Time was, if it wasn't for warranty work, Dealerships would barely have any work at all. These days, the exact opposite is true; denying as many warranty claims as possible in favor of shoehorning as many of those out of warranty cash cows up onto the lift as possible.
*idea Take it to a DIFFERENT dealer, but DON'T tell them it's under warranty and if asked tell them you're pretty sure it's not. THEN see what they say!!!*

@@Rekuzan thank you that is a greattt thing that I must do. My lease is up and I don’t know what in the world I’m going to do. Been studying up on what is going on and the inner workings of dealerships, and my plan is to extend the lease until August and take more time to research and go to different dealerships and see what is out there. I don’t want to be screwed again like I was about 15 years ago by nissan. I am definitely more educated now, but these salesman tactics get me and make my spine mush. I’m trying to stay focused. For example, I got the whole “those are nice headphones where did you get them…” That one I noticed right after I left because I remembered learning that tactic at a sales conference. If they can afford airpods, they can afford an extra $25 a month. However, my airpods were found run over in the road and glitch out all the time. Anyways, extending the lease until August good idea? I’m also worried about the banks and the rest of the economy in the next few months

Pretty sure for tesla the data is transmitted remotely. You can press the button on the charging station to open their charge port on their car and plug somebody in so they get charged for being parked in the parking spot.

@T Savage Mark , my point is that USB ports are used for data transmission. That is how they access a device. E- chargers are power transfers only. There is no data transmission, so there is no data connection for someone to access the vehicle's electronics.

I do not agree with the sentiment that you can hijack someone's car through their charging port. On phones, the charging port is the same port used for the data port. In an electric vehicle, if there is no high bandwidth DATA that needs to be interfaced through the charging port. Only basic information is sent back to the charger like the state of charge and battery temperature, but there is no personally identifiable information other than the Vin number being sent back to servers through the charging network. Charging ports on vehicles, it's not a worthwhile attack vector for getting personal information.

I have a 2012 Scion TC with A/C problems. The compressor is engaged and I have it full blast recycle inside. It doesn’t gets cold. The A/C amount is in the green zone according to my gauge. What can I do. Empty and refill? Maybe a sensor went bad? I can’t find the sensor and local A/C service center (Firestone) is asking for $1,000 for an A/C kit (whatever that is….)

The tech really didn’t take off, but you can use electrical outlets as internet points. Before Wi-Fi was the go to, I bought and still have the system that plugs your router into the out let and anywhere with in 50’ I could plug the receiver in and have internet at that point. So technically just plugging into an electrical outlet isn’t safe ether.

My personal sienna 2017 with 160k miles had the same issue. this shitty 8speed tranny was replaced free of charge when I called Toyota. I also received letter back in 2020 from Toyota stating that my tranny covered with 10 years unlimited miles . Scotty please reach customer who asked your advice

Use a USB condom. The power wires and data wires are separate, so all you have to do is not connect the data wires. You'll still get at least 2.5 watts by USB spec (and often more, up to about 12 watts) without computer-negotiated power (ie USB-PD).
