      @knighttraitor Před 9 lety

      *****Thanks for this tutorial. But I want to ask a few things on the GApps. What happen if I boot the CM for the first time without installing the GApps first? Can you recommend which GApps version is good for people who don't really like much bloatware but still need some of the important ones (average bloatware maybe like google map etc.)?

    • @markinius8866
      @markinius8866 Před 9 lety +3

      Persie Wan It is possible to use CM without Gapps. You wont have the Google setup at the wizard. Although you can still install it after the setup wizard albeit you just need set it up manually. And just search for nano Gapps or micro Gapps if you only want like the Play Store and gmail for example.

    • @raccoonmoder
      @raccoonmoder Před 9 lety +3

      The GAPPS is not completely necessary, and you can boot for the first time in your custom ROM without GAPPS. The only problem is that the Play Store and other Google Apps like Chrome will not be installed, but if you have the GAPPS zip file you can install it from TWRP recovery later. But you should just install it with your custom ROM. Unfortunately for copyright reasons, custom ROMs are not allowed to package GAPPS with them anymore, so this step is a must if you need those things.

    • @Goodborni
      @Goodborni Před 9 lety

      +Igor Fernando If you are like me who rarely listens to people advices, just go on and start the system without it, it wont hurt your phone at all. After that you can decide whether you want the GApps or not ^^

    have you ever had an issue where you WIPE everything but internal storage, flash Rom/Gapps and when you connect it to Windows, Windows Explorer can only see the Android and DCIM folders (although MTP is enabled). The CM file manager shows all the files, but Windows Explorer doesn't. Does TWRP mess the owner/permissions of internal storage? (on OnePlus One (aka bacon) and TWRP 2.8.7.0)
    on Philz Touch on bacon, I never have this issue.

      So Rom is the operating sys. like windows.. on PCs right? I have done a few factory hard reset on my zte phone. Will this process erase that factory file used on hard reset? I would always want to keep that file along with my own restore point files. Also is there a truly alternative operating sys. for your phone.. like lunux for PCs? I just hate how the screen background and icons look on the new phones.. looks like child's drawing, with pastel color crayons.

    'Unable to mount storage' means you havent mounted the partition
    Its not a 'bug' and it wont 'work just fine'...
    In the main menu, you need to choose to mount the partitions you wish to wipe using the 'mount' button PRIOR to wiping.

    I've gote TWRP installed, it doesn't allow me to backup anything. I hit backup and try to store it on my SD Card, it auto reboots after a while and no files are present. Is it possible for me to wipe the System in preparation for the ROM? And then if things go sideway is it possible for me to use odin to install my stock OS again?
    I have downloaded an image of my stock OS from the samsung site, please let me know if this will work. I'm on Kit Kat currently and it's very annoying to deal with all the issues i'm facing currently.

    Hey, I just installed CM11 on my international HTC One X (endeavoru). All went well until I rebooted the system for the first time directly after installing CM11 and the GApps. It is now stuck in the cyanogenmod loading animation for already 40 minutes. Should I now just power off the device and start it again?
