I love smart switch! I transfered everything from my old phone to the new one. I transferred all my data, accounts, wallpapers and even the homescreen folders etc... The new phone was exactly like the old phone
Smart switch is just king.
Does it delete the stuff on the old phone?
Was it fast or slow and how long did he take with you the time and size of the files?
When using smart switch for your photos does it keep everything in the photo in the exact same path? (i.e. Let's say I have a folder called JB Docs and in that folder I have one called My Pics, then beneath that response lies each category of my photos like Xmas 2021,
Vacation 2019, Cars, FB, etc. Will smart switch keep the same path or just flatten the directory out? Because, I also under JB Docs have a My Vids folder and a music folder, with different albums underneath. Thx! 👍

Trick! Make sure you buy 3.1 type-c cable separately for 10 times faster data transfer than 2.0 cable that come with the box

I just discover about smart switch and I'm glad for the function. I do have a question regarding transferring data from sd card though. Why are some files going through but not all from my SD card? It is large file sizes but some of it were successful but not everything are getting transferred 😢
Smart Switch is great. I remember the one problem I ran into, which won't be a problem anymore, when I switched from a N20U to my S22U it ended up creating multiple folders for camera and some other folders because I had an SD card in my N20U. Actually just a few months ago the Gallery app finally merged all those folders together.

@@jwb-221 if you are coming from another Samsung device then yes it will, but if coming from a non-Samsung device or a Apple device it might not because the folder structure may be different on your old phone. The only way to know is to give it a try. I'm by no means an expert when it comes to Smart Switch. Since I used a Samsung device for about 5yrs I only ever used Smart Switch a few times and recently it was between other Samsung devices like my Samsung phone and a Samsung Tablet. Right now I'm not even on a Samsung phone, I switched to a Pixel 8 Pro.
I''ve always had Samsung since the Note 4, after my days with the Compaq Ipaq to show my age.. 😂 I'll probably try 1 or 2 folders for future reference. But I will probably just stick to my usual tactic of copying my JB Docs folder to and external GFlash drive and copy it over. I still have old copieees of movies and MP3's! Oh well, I'll keep you posted, BTW it will be a transition from a S22 U to the S24 U.

what about using a usb 3.1 cable?
I currently have an s22 Ultra and purchased an s23. Tried using Smart Switch and it keeps getting stuck. Have tried everything I can read and the app just wont work.... Anytime I try, it either gets stuck or it'll tell me the old phone was disconnected.
Smart switch is awesome ,used it to transfer from my s10 plus to upgrade to my s23 ultra
After you transfer your data, will you see everything vanish from your old device, or can I still use that if I want?
Since all cables are not the same, is that a max high-speed cable?
If you have existing photos and videos in the new phone, will that be deleted if you transferred the data from old to the new one or it will just add the photos and videos on top of the existing data on the new phone?

great video man. I ran into an issue trying to use smart switch. I have a s10+ with android 4.1 on it and every time I connect my s24 ultra via cable or wifi it will ONLY transfer my s24 ultra TO the s10+ and not the s10+ to the s24 ultra. Is there any other way to do this that you know of?

If you use the cable, how long will the battery last with smartswitch? I always had an SD card which made it easy. No with a 1TB phone half full, the next time i use this will be a lot of data...4 or 5 hours.
Also, still know someone with an SD card. Does it now transfer these over correctly? So camera goes to internal DCIM folder etc.

Flagship device mostly uses Usb-c 3.0 and above so make sure you buy 3.1 usb-c cable separately for 10 times faster data transfer, the cable come with box usually 2.0 version

i have had trouble with the smart switch years ago and NON if my apps abd data or my music from my sd card was transfered and i had to redownload everything and reset ALLL my my passwords😢😢😢😢!!! i am getting an s23 ultra to upgrade from the a32 5g on metro pcs and i am not sure if the smart switch will be even worth trying again,, but i am going to try the backup and restore from my google account from my old phone to the new phone!! i have about 60gb of data including apps and about 500 to 700 songs on my sd card and if the smart switch does NOT work to transfer ALL my music then im goimg the old fashioned way using my pc and transfer my music between phones😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

From secure folder, I did work out a way, remove them from secure folder, into gallery, then use yr system to transfer over into new phone
Just a question... would smart switch be able to transfer my app passwords over to my new phone i.e. passcodes and biometrics too?
Just move from Moto to Samsung, first I made a note of all passwords on Moto,then had to do all my biometrics for the new Samsung first,banks were easy, HSBC gave me QR code on old Moto to scan for the Samsung.All rather painless.

Settings/General/Reset - Cloud &External Storage BACKUP, do both
If you getting new phone then can do Switch & transfer all data to new phone
But better to do BACKUP before
Also do a Backup of File Folder Pics to External Hard drive.

What's the best way to transfer a lot of photos and videos from the phone to the pc? For me wired transfers are really slow (Tried everything. I'm using usb c on S21)
I believe it depends on your PC or the adapter being used. File transfer is limited to the speed at which the Laptop can do or the port hub.
It depends on your laptop and phone transfer speeds. I have a Samsung S23 Ultra and it has UFS 4.0 storage (4,200Mbps read and 2,800Mbps write) to pair with my Samsung T7 Shield which has USB 3.2 Gen 2 (1,050Mbps read and 1,000Mbps write). All my transfers are lightning fast.

Because I usually just have it skip photos, vids, and music and copy my own JB Docs folder to keep the same path structure.

Hi, just a clarification. I need to switch data from my old S10 to the new S24 using Smart Switch. I mounted a memory card on the old S10. How can I transfer the data stored on the memory card to the new S24 considering that there is no memory card slot on the S24? Does Smart Switch include this possibility?

Where should the sim be though?
You can Move the SIM Whenever You'd like. The data transfer is done via Wifi Direct or by Cable. All i'll say is, have it in the new phone atleast when its done to send a test call and test Text to make sure its all good and then factory reset the old device.

How can you say that someone will save X amount of time using a cable when the Internet speed is dependent on the person's internet? Not everyone is going to get the same Internet speed as you.
