Buy and keep an external battery with you and use a charging station to recharge your battery if low. Never plug your phone into any public charging port.
@@clouddylol you're the one that is wrong. There is no data sent through the power cord unless it's plugged in to a USB port. Off you use your own power block, it just plugs into the power socket
This isn’t new. I don’t think this report does a good job of describing the problem/solution. Not every type of plug is vulnerable to this type of attack. This type of attack occurs when a usb outlet is used instead of a power outlet because the usb outlet has the potential to transfer data. Plug your phone into a regular old wall outlet. Or better yet, carry a portable charger with you.
@@theotheleo6830 true. But it was stated at the end as in a minor way while the rest of the report repeatedly showed full charging stations, implying that the stations themselves were the issue. Only someone who already knew that wall outlets only transfer electricity would notice that everytime they plugged something in, they did it with a usb connector. It’s giving deceitful for the sake of having the entire video watched. And moreover, it’s not actually helpful.
Also who doesn't travel with a charger and base? I guess one might be tempted to just pull out the cord and plug it in. I always use the entire charger when not at home. Base and all.
When will people understand that technology has a long ways to go before it is safe . DO NOT LINK YOUR DEVICES TO ANYTHING FINANCIAL ! Do all your banking in person , if you have to use a plastic card do it in person .
I'm having a hard time following this. A power outlet with USB ports is only setup to pass electrical current, not data. Therefore, you would have to access the outlet's internals to add storage necessary to store and pass malware to a connected device. You're more likely to be compromised via public wi-fi than a power station.
ALL the ivy league, tech ect schools and no one thought about that before they made all those charging stations, just like those car key fobs and push start cars. Do you really have to wonder who made it easier for hackers to hack.
eh, it's the fbi under the binladen administration, bunch of goobers and diversity hires, whatever they say you can be confident the opposite side of the coin to be true
That's because there's a charging cable only and then there's a USB cable which can do transfer and charge. Just make sure you use the right charging cable
I told my banker that 2 + 2 isn't always the same. He told me it is always 4 and the amount of money I have is this much. I changed the rules on him and now it is more. Tommorrow it maybe less due to changes in 2 + 2 but today it is a lot. Despite the fact I made no new deposits or withdraws from my account I can wind up with a different total depending on what 2 + 2 from one day to the next. Isn't Sophistry crazy?
And why would we want to change to a cashless society. No thank you
No monetary system is safe. Cash can be stolen too.

You don't need to go that far, just use the power plug and not the data plug.
Ridiculous how you can’t go and do anything these days with a piece of mind. It’s always something. 🙄🤨
Why are those ports anything more then just a power source?
That's literally the point of the video... Because bad people ruin things.
Could only happen if you used their USB port. When using your phone's power cube, there's no 'data' connection = safe.
wrong, it only requires the usb cord, thats it.

Actually, that solution was stated in the report.

espionage is a job. also, it’s not always about “you” - it’s about who and what you have access to.
Working hard at not working seems like a new full time job.

Always bring your own plug converter to USB ...never use public USB ports.
✌🏼
Or use a USB charger maybe?
*Y'all stupid? It called Malware and can be placed in a cable, plug converter or a USB power bank*

😅 can't ever have anything nice
Never could. There have always been people who would come up with ways to take your money. Only thing that ever changes is their methods.
so basically use your own wall charger at public places.
This is why I don't download banking apps onto my phone. Of all my devices, my phone is the most vulnerable.
This expert said Android is open source and open sources are more vulnerable! Wow
She works for Apple i call bs
We can't have anything nice in this world.
Y'all just use an old fashion wall outlet geez.😂
So charge a portable battery charger using the public USB then plug your phone into the battery while it's charging.

Brings fully charged battery pack .
Whoa, someone needs to design a charge-only cable.... no data
Charge-only cables are widely available.
Don't jack my juice!!!
Does having a power bank to keep charge eliminate the risk or can the batteries be vulnerable
Bringing a charged battery pack can be a "life saver2
ALL the ivy league, tech ect schools and no one thought about that before they made all those charging stations, just like those car key fobs and push start cars. Do you really have to wonder who made it easier for hackers to hack.
Or carry a charge-only cable instead of a data cable.
Juice jacking 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
More worried about “ballot jacking” that’S how we ended up with CARTEL KATIE.
I hate people that don't put their shopping carts back after using them.... Oh, we aren't just saying things we don't like?
Darn! You can't even get juice anymore. 😮
Simple solution.
Use a 'Charge Only' USB cable, no data transfer possible.
Just be careful fellas,
eh, it's the fbi under the binladen administration, bunch of goobers and diversity hires, whatever they say you can be confident the opposite side of the coin to be true
I doubt the news station did their homework, but juice jacking has been around for at least 8 years.
i only used charging cables they can not transfer data
WALMART SELLS A VERY COMPACT AND EFFECTIVE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY FOR A LOW PRICE WHICH WORKS SUPER!
CARRY A COUPLE OF THEM!!
Use your plug and don't directly connect to the USB on the wall.. problem solved
Bro… just use the charger brick that came with your phone.. Or get the Anker PowerCore 10k or 20k. I have the 20k and it’s a Godsend.
That's because there's a charging cable only and then there's a USB cable which can do transfer and charge. Just make sure you use the right charging cable
Oh cool it's a two apple ad to scare old people!
How much did apple pay for this ad
Why is this news? This has been an issue since USB came out. We had to avoid random USB devices at work as far back as 2003.
When traveling, I always bring my charger and external battery supply.
In any case, if I'm gonna bring the cable, I might as well bring the charger.
1 day ago? This has been a thing for years now.
As we edge toward digital currency 😂😂😂
I have NEVER and would never. This is just basic information.
*where do y'all think the portable USB chargers come from? ONLY CHARGE AT HOME!*
Bring your own battery pack and recharge from that.
$20 will get you one that should refill your phone 3 times.
Always carry your brick. 👍
They should have made it fool proof
Don't use a data cable. But the data and charging cables look virtually identical.
Nothing seems to be SAFE anymore. Good greif we share this world with pure eviil
If it is wireless, has a com port, or connects to a network, IT CAN BE HACKED
Prove it! Show us when and where this has happened?
We need those i530's back...beep-beep where u at??
I bought protection device to block the ability to juice jack
That’s just common sense always use a block.
I can’t use a god damn charger no more sad 😞
Why are they talking about something in 2011
The fact people are using their phone so much that they cant just get a 50 dollar rechargeable battery to carry around.
Nobody but me will Jack my juices!
