Paul’s voice reverberated like thunder here.
Its good to SEE and HEAR the guys together again Paul, Eddie, Dennis, "Blue"... RIP guys✌️😢✌️
I REALLY enjoy these songs where each member takes a turn at singing lead lines. AWESOME!!!!
This was the group's, then current, five man lead concept, during their "Psychedelic Period", which was influenced by Sly, and the Family Stone! Check it Out! Ciao!!!
Paul was something soooo special and you don't want to take your eyes off of him.
I never can !!!!!
Rip David Ruffin (1941-1991) Eddie Kendrick (1939-1992) Dennis Edwards (1943-2018) Paul Williams (1939-1973) and Melvin Franklin (1942-1995) Temptations Forever ✊❤🎵
and not forgetting Ali-ollie woodson 1951-2010 ,
@@kamscott4201 blue is the shortest, Dennis is the tallest followed by Otis or David then Eddie then Paul
@@kamscott4201 I've been reading the books recently and on several occasions David Melvin Franklin (or English) was described as "stubby" which is funny because he was about 6ft even I guess that's short for a temptation 😄
@@kamscott4201 Eddie's my favorite, temptations forever!
@@kamscott4201 yes they were in a group called The Cavaliers
God Eddie was a BEE-U-TI-FUL MAN!!😍😍💋💋
This song actually shows how good the temps actually were! 🤙🏻
THE BEAUTIFUL TEMPTATIONS FOREVER !!!!!!!!
The actor which did played Paul Williams found it hard to remain in character
You wont find anyone these days or since that sounded as awesome and looked as happy as these remarkable artists as they did their thing.
ALL OF THEM COULD SING LOVED THE TEMPS
Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous...When have we seen so many men in a group who are dressed so elegantly, dancing with such exquisite choreography, and each one 'sporting' a head full of hair! Lord have mercy, we almost forgot how much hair e enhances a man's appearance. RIH David, Eddie, Paul, Melvin, Dennis.🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤🙏
Never forget the night I went to the Fiesta Club in Sheffield. Awesome when they came on stage sheer class ❤.
I enjoy all old school I still have my 33 3rds, 45, 75, cassettes, CDs. Enjoy life.
1:48 blew me away! WOW!
Answer to Renaissance Man
It was security that rushed Paul to the limo. It was rare that paul was seen he rest a lot while touring. But if you were lucky to get a picture or a autograph from Paul he was always a gentlemen.
I treasure my pictures of Paul and all the group members. Even though Eddie is my heart. Eddie, David, and Paul were my favorites. And David was so nice and a down to earth person. Always upbeat David adore his fans. We were important to him. It touched his heart during the reunion shows how a lot of fans he recognize still supported him.
David was such a humble human being.
I just want the Temptations fans who became fans after they were no longer in the group to know this. I know all fans have their own stories but for me I feel bless to have met them. I could write a book of my experiences. 👍
Tell us more. I loved them all but Eddie was my favorite🥰
So many memories.
The first time I met the Temptations was December 27th 1967. It was at WDAS radio station in Philadelphia. Eddie Kendricks was the first one they brought out into the lobby. I was so excited I almost knock his coffee out of his hand.
I apologize he was was gracious about it. A friend that I met that day her name is Helen Brown we are still friends today.
July 10 1968 Valley Forge Music Fair in Devon Pa. Right outside of Philadelphia.
Helen & I went to see the Temptations. We had got there a couple of hours before the show. So we walk around and saw this Motel named the Talley Motel
And I told my friend Helen I said I will laugh if I saw Eddie. And we turned the corner who did we see Eddie Kendricks.
I got so nervous I was walking so slow Helen ran. When I finally got there I spoke I was so nervous. And talked to us for a long time. Someone had told us that David was not with the group anymore and his last was July 8th.
David drove up and we ran over to him.
I said I can't wait to hear you sing I wish it would rain. He reply I not singing tonight. I said what's wrong you sick or something my exact words. Then he said I am not with the group no more.
We were upset even though Eddie was nice that day you could tell something was wrong. So then we realize that was a heartbreaker. So we went to the show and only four Temptations on stage. Some people walk out and the last song they introduce Dennis Edwards. He sang I Know I'm Losing You. He came over to us singing we did not want to listen to him. It took me a while to except Dennis but he was a good choice.
