Wait what. 12 L / 100km is bad for u?? are u insane? Its a 600hp car mate
Marvin B +1
LoL! I owned e90 330i and that drink 10-11 L on daily work drive.
It had ecu tune and that supposed to make it less thirsty eaven... So 12L is absolutely fine on car like this!
My C220d (a 170hp boring wagon) averages 9L/100km, sometimes in the city 11L/100km and im OK with it. For an E63 with that power 12L/100km it is fenomenal, it is not much at all.
I think he's a Prius fan-boy.... gtfo.... My S65 AMG drinks 17L/100km and this guy is bitching about 12L.... dickhead, it's a V8, what'd you expect???
+mikealanzo u aint got a s65 u dumbass, stop bragging about other people's lifes, u scammer piece of shit
Consider a V12 Ferrari, blame the fuel efficiency of a V8 AMG... logic
LD #22 still doesn’t explain the fuel efficiency logic though, does it ?
Oh, you mean to tell me that your 360 is unreliable? Well knock me over with a feather, I am shocked to the core by this news! An unreliable Ferrari?!?!? Unthinkable!
A person should only get a car like the 360 if they have a fairly large garage 4 or more cars. And some money to not worry about reliability
It is a super car, expect some malfunctions like race cars, they were never reliable.
Do fuck off, he's living the dream, so what if it's a financial challenge, that's motivation. So it's off the road for a month, I'm still driving a fucking Ferrari for the other 11.
@@ImBarryScottCSS No you're not and the fact that you say this makes it very clear you've probably never even seen a Ferrari in person, let alone have actual owners tell you that it is their weekend car and not a daily driver.
Most Ferrari's don't drive over like 4 or 5000km a year because owners don't want to void the 10-15 year warranties you can get.
Back to driving your used civic.
The more you stop at the fuel station, the more tescos you’re gonna visit, the happier the kids are, so it delivers its purpose as a family car
“Really aggressive air con" no one has ever said anything gayer.
😂😂
He’s gay asf
The agressive air con is an advantage if you left the car in the sun. I don't get Sam.
As someone who owns one...the air con can and will startle the hell out of you sometimes upon start up. It senses on really warm days and will go into full blast mode right off the bat with the driver doing nothing more than starting the vehicle.
@@break_it_bill u have an e63?
Can’t figure out onboard tech, blames the car.
Test drives a 600HP V8 car, expects more than 20mpg on highway.
Are you new to the car world? 🤨
fr, if you want fuel economy dont get an amg
Having owned one of these cars for the grand total of a week (long story) I can actually understand where he is coming from. I have previously owned a tuned F80 M3 and that was positively frugal compared to this thing. It is literally so bad on fuel it might as well have a hole drilled in the fuel tank. The infotainment is really clunky and confusing to use - the iDrive in BMW is a lot slicker. I still have a hankering to get another one based on how amazing it was to drive and that massive v8 and noise but I don't know! It is possible to get semi acceptable MPG out of it but that would involve driving at the most pedestrian speeds it becomes pointless. Hmm!
My friends E63S did a quarter of a tank in 4 laps of Bedford... Ha, crazy.
Skip to 9:00 for the title
Bet you're fun at parties.
Your the real MVP
watching the first 8:59 just for you my guy
Thanks bud
Jay Hoonz No one cares that you’re wasting ur life
BMW paid him to make this video.
Why not a Lexus LC500?
I sat in one of those at the weekend. Beautiful car in person.
Winner
GSF ;), 4 doors, big boot, same engine, but good to see a fellow appreciator!
While your away for the year, might as well get Ivan into a shop for that beastly engine swap for its transformation into a beast ;)
Why I won’t be watching another video from this channel...I came for the AMG wagon man, not to hear you drone on at a Ferrari garage. Fool me once😑
Sam, you have beyond perfected the inclusion of proper b roll and drone shots. This video just seemed effortlessly brilliant. Thank you, Sam.
Solid camera work as usual. Just sad you skipped the F50. =(
and the periscopa
The guy showing you round the garage was awesome, really natural and funny. Would love to see more of him on the channel!
Buying a new car:
Normal guy- 3-4 Test drives
CZcamsr : 10 cars, 1 week each, 1081248 miles, 100 videos.
