- Here's another method of using CWM or TWRP recovery to root your Galaxy Note 4 Android smartphone.
This root method works on all KitKat and Lollipop including Android 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2.

To anyone having issues with it rebooting into android default recovery 3e after you do the odin steps. The fix is to reflash with the odin steps but make sure to disable the "Auto reboot" option before hitting start.
Now press Start. When Odin says you're done, pull out the battery and go directly into twrp by pressing HOME+POWER+VOL UP.

unable to flash twrp recovery. tried to install cf autoroot but the " recovery is not seandroid enforcing set warrenty bit : recovery" message appears and bootloop. installed twrp recovery and phone restarts and works correctly. But i'm still having standard recovery and knox ox1. When i install the twrp recovery the flash goes correctly but when i start recovery mode (Up+Home+PowerOn) i still have standard recovery. Any Ideas? SM-N910F no brand

I understand how it's done with a custom ROM, but if I wanted Samsung's official TouchWiz update, how would I do that? Does having a custom recovery interfere with the signatures of the updates? I am using a T-Mobile Note 4 on AT&T's network.

If I could see a great step by step review about twrp coz with it 1st time I messed up my note3 and I had to get it back from bootload but I could with new root. Thank you for the tutorial. I've been rooting phones since the HTC magic (mytouch in America). I Did this on my sprint Note 4 and everything worked fine. I must warn all who read this, DO NOT use Xposed installer with your stock touch wiz rom. I ran into serious issues after and am not 100% sure that it completely caused my problem (endless boot loops) or not but I believe it corrupted my System partition and I am no longer able to mount the system partition (E) in TWRP. Even flashing back to the stock recovery with Odin didn't work. Still an endless boot loop.

When I download the file it only downloads the twrp file and not odin or supersu. I have the SM-910R4. Is there something I am doing wrong?

hey max, ive been trying this method and it passed the first time in oden then turned around and wouldnt load SU, so i tried redoing the process and factory reseting now im getting fail in odin and its still not loading SU
I followed this guide when I tried to root my note 4 N916S, it's a korean version. I'm not sure if this method works for the model that I have. I followed the guide as closely as possible but at the part where you boot to recovery and I select the supersu file, it gave me the error "E: failed to verify whole-file signature" then it would just restart. I also made sure that reactivation lock is not enabled. I'm not sure what to do next. My phone isn't locked to any carrier.
Looking for some help. Trying to root my Canadian note 4 using the above method. I recently performed the OTA updated to 5.0.1. I get a SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery when I try to run ODIN. Any ideas as to why this is? Thank you!
Max, dumb question.. following the instructions to the letter. When downloading the .trp file for the T-mobile note 4 from your website, the file extension shows ( .img ) instead of ( .tar ). I've tried to add the ( .tar ) extension by renaming it, but the install doesn't work. Any advice, thanks

hi I need to twrp and retrieve files from a bricked bootloop note 3, and also flash back to stock firmware. but the battery is totally dead, so I need to charge it first somehow or use USB during the process will be ok even it's dead battery?

Can i just add. The TWRP for model SM-N910F .tar is exactly the same as .img? There is no .tar with those extra files. Any alternative downloads?

bruh im exynos 910H and my recovery mode is rlly different an android appears with a blue thing in his center then it says failed... after that it shows reboot phone/ shut down/bla bla external storage update... i moved the file from the download internal storage to sd card it appears but when i hit the power buttom (start) it says 2 errors like persing files and that stuff... its rlly different

I followed all steps and when I opened SU it would not update binary nor did it ask if I wanted to disable knox. First time trying to root and I believe it was unsuccessful. Any suggestions? Is it harmful for me to leave as is?

hi zedo, my current note 4 is a SM-N910G running under android 4.4.4 and when i download the file for SM-N910G i get a recovery.img and my computer pops up the disc burner and i get stuck here. any suggestions? its very different from this video's tutorial

Hi, I installed exactly as the video describes, note 4. After root, it gives me 'dm-verity verification failed", twrp isn't there and i can't flash anything at all because it keeps saying everification failed. So I followed directions to flash back to stock, reinstalled your twrp file via odin and it does the exact same thing. CAn't flash anything???? any help?

Is there a way to get FULL Root access for sprint samsung note 4 lollipop 5.0.1? I rooted, however I does not allow me to Remove the Bloat Ware, either via Titanium Backup or deleting them direction via the System/App Folder.

Hello max, I'm having problems with superSU this is what it says,
"SuperSU
There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!
If you just upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device!"

Hi Max I followed the steps and downloaded twrp. However when I try and get into TWRP. it goes straight into system recovery instead of TWRP. Any ideas what I've done wrong?

How is it like to use the T-Mobile Note 4 on At&t network? Are there any restrictions to it or problems like being able to update it, internet, bootloader,etc? I'm a newbie and I recently bought the note 4 just to find out that it has a locked bootloader so i can't root. Now I returned it and is wondering if T-Mobile Note 4 will work on AT&T without problems.

Hey Max, I rooted my Sprint Note 4 with Lollipop 5.0, however when I launched SuperSu it did not prompt me to Disable KNOX, therefore I do not have Full Root Access I even rebooted and re-rooted several time with no luck.

Hey all, i got 1 problem when im rooting. im in the TWRP recovery system but i get some failure with the MD5 in the logg. so when im rebooting my phone it's just keep looping the android screen. what have i done wrong or missing? please im going crazy over this and i cant figure it out. After I did this root for some reason my note4 became really unresponsive, slow and laggy, to the point that I cant pair my moto360, some times I type a text but the letters don't appear in the screen just a few seconds latter and stuff like that, any suggestions?

Ive got a SM-N910G. Didn't work.When started in recovery mode, it showed up a completely different menu. I saw some other videos and they all have a CM auto-root file. What ur showing here is the 2nd step in other videos. Is there any chance that what ur showing here is wrong? Did u flash CM auto root before making this video?

Ok, I dont know whats going on, I have done everything correctly to the letter up to having the the phone reboot after doing the whole Odin thing. Im on Sprint and Im sure I downloaded the correct file, however when I start the phone in recovery mode it just keeps booting in the regular recovery mode, not TWRP. Any suggestions?
