IS TUNISIA SAFE TO VISIT IN 2019? (My Family Trip)
Vložit

- I traveled to Tunis, Tunisia for the first time to visit my family living there. I received a lot of questions like "Is it safe visit Tunisia as a solo female traveler?"
My cousin has been living there for over 3 years so she knew her way around well and acted as my tour guide. My time in Tunis was not nearly enough, but what I was really happy about was getting to see a sliver of cousin's life in Tunis. We met friendly people, ate delicious Tunisian food, strolled by the Mediterranean, went for coffee and sugar donuts, and for hours, did nothing but sit and sing with strangers. I was relaxed and felt safe, and there’s nothing better than having a non local-local take you around. Coming to Tunisia, if just for a day, was an amazing experience.

Your cousin's accent is amazing, she speaks tunisian dialect and you almost don't notice that she is a foreigner.
I'd say "foreigner" is a little bit of a harsh word :/
Because as you see here in Tunisia no one is a foreigner and everybody is dearly welcome!

COME AGAIN
i recently came back from tunisia(i visited hammamet, tunis and sousse), a beautiful country with amazing masjids and medinas. We felt safe at all times and the people were really nice
obvs dont go to the wrong place at wrong time, you wouldnt do that even in the safest of place
SuperZvn you should go to place more unpopular as “binzerte” and “tozeur”(where star wars was filmed)
No we are arabic tunisians
What is the best place to celebrate Eid in Tunisia and do sacrifice of animal? Is it Tunis?
Are there nice beaches near Tunis?
@nice try167 I'm not from Tunisia and will be just visiting. I have no backyard. So as a Muslim tourist, what are my options? Thanks for replying.
I am a Norwegian girl with a Tunisian father and I am going to Tunisia soon which I have been terrified of after hearing my dad and the media talk about stuff happening. This video made me remember the Tunisia I visited growing up that I took so much pride in and where the people were so friendly and open!
I just did a road trip in Tunisia and the country really blew my mind. And people are so friendly and welcoming
Tunisia is the best arabic country i've ever seen especially for sightseeing it has very beautiful beaches !! 🇹🇳
Aww I'm tunisian so ty
Your cousin seems that she's become more tunisian than the tunisians xD
She's leading the way, pretending to like Harissa, arguing with the driver, I mean that's pretty much a new Katy 😁

True, for last six years i am visiting Tunisia. This summer for one month i was there n every time at the end i feel ah.. i stayed very less....

"Safe".. who said it wasn't safe??
Unfortunately the media doesn't make this area look like the "safest" place for travel. I agree in that I receive this very generic question a lot - "is it safe?" That's why I wanted to show that in Tunis, or other places I visit, it certainly is not "unsafe" : D I'm a dual citizen of the Philippines, my family lives there, and I frequently get asked "is it safe" to go there, because of the media that sensationalizes the worst of what's going on. In this case, ALWAYS be vigilant, no matter you are in the world
@@HaleyTakesOntheWorld fair enough
@@HaleyTakesOntheWorld Tunisia is safe. It is my country. The media is lying. Why do not we hear about crimes in Australia and America? Hello everyone

Your cousin is awesome. I'm living and working abroad in the Middle East for 8 years now, but still I couldn't speak Arabic well. I have a Tunis colleague at work and he is super cool. Nice vlog, Haley.
haha it seems like a difficult language
@@HaleyTakesOntheWorld You are very welcome
But the tunisian dialect is widely different from other arabic dialects , even other arabs don't understand us except maghreb countries (morocco and algeria)

That food looks amazing! The couscous and fish looked 🤤🤤🤤🤤

Haley Dasovich hi haley are you going to travel to Israel?
Then try a home made traditional couscous, it's even more delicious than restaurant's couscous 😉😊

You are so welcome here. Glad you enjoyed your time
Thx for the video! Tunisia has been always safe and welcoming tourist and that make a proud Tunisian.
Tunisia is like the arabic version of Spain in my opinion.
Tunisia is like the NORTH AFRICAN version of.... if you are Tunisian, i would suggest spending some time to know your ethnicity, it doesn't take much these days to search for anything, there are lots and lots of publications done by scientists that prove with DNA testing that Tunisians are ethnically north African with less than 3% of the total population ethnically Arabs...
in case you are not Tunisian, hope you learned something new...
@@MrSavanish absolutely right. I did the test in Canada and guess what I am 72% Amazigh the rest mix of other ethnicities
Aaliyah tunisianx tunisia isnt arabic
@@nofuckinname5206 true we only speak the language
Maysa Ben yedder the Tunisian language has nothing to do with the arabic ! Even arabs do not understand it . Probably they use arabic only in few official stuffs even tho french is more used
The couscous and the runny egg looked so good! Good thing I was eating lunch watching this haha and Tunisian music is so mesmerizing :O your storytelling just keeps getting better and better!

Tunisia wow. Look at that visuals. Class!.
Tunisia is a beautiful country. Been there February 2019. Enjoyed every minute of it. From the time I arrived at Tunis carthage airport, I knew I'll be safe. The people are lovely, accommodating, warm and friendly. Inspite of the language barrier at times, it didn't bother me at all, these beautiful people are helpful and do more than you asked for. So much respect. I love the food, specially, kafteji in kairouan, mlawi, couscous and more. So delicious. Ok, I have to request not to put harisi as I'm not a hot and spicy eater. 😁 However, still yummy.
If in Tunisia, visit Kairouan , Hammamet , Sousse, Chebika, Monastir, Mahdia, El Jem, The Capital, absolutely spectacular and an amazing places. Planning to go back soon, later this year. MISS it so much. I assure everyone, its a SAFE PLACE to visit. Love from Australia ❤😍
@ruben styne I'm a dudette 😁.
Noted the correction. (Harisa). I always request, "No harisi please" 😁 Thank you.
Yes I did enjoyed my visit. And Monastir is magic. My favourite place. Will be back very soon.
Have a lovely day.
The singing voice 😊 you're so talented Haley!
You are quite right, till now it’s been one month. I don’t speak Arabic or French, still people in Tunisia are very helping and caring. Food is awesome and I feel completely safe here. I did not expect that when I was coming here. I have visited some places in Tunis and I enjoyed a lot especially the historical sites.
That was nice! Its like a week of culture in Tunisia even for one day.
I'm Tunisian and I just love reading foreigns' comments on Tunisia, you people are all sweet and have said only good stuff about it ♥ welcome anytime else♥

Does Tunisia give permanent residence to outsiders or is it like Saudi Arabia? No PRs to outsiders
@@HassaanHudaAbbasi Nah, it's more like North Korea than Saudi Arabia... im so done. xD
It does just ask the Tunisian ambassy in your country.
But if you want the nationality it's a bit harder you need to live in it for 5 years, own a property and speak Arabic
Im so shocked to see a video like this come up in my recommendations, i love that new people are finding out about tunisia and about how beautiful it really is.