Loved the ‘behind the scenes time lapse’ quite interesting to see the stuff behind the camera that no one really normally shows
Hey Sam, considered any of the Q.V. models Alfa offer??
they brake like crazy got 2 friends haveing the QV.. and it is nightmare. sadly. because once it works one of the best cars ever
Alfa’s go in the shop for repairs and never come back out lol.
ASAP Z that’s just the old Alfa’s..... the new ones are very reliable
Guus Berkhof 100% false
I've done 14k miles in my QF, not missed a beat...are you guys nuts? Yeah they are awful, please dont buy and let me be ultra exclusive in the best car in it's price range for years.
You need to film at Simon Furlong every week, he would fit so well on the channel. The way you chat with other people regularly make this channel really special
About the MPG on the E63, I have one myself and on a motorway, in comfort mode, I can get 40 MPG, this includes the cheeky acceleration from time to time. you probably had the Auto start stop off. with it on the engine essentially becomes a four-cylinder and saves a load of petrol.
Your average over a drive is 40mpg? Nah dont think so
@@mitchellsteindler - Totally agree. 40mpg my arse
regardless, 20mpg is totally fine. my jag gets maybe 19mpg and i can go almost 400miles on a tank. ive had cars that get like 8-12 mpg, so 20mpg in a twin turbo V8 station wagon seems pretty awesome to me.
@@mbp1505 Well unlike you guys, he actually HAS the car. So stfu pls.
@@ibtixgaming7168 How do you know what car I've got ?
Luckily there are a lot of other choices he has left! 🙌🏼😊
Supercars4u the Audi RS6 Avant is better than this car in everything.
Yeah I agree with you, but Sam said he doesn't really like the RS6, So yeah don't think it's gonna be the RS6
Problem is the RS6 is soon to be replaced, so no point buying one now as the replacement is out next year!!
Tepp thats a good point as well!
@@user-zm7de9fc9x see yourself out mate. The E63 is in every concevable way better. Don't agree? Go on Chris Harris insta as he has an E63 on test and says the RS6 has been dethroned as the E63 is better in every way dynamically.
what mode are you driving in on the freeway? I remember reading in comfort whiles crusing half the v8 is shut off for fuel savings
Hello Sam, just a quick question which mount do you use for the gopros to stick on the cars? Great content btw :)
In which mode have you driven it mostly, ECO or Sport+? :)
I think you're right about the age thing. I wouldn't have been attracted to this in my 20s, or early 30s (nor could I have afforded it then) but now I'm 40 and have two kids and a dog, as a petrolhead this car seems like perfection. I mean the mileage is pants, but that's what happens with that degree of performance. I love my Audi S6 Avant, but this is the perfect upgrade (and thankfully I don't do a ton of mileage).
4 years on, and just stumbled on my own comment. Still keen on the e63s. In fact I'm pondering one very closely right now!
sad to see this thing get rejected, what a beast of a machine tho
Have you thought of the F Pace S? I know you wanted the SVR, but you should test drive the S too.
Alpina B3/B5
Sad to hear you won't be going for this car, BUT! I agree with you on the fuel economy. It's 2018 and you should totally be getting more than 20mpg in a family car, even if it is a performance estate.
Reasons STG is my favorite youtuber:
1. Could have half-arsed a video like this. Never does.
2. Genuine passion and love for cars.
3. Prefers a 360 over a 430, and doesn't give a damn about anones opinion on his dream car.
Mah man.
wrote this on your IG post as well, but I drove the E63 at Mercedes Benz world, and burnt through a tank in an hour. I know it was track use, but that was pretty mental
This car is very capable and would do well for your trip and that is the problem, it is too capable! It will suit your needs and give you no problems (except the fuel usage) and will therefor make for a very boring trip, no different than hundreds of other travel vlogs out there.
You will want something unique that piques the interest of viewers as well as people you meet along the way. Something that will make people smile and want to talk to you.
I said it before, you need a classic (a real 70's classic, not a 90's car). Something that will make you feel like you actually accomplished something when your trip is done.
the "outside passenger wondow looking in" camera angle was pretty cool sam
Ferrari videos are my favorite.
I understand your preference for the 360 as it was your dream Ferrari from your youth. Unfortunately my youth area dream Ferrari was the 288 GTO...
Here in Texas that thing is tiny compared to even a Tacoma
Hey Sam! I own/daily a 2009 C63 AMG and yeah, the MPG is utter shit 🤣... however it’s been a blessing having that car, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with it over the last two years I’ve owned it (put around 45K miles on in those two years, just hit 100K overall miles). For that reason I feel like yes, the MPG is horrible but AMGs are the kind of cars that the more miles you rack up, the more you continue to fall in love with it. If you end up choosing the E63S, I can guarantee that you’ll fall in love 😁
What about a Pagani Zonda Chinque?
