- Unlike last offseason, South Carolina's women's basketball team won't be facing a litany of questions regarding what their squad will look like next Winter. However, one looming void that Dawn Staley and her staff will have to fill is the one left by center Kamilla Cardoso, who's set to move onto the WNBA. Does the answer reside on the current roster in Sania Feagin or Adhel Tac or could there be a transfer that could come in and take over the five-spot for the Gamecocks? Andrew breaks down all three options at Staley's disposal and the skillset of new South Carolina Football commit Brian Rowe!

I'm a huge Gamecock fan from Pennsylvania. I've been to William Bryce stadium three times the past two years and now planning trips to see Dawn Staley and the lady Gamecocks. I've been a huge Kamilla Cardoso fan for years. So glad she transfer to Gamecock nation
It’s the quite the experience Chris!

My middle daughter and I have been trying to get some Kamilla Cardoso items but can't find anything on the website

It is amazing the way Dawn keep her team together without losing players in the portal, knowing that 75% of her players could go anywhere in the country and start, tells you a lot about the trust and faith in Dawn Staley the players have for her, as far as who takes over for Kamilla, i believe its Sania Feagin 's to lose.
💰
Ain’t it though!!!
Coach does a Great Job with the Team Mentality!!!

You haven't done your research Dawn has 6'4 Joyce Edward's.. she is the #2 recruit nationwide.. She is Ready...
Talked about her on my last show… so yes, I have at least an idea of what the roster is going to look like. She’ll absolutely be in the rotation. Starting? We’ll have to wait and see.
Yea I don't see SC
lacking players at the 4 or 5 position...it will be about matchup's as to who is playing in a given game...my goodness to get Edwards is just knocking it out the park...she has a crazy wingspan too so 6' 3" is not really a issue when defending the rim etc long arms make a difference and she can play several positions she is a great pickup by the gamecocks!
Adhel Tac is 6’6 elite defender and has better post moves than Cardoso
I think she’s definitely more versatile as a defender, but offensively she will have to build her game up over time.
You have seen the starting lineup for South Carolina. The lineup used against UCONN, when Kamilla was out.
People are sleeping on Adhel Tac, she's gonna shock alot of people. She is ABSOLUTELY more skilled than Cordosa offensively.
@@virgilwimberly2071she’s more skilled but her body needs work because cats forget Cardoso was solid lol she puts me in the mind of Boston more then Cardoso
South Carolina is considered to be a basketball school now. The football program needs to up their game.
People forget we have adel tac. Dawn knows what she's doing. She recruited a masai warrior. We have probably the most physical ready female in the womens college league in ashlyn Watkins. We are team. We win with thee.❤🔥
Compared her defensive game to Aliyah Boston at an NCAA Tournament presser a few weeks back. Dawn wouldn’t throw those words out there lightly unless she believed it could be the case.
If anybody is dominating in the post it is South Carolina, there is depth at this position...Staley got this.
Tac” has time to develop especially if she is a quick learner ! She will surprise a lot of people
Thank you...she will be a great one..her signing is huge..
Joyce Edwards is coming in as well, also Ashlyn Watkins can play center
If this year did not show you that Dawn has this thing locked down. In terms of the team next year - there are looking good.
Don’t think I’d go into the portal unless i thought it was a definite need…
Just because of the Team chemistry and culture!
After all we are talking about Youngsters who’s confidence can be more effected/shaken than an old Man like me🤷♂️
Idk how she does it but…
Coach has done a Remarkable Job with the Team Chemistry!!!

Seems it’s been a bit since we’ve added a Super Talented WR🤔🤷♂️
Thanks Andrew and
Welcome Home
Young Man 👍

