    I appreciate that I'm learning a lot. Seeing you physically remove the spark plugs goes a long way. No short cuts next time. Your teaching! Good job!

    Time to change spark plugs on my '2017. I hope this vid will be of help. Also I do remember that as soon as you feel resistance while screwing in a new plug you will need to do only 1/4 turn to tighten it up. There is crush washer so you must not get it completely flat. This was the repair manual recommendation for my old FZ1 '01.

      Def don't want loctite on any spark plugs ever... If anything you'll want to use anti-seize so they don't mess threads up in the cylinder head next time they're removed

  • @SergeZz
    @SergeZz Před rokem

    you don't need to tighten your spark plug so much. Screw it in with your fingers until it starts resisting. Then do just a 1/4 to 1/3 turn. That's it.

  • @hawaiielite
    @hawaiielite Před 7 lety +3

    Haha, why so much work for plug replacement? Hows about two radiator mounting screws and one fan plug, and the radiator drop forward exposing the plugs a lot more than from the top. You're welcome.

    • @speedclutchlean3460
      @speedclutchlean3460  Před 7 lety +1

    It would be nice for viewers if you would include part numbers for spark plugs, what the gap should be set at, what the recommended mileage is that you should change them at, etc. Also, I would recommend getting rid of the "donkey dick" by installing block-off plates. Also, you might as well do a throttle body sync while you're in there. Just a suggestion.

      I got one exactly the same bike (Orange ABS version) and would never do that to my seat, hell i would never do that with the seat of an old bike.
      Watched your vid because im thinking on changing the plugs @ 8k or 10k but going to use Denso Iridium instead of NGK. So some insight was valuable.