Hi Sam, why don't u try the pre facelifted C63s Wagon?
Surely the obvious choice for a round the world car would be a 2CV. Got the reliability, got the ride height and can be fixed anywhere in the world. No brainer😉👍
Sick camera angles!!
RS3 hatch is not a bad choice. Not to mention you could modify something to make it that bit more special
What about the 43? I’m not sure if they make a wagon, since we never get them where I’m from, but it might be a better choice given the better fuel economy
I think the 430 is my all time favourite, never considered owning one though..
Great job I love your work man ❤️❤️❤️, but please consider Land Rover velar or Land Rover sport svr it would be a good option to tackle all kinds of weather and terrain conditions. I know you have driven the velar in the my next daily videos but still
So wild to see that specific enzo in a random video I'm watching on youtube, that's one of my friend's dad's cars, had to do a double take when i saw the plate
Totally agree with you Sam. Its a great car to drive on a test drive, but impossible to fund the fuel requirements, if you even breathe on the accelerator. I ended up buying an E220 Diesel instead for the practicality and economy and much lower road tax!
Stephen Lane If you ended up with an E220 then the E63 was only ever a dream.
😂
Gonna go for an RS4 Avant... looking forward to the trip
Random side note but Sam, have you ever thought about doing an F1 season or race review videos because I know you're a massive F1 fan. Would love to hear your thoughts or do you talk about it on your podcasts?
Mate, that aerial view of the church is absolutely stunning! Where is this at please?! As took a screenshot of it for my laptop background!
Drive the world is a 4x4 pick up. Ford ranger / Hilux - something thrashable off road, cheap / easy to repair and comfortable on long drives
spyburn007 ford henesey velicoraptor 6x6
How exactly would it overshadow the current gen RS6?
Will the new A45 amg come out in time? Also Sam have you thought about putting your name down for the new porchse speedster? Is it in your price range??
Is it me or is Sam morphing in to Kevin McCloud ???
His 360 is his Grand Design 😂😂
I've never hit a guy with glasses.
I find baseball bats to be a lot more efficient.
😂
What do you mean??? You can put this into ECO Mode which will deactivate 4 cylinders and run with 4 cylinders which will use less fuel!!
You could do that in a small city.
My guess is the rs4 is incoming
Hey Sam, you should also have a look at the soon to be released bmw X3m and X4m. They are looking to be great on paper!
Honestly, maybe switch it up and get a WRX STI?
that would be awesome!
Made this comment yesterday. Honestly it's a very logical car for this sort of trip. Wrx even more so with better efficiency and comfort. Most logical of all would be a hybrid toyota/lexus suv.
He just sold his
Yeah how about the new WRX Sti RA?
Reliable, roomy, quite fast and lots of character. The interior might be a dealbreaker for Sam.
You literally posted a video yesterday saying “could this be my new car” and today it’s “no”
Geez
So no M5, RS6 or any V8 in a big car for that matter. So sadly RS4 then....
gamerforever maybe a Gulia Quadrifoglio. V6 turbo
@@luccardi. gulia is to problematic... very unreliable i mean they fucked up electronics. sadly.. the RS5 or RS4 is intresting. choice AWD... will go anywhere... dope interior comfy! and good mpg.
Well he could always go with the C63 S Estate (205 prefaclift), if he wants to stick with the V8.
An Alfa without problems isn't an Alfa
Maciek Jutrzenka only the old ones
My 2 fave ferrari are the 599 GTO and the F12 TDF. Really like the chocolate brown leather interior too
Should have shown more of the Enzo and the Testarossa. 😎 I love those cars!
How is it with the volvo project?
Are you considering the m140i?
Why not go with something a bit... crappy? Like a 2001 V6 citroen C5 for instance
What about the new M3? That would be cool.
Hey sam. I visited the ferrari dealership in virginia water the other day on my way back from supervetura. They had a very strange laferrari sort of thing😅 I genuinely have no idea what it was. Not a laf or a fxxk but it looked similar to a laf but it was very track focused. Thought you may want to check it out👌
FXXK maybe?
