    I switched from a cbr1000rr to a fz 09. I love the power delivery and torque of the fz09 . Fun factor is a lot more than a superbikes. Superbikes only got the top speed beat on this which I don't care for I hardly ever go faster than 100mph. I just swapped out the exhaust pipe and handlebars with pro tapers and bar end mirrors. Got a ECU flash and now it's the best bike I have ever owned.

      Awesome! 👏
      Did the exact same thing but with an R1 to this. Only thing is the seller thought A was B mode, so it has more Yeet but I took it “easy” lol
      It’s intimidating and I don’t have that windscreen/cockpit false sense of security like I do with a sport bike.
      It’s nice having the best of both worlds

      Rockets All HP, Low TQ (except for litres) but ya need speed like ya sd

    I have a 16 that I bought new, Armor Gray with the fancy yellowish wheels. I've owned many sport bikes throughout my life. I came off an R1 and went to the FZ09. I got really tired of the discomfort of sport bikes. I'll tell you even after owning this bike a couple years it still puts a smile on my face. Seat comfort sucks for really long rides until you switch it out. Also, the wind resistance does suck at higher speeds, but everything else is better in my opinion as far as usability and comfort. This bike has a little bit of everything for a reasonable price. It's a really good bang for your buck by far!

Having paper certification isn't an opt out of putting in the hours of honning your skills. That said some riders who have ridden for years are just as mediocre as their first day riding on full licence. Getting your licence is only the first step.

    Definitely not a bike suitable as your first bike...even if you have ABS, TCS and the B mode. I've had 12k km done on a Honda Hornet as a beginner, now I feel like this MT-09 is ALL you could ever want from a bike.
    The only problem with this bike is that it has so much torque and lower-mid range power, the front is so light(actually the whole bike feels light as a bicycle) that you are compelled to get to the dark side of just wheelie-ing the shit out of it. :)) As someone mentioned in one of the comments, this bike will turn any average and self-controlling biker into a hooligan. Great, informed review man, thanks! Been lusting after it, and probably gonna get it. Have all the concerns you and others have mentioned, I just don't want it to be so spirited that it is annoying, I do like to tour as well so wind protection is giving me some pause. Instability at 100 also makes me a bit less interested I suppose. Hm. Z900 is also on my short list.

    My buddy just had his ZO8 stolen a few weeks ago. He let me borrow it a few times. It is a very stable bike. I'm not a fan of the super tight clutch, but I'm sure you get used to that after a while. With all the power you can get up to speed in no time. Very fun. No fairing or windshield will slow you down on the highway. I always felt like the wind was going to peel me right off at higher speeds.

    Hi guys did you know that there;s an Australian company called Extreme Creations that do a turbo kit for these and it makes an extra 40whp,they started doing it on the MT/FZ07 which from the full power model 75HP made 115whp then turned the boost up and made 135whp, Watch the vid because its a simple installation but needs a dyno and powercommander. The MT/FZ 09 was making close to 180WHP and that as you know is CARZY POWER for these bikes with standard internals and i was surprised how cheap the kit is at around 2500 US for the mt07.

      @noirceur_ Před 4 lety

      I get why bikes have fly by wires nowadays... but I've had nothing but either twitchy ones or ones with weird dead spots in their throttle range. They have got the smoothing right in most cars (my BMWs throttle literally feels and is weighted just like a cable operated one, it's perfect. Idk why they can't make them perfect on these newer bikes 😪

    Spot on describing this bike!! I had a 2016 blue FZ09 and put a few thousand miles on it,, super light super twitch but like you said at highway speeds no fairings at 100 plus it was too hard to deal with,, besides I like doing sustainable speeds of 120mph on the open road, so sold it with 6k and grabbed a used R6 and love it !!

    I am leaning towards buying one of these. I owned a Yamaha R3 for two years before deciding to sell it. I haven't owned a bike since 2017, but have been on numerous super-sports since then. I was thinking about purchasing a ZX6R but iv'e recently moved to St. Louis and i'm not sure if I want something that has peaky power. The FZ07 also seemed kind of slow to me, which is concerning since there are some areas where I do have the opportunity to go wot here and there... I feel like i'm letting my purist sport bike friends down a bit by even thinking this way lol.
