    Test riding the 2021 Street Bob 114 and 2021 Sport Glide at Los Angeles Harley Davidson. Keep in mind I briefly rode each motorcycle and this is just a first impression review. I think both Softail's are great bikes and it comes down to the type of riding your getting into.

    I'm 5' 5.5" and I am really comfortable with my Sport glide's forward controls. I personally don't like mid controls. I feel more in control with forward controls. That being said go with what you want and what gives you the riding feeling you like. Loved my Sportster and would probably like the Street Bob but I love my Sport Glide so much more :)

      Thanks brotha! Yes that 114 should be standard on the Softails, but I guess Harley always has to make it hard to decide by spreading out the features across different models.

    That sport glide should come with the 114 and dual front disc brakes. They should at least offer a sport glide special that comes with it, but imo it would be better if they all just came with it

      I completely agree with this. Especially when you prefer the look of the sport glide but end of up going for the low rider s because of the brakes and the 114.

    Good review. Love my Sport Glide. Added Gustafsson windshield (HDs suck) and it made for a great 1 up light tour bike when I rode to Sturgis from Ohio. Pop the quick release fairing & bags off and it’s a bar hopper. Added stage 3 and it’s a big bore short stroke 114. HD tuner S&S Streetmaster 2-1 compliant pipes to retain full warranty. Dealership built tuned & dynoed 116 HP. No regrets!

    I'm hoping by the time I'm ready to step up to my next bike, they put the 114 in the Sport Glide. I think if it keeps growing in popularity, they probably will. Then again, the idea of the bike is likely to be smooth.

    I had a 2020 Street Glide Special with the 114 now I have the 2021 Sport Glide with the 107 it has plenty of power for that bike I don't feel like I lost anything it is a lighter bike also...in my opinion I feel to many folks are caught up on the 114 and will miss out on how amazing the new Sport Glide is.

      @vernlochtefeld1626 Před 3 lety +4

      I did the stage 3 at bike purchase. Harley 20 percent discount with the cost built into my bike loan so no out of pocket plus the upgrades are covered by the bike & loss gap insurance. No financial risk should the bike get stolen or wrecked. It’s a bigger bore shorter stroke 114. With Harley tuner & S&S Streetmaster 2-1 compliant exhaust it retained full warranty and made 116HP at the wheel on the dealership dyno.

    Great review 👍, I like em both. I've done so much homework on Sport Glide even though it has the 107 I'm cool with that. So much you could do with that. Stage 2, bassani exhaust, saddlemen explorer Ls and crash bars. Maybe a different fairing already comes with forward controls. Again great review 👏

      @@TryItWithTim one thing the Sport Glide has is where the mono shock adjustment is located. Very easy to get to. The Low Rider St or the LR S, you have to take off the seat. On the St you have sound music. Easy go out and buy a stereo that'll fit the Sport Glide. Both bikes have inverted forks. The only difference now is the Low Rider St has dual disc brakes in the front. Hands down I'd still take the Sport Glide.

      Thanks brotha! That is a tough one and it’s going to come down to what type of riding you plan on doing. That R6 will be great for weekend twistys but how about those longer road trips? • @TryItWithTim
      @TryItWithTim  Před 3 lety +2

      I think both bikes would be suitable for a first bike, and it really comes down to how you ride it. The 114 on the street bob definitely feels more responsive, and experience with throttle control will help you control the bike more. But if your brand new to riding then the sport glide may be the way to go because its low to the ground (easy to stabilize) and the 107 motor is not as snappy as the 114. For a new rider the sport glide comes with a lot of features that will save you some money and the bike is basically a mini touring bike.