Toni Sukles nope. It was matte black and had those square racecar windows. But the wing was a full wing instead of the 2 piece. And the front headlights were different. Whatever it was it looked amazing
Maybe a Glickenhaus thing then
Toni Sukles just checked that online. It may be actually. But not the road going p4/5.
Thanks👍
Toni Sukles nope. Just saw it on instagram. It was actually a laferrari mule. Looked cool imo
P.S the title content is at 9:00
Also, basically the E63s is perfect. It’s just too expensive for Sam and Archie, Incase anyone is wondering. It’s for people with money who don’t worry as much about fuel as these young self made guys do.
What about looking at an rs5 Sportback?
when you are planning to be on the tour with the car, so forget about Londons width restrictions, maybe even consider a LHD Car
Maybe you should look at Audi SQ7, because it is fast, comfortable and it has a diesel engine, so you will have a good fuel economy
"NOOOOO! It's 50, slow down!" 😂 9:40
It’s 70
3:13 that angle is awesome
Sam! How could you not say anything about the F50 in front of the EB110?!
Just get something like a Giulia QV, Bmw M3, C63 sedan (or C43 which sounds very good!)
What do you want with this car in England (speed limit?). Here in Germany, the car certainly makes more sense! One must also not forget: The engine is one of the best ever built and that includes durability.
what about a pre-facelift s63 amg coupe? possibly on the pricier side tho...
Try out a Forester STi as it pretty much ticks all of your boxes
Why aren't the new podcasts on Spotify? Was so nice to have them there
That koenig 348... i remember the big brother based of testarossa with 600, 800 or 1000 hp! In the 80s
You should look into a Porsche Cayman GT4 because they are familiar to your 718 but it looks more aggressive and it sounds and drives really well if not just get an old Picasso
/I had the Airfix kit of tht Pioneer decalled Ferrari racecar
You should consider a GTC4 Lusso T, quite economical and reliable
Will need A LOT of financing tho
So this thing might drink as much fuel as the old 6.2?
He specifically mentions less than 20mpg (12 l/100km) despite doing 2 big MOTORWAY drives. (Although, an audi rs6 will only give you 18mpg in motorway, despite cylinder shutdown)
I get his point. On motorway heavy drives my c63 averages 9 liters. On commutes without motorways and some traffic i am at 13ish.
So i get his point.
Not gonna lie, that side camera angle is dope
Sam, small but practical cars rock! BMW m140i? or one with x-drive? good comfort, fuel efficient, fun, relaibale, cheap (compared to E63s)
OR go diesel?? BMW 335d or 535d? Would love to see an old BMW e90!!!!!
Why don't choose a four seater convertible like a Bmw M4?
Put some wheek spacers on the 360. Wheel to body ratio is odd
Is the 360 going to be shipped to different locations for around the world? Having finance payments for a year on a car sitting in a garage would be expensive no?
Alexander Steele that’s what I was wondering. But saying that, as there not really deprecating and holding value it’s not a really issue I guess
How about taking IVAN THE VOLVO?
Vishal Mano nah that series was dull
Prolly the only car CZcamsr apart from Doug DeMuro, Hoovie and Tavarish whom I really find sympathetic all the way.
There is one thing you have to do before entering in portugal, please fill up the gas thank in spain, because the price of gasoline in portugal is astronomic!
Its a video in a video. INCEPTION
I have a 2006 CLS500 and i get 8.4 MPG and still I don’t complain
Sam get a Bentley conti. or even a spur. I own a Bentley and it has been super reliable over the last 4 years. A good used one has depreciated about as much as they are going to. So you could travel the world in style and be able to sell the thing for almost what you bought it for. Oh and they get good fuel milage to boot! Just my 2 cents. Cheers!
i assume you have a v8?
Should have mentioned that, yes it is a V8 that I have. Although a couple of my buddies that have w12's and get decent milage too if the keep their foot out of it.
Josh Johnson oh i was talking in terms of reliability lol, the w12 sounds awesome, but from what I understand that audi 4.0 is damn near bulletproof.
To be honest, you need something that isn't modern. Too much to go wrong if stuck in the middle of nowhere, as you said with the Ferrari. How about thinking outside the box, such as a Twisted tuned Defender.....
RS4? But I have feeling it will be a 911.
He actually did go with a 911
Id lobe to see you do the trip in a luso or an ff
I know that is not at all realistic budget nor repairablity choice.
But you would be in heaven.
That Testarossa was gorgeous.