Go Gamecocks!!!
🏈🏆👍
The gamecocks are fine as far as bigs go Adhel Tac is better than anyone as far as ability and upside she is just a freshman.
Walker coming back for COVID year she 6.5
Walker was waiting her time. There was a few games that I saw that fire and fight in her. In most games she came in for mop up duty and her effort then was just going through the motions. But in a few games in the middle of the season I seen she had good movement and was a lot more than just a statue on the floor. If she decided to come back and decided to put in the work she can make an impact on this team.
What about 6'6 Imari Berry from UCONN? Limited play but I believe Dawn could develop her.
Amari Deberry out of UCONN. I wouldn't for 1 season. If South Carolina brought someone in for 1 year, a risky type pick, I'd bring in Raven's AAU teammate Treasure Hunt.
Treasure gave a very respectable effort guarding Aliyah Boston when she was a Kentucky, when she's actually a guard. So I could see her giving the required effort on the defensive end. She has three point range and good basketball skills. She just needs a commitment to fitness. Drop a few pounds so she can actually play guard. Have the quickness to guard the wing and get by players on the wing and so coaches won't be tempted to put her in the post.
@@xcharles4376 is she that bad?
@@arthurharris2059 I thought Deberry would be a good player when she was coming out of highschool. But UCONN had injuries and needed her and she couldn't get on the court. I just haven't really seen much from her at this level that says she should be a Gamecock.
It doesn't matter who starts at center Andrew its probably going to be a center by committee situation and that's actually better for our Ladies! And don't forget we have a 6/5 center thats been there all season and im thinking she will play alot more next year! Be safe my friends peace out and..... Go Gamecocks Go Ride Gamecocks Ride! Hello from Ft Madison Iowa today!
Ii think it should be open that Watson and Fagan can both play center. Just switch them off have them play 20 min each. Don’t say each comes off the bench. Our team is set up to be 2 teams not start vs bench
I’m not sure where the assumption is coming from that both of them will come off the bench or that I hinted they both could come off the bench. Watkins started the majority of the games Carolina played at the end of the season. Who knows if Kitts will remain in the frontcourt or move over to the wing?
Watson is a Forward. Walker and the freshe that was on the bench this season are centers.
Very well stated , Andrew you are reaching … trust the process
Two in particular, that are freshman and wouldn't have to start, but can grow and develop with the current group....Hawa Doumbouya 6'7 out of Maryland and Lety Vasconcelos 6'7 from Baylor! Lety is also from Brazil. Amari Deberry is also out there from Uconn. She's a z Jr., but didn't get much playing time. Any of these three would continue to give us depth without disturbing continuity in the starting lineup!
Some good names there
@Vcoop413 Thank you again for mentioning Lety Vasconcelos. I saw her in the Nike Hoop Summit game last year but lost track of her. I'm watching her available highschool highlights now. Lety Vasconcelos would be a great addition, great for her future and for South Carolina. Two summers with Molly and a year in the program she'd be pushing Watkins and Edward next season. Her senior year with Fulwiley, Tessa, Tac and Edwards, LOOK OUT!
They got jackson neismith winner high school
How you feel about Tarmari Key (Tenn) being that one transfer.
Tamari said she was done. It actually wouldn't nice if her health allows it.
Yes Dawn has a problem coming in regards to who wants and should play. I would love for sakima walker to be given a chance to somehow replace the titan kamila cardoso. We shall see.
Just don’t know about Walker. I think the best she’d get would be a spot in the rotation next season if she stuck around.
Who is S.Walker?
There will never be another Aliyah Boston just as there will not be another A’ja Wilson. Carolina has players on the team that can play center as shown by when Cardoso was not playing and we played UConn and won. she was not really missed because Carolina has too much weapons and to name a few; Joyce Edwards, Adhel Tac, Ashlyn Watkins, Sania Feagin or Bree Hall will do nicely. Sakima Walker too if she stay. We should be more worried about the room in the trophy case not who going to replace Cardoso which we going to miss next year. Well that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
👏👏
Tac is 6'6"
What about Sakima walker? She’s 6’5” and I think she’s coming back
Why she didn't play this year?
She played a few games. It's just how the minutes were spread @@GailPartee-hx3dc
Sania feagin isn't taller or more athletic than Ashley Watkins
As I said with a similarly-worded statement earlier:
Feagin in my opinion has the frame to play the five. Watkins I think is perfectly suited for the four.
Feagin to me it's not a good rebounder I hope Adhel Tac be ready for the new season. Watkins is also a better rebounder for South Carolina Gamecocks
What are your thoughts on Feagin’s rebounding? I know stats can be deceiving, but 10 rebounds per 40 minutes seems pretty damn good.
@@LockedOnGamecocks the only problem I have with 40 minutes for her she will probably get maybe 22 minutes a game. That's about 5 rebounds
Fagsn can start but she cannot fill in for Camilla. I would like her and another fill in for Camilla. She will have to work on her skills down low, the mid-range but her game IQ , specifically on defense will need to improve dramatically. She also will need to pass.
Hit the portal for a 1 year center.
Or get Tac 15 min a game if she can stay healthy. He keeps the ball up high.and she has long limbs
Ashlyn Watkins is so athletic. When Dawn was out several days and Ashlyn did great replacing her. If she doesn’t start she will go to the portal. Trust me.
Watkins is more athletic than Feagin yes, but Feagin is no slouch in that regard. Why couldn’t Watkins play the four and Sania play the five?
As long as she starts
Is Sania Fagan taller or more athletic than Ashlyn Watkins Andrew?
Feagin in my opinion has the frame to play the five. Watkins I think is perfectly suited for the four.
Your takes are always hot garbage. Ashlyn and Chloe are the starters next year. We were dominant in the games where they both started in Kamillas absence.
God wanted Dawn Staley to have 15 AAs, an easy bracket, and beat Clark half the time, forever. Glory to God.
Easy bracket? They already beat everyone to beat before they arrived for the tournament. Bracket would not matter
Would have loved to have seen them play UConn or LSU.
Dude, i generally enjoy your content but this specific video was really bad. You appear to be reaching for content just to sound knowledgeable about SC Women's Basketball. Not trying to be disrespectful or insulting. Just giving you honest feedback.
Well it was pretty rude dude. Not every day is a big news day.
That is down right rude 😂 everyone is talking about Kamilla gone so why would a daily podcast not talk about it?
Have you considered intelligent constructive feedback? Where you detail what the issue is and offer suggestions for improvement?
