Teddy Atlas is one of the foremost boxing coaches and analysts in the world. This is an excerpt from THE ART OF DEFENSE available from DynamicStriking.com.
Dynamic Striking was started by a pair of black belts (Bernardo Faria & Michael Zenga) who feel that nothing is more important than improving your striking skills as much as possible in the least amount of time. Their aim was to create a shop for students interested in striking who don’t look at mixed martial arts as a sport - but as a lifestyle.

Is it just me, or do you love it when Teddy raises his voice out of the blue? 😅 Love this guy and all of his knowledge!

In a way we're all really lucky to live in the age of social media where we can hear wisdom like this whenever we want. I think I can speak for most of us saying I'm so thankful for these lessons from Teddy!

Thank you. I recently got hurt trying to slip a fast 1-2. I was slipping to my right and getting caught by the right straight.

My God!!, I said it then and after seeing these videos it reaffirms that if I had Teddy as a trainer back in 1997 when I fought for the U.S ISKA title at Steve Shepherds gym in West Palm Beach Florida the sky would have been the limit. I say that to say this to all the young fighters out there…Seek out Teddy. If you can’t relocate seek out the best trainers available. These are the ones as Teddy said earlier have coached generations of fighters with a proven track record. You can look a lifetime finding the best techniques to help you win but it only takes one time and one Teddy to fulfill your dream

I like that idea of slipping both punches by staying on the one side. If i have to cross my head to the otherside i just roll under. I slip then weave under. Thats very true about slipping right to left or vise versa, that's a good way to get caught. But slip and roll under is always effective too. I like this way in the video too. Its better to have more then one way of doing something in boxing.

Behind that red sheet he’s holding like 10 swords and every time the bull runs through he gets stabbed until he drops dead….I have zero respect for matadors
