kits that might work for that.

Great tutorial video Jason. Enjoy how explanation of correct sides & bracing go correctly together.. all without instructions with “your build” prior to kit instructions, awesome..I’m just behind a little if this is kit #7 but need to catch up now.. Great placement on layout, dive bar fits well into neighborhood..

I really love the sign and wall art on this one a lot. very interesting and I can see lots of possibilities to kitbash this one so I just ordered mine. Also, anyone who like these kits would really like the Patreon discount, just a friendly suggestion. Cheers Rob

Great structure, however, I would not have placed the stack above the rear door.

Great work. I'm just coming back from Alaska, there I saw many buildings that have the same level of weathering of your buildings. Also, at Ketchikan, there was a downtown section build over pilots over the waterfront, it was like looking at a section of your layout.

What timing!!! This morning I was looking at Doug‘s tavern and bar kits! And then your kit shows up! What are the odds? My order has been placed. Now, if I can just get you to change the laser cut name to Neon Moon, I’ll be all set! (Neon Moon is the name of a song my favorite band performs…..). Don’t just sit there, ship it! 😁😁😁

I use my LASER so much I've already used up ome junction. Second one is more powerful (Of Course). I noticed something while Jason was showing the back of the sign. The resin or smoke from the material being cut always leaves a tell-tale stain around the cut edges of a LASER part. The "back" or surface away from the LASER source will always be obvious because of the additional staining. A really useful thing with lots of symmetrical parts that still have a "money side". That can be hidden when cutting LASER parts as well. Sheets of the same masking material used when putting on vinyl to a car keeps the crud away. Masking that way is the secret to cutting or etching clear material.

    Hi Jason
Love your channel. Amazing buildings. I have recently gotten into trains and am building the grand valley railroad kit .
I am making it as a old west cattle town.
Being in Australia, am having trouble getting my habds on western buildings. Could you tell me if a 28mm table top bulding would look out if place on an ho layout?
I know it is technicall parger than ho, but i really love the structure snd it would be my main cattle ranch house.
Thanks for any insight and great job on your channel.
    David

Another great structure. My only criticism is you are not making any kits in O scale. Yet. 😅

  • @bonniehollingsworth1996

Hey Jason, was your mom an English teacher? Just guessing because you say, “The model is finished” instead of the common misuse of “the model is done.” I love great English, but I don’t hear it very often. Kudos! (Yes, when I was a teacher I loved teaching English!) I also love great modeling!

Jason, awesome model! It certainly has the signature Jason Jensen aesthetic! Question, how much trouble was it to license the signs? I wouldn't have the fist clue where to start with something like that, it is really cool where you are going with all this!

Great question.... Jason Jensen Trains may, very well, receive a cease and desist demand letter from Pabst Brewing Company, if he is selling their trademark without licensing!

32:22 I don't think people started using black plastic trash bags until the late 60's, so I'm not sure that fits in with the time scale of your layout.

    • @FosScaleModels
      @FosScaleModels Před rokem +2

Plastic bags have been around since 1950 - but you could always paint the bags a tan color as if they were burlap - Cheers!

Although most of your structures look like they're from the '30s, I suppose that your Era could be the '50s . What say you? The trash bag screams 1953 or later