I wish things could have turn out differently and David, Paul, Eddie, Melvin & Dennis would be still touring. Talk more later of my journey about the greatest group in the world The Temptations.
Everybody looks very happy
Thank you temps💕
Great performance!!!
+Sandra Jones Hey! Send me a message on here when you get the chance. Let's catch up! :-)
I've elaborated on Paul's health too many times, ad nauseum on other posts? One performance from the "Temptations Show" posted on CZcams, showed Paul dancing, in his usual animated style, but people were accusing him of being drunk. During one part of the performance, Paul is standing in the rear of the set, with dim lighting, and suddenly people argued, believing that he must have been drunk, which accounted for the lighting. A minute later, when he performed, in bright lighting, then they accused him of messing up his dance steps. Otis had no contril over stage lighting on a TV special, and NO Paul wasn't drunk. Performing was often physically painful for him, due to the sickle cell anemia. The "Temptations" movie created a lot of "false" controversy, especially with latter day Temps fans. Why don't people get off of Paul's case already?! Paul's performance issues on stage, were during actual hour long concert tour performances, when he would get winded, not from three minute television segments. Richard Street sang from the wings to augment Paul's background vocals, because of the blood disease illness, NOT because he was DRUNK. Paul was struggling to perform, due to depleted oxygen in his blood. Sickle cell victims frequently experience physical crises, which are very painful, to joints, and organs, and can lead to several days hospitalization. Back when Paul was alive, sickle cell sufferers rarely lived past age 30. Paul became ill in his late 20s. Medical treatment wasn't as advanced back then, and blood transfusions were common to treat the disease. I have a close friend who's lived with it since childhood. Except for one single account on a tour date, mentioned, in Otis' book, Paul was not falling down drunk on stage, or embarrassing himself, any more than Ruffin was witnessed performing while high as a kite. Give it a rest people. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
renaissanceman165 Tell it. That jive mini-series was wrong in so many instances I barely can stand looking at it. Great acting by all actors but because this is a real group, the story should not be as fictional as it was.
Thank You so much for telling the truth. Otis should have told the truth.
People always believe the worst. I always felt in my heart that something else was wrong with Paul. But people did not talk about
Certain things back then. I dislike when people said he was drunk.
In 1970 on June 27th at the Spectrum in Philadelphia Paul almost collapse on staged. And the newspaper wrote that he was intoxicated. But the night after the show we went to the door backstaged. And they rushed Paul to the car. There was no smell of alcohol. I was so close to Paul I could have stepped on his foot. I told my friend Helen something else is wrong with Paul he is sick. Otis made Paul look bad in the movie.
But us true Temptations fans we know better. I do not watch the movie there are alot of things said that just was not true.
I am so glad New Edition were still around to tell their story.
God bless you Paul and Eddie, David, Dennis, Melvin
@@maxineboatwright2012 Thank you. That move was FAKE on so many accounts, including how it distorted David's life. Otis was the least talented, and he was a hater. Now he's naive enough to sport around in clown-looking outfits that make him look like a giant Bozo the clown. Can you believe he thinks he's 'all that'? Just like nobody went to to the shows to see Otis, long-time Temptations fans are not trying to hear hater Otis.
@@sandraatkins2539 Thank You Sandra you hit the nail with the hammer.

Best live performance I've come across awesome, they gave us so many awesome songs
This is real music today's music couldn't compare to music back then I wish I could go back like you wouldn't believe!!

" I can by anything thT money can buy"😍😍😩
Eddie Kendricks was so cute
Don’t be fooled by the Temptations Movie It lies about a lot of things. Paul occasionally drunk alcohol but he was NOT drunk, and he was not an alcoholic. He had sickle cell anemia that’s why he seemed intoxicated.
It was even said he was never a drinker before they started touring-- his drinking was likely self medicating from the pain he was in. It was really sad they played him like that. He deserved so much better.
@@hatshepsutiv How does that make me naive? It was never revealed as far as my knowledge, that he had cirrhosis. As far as anyone has documented, he had sickle cell.
@@anaityketihw He did become an alcoholic in an attempt to numb the physical pain, it's documented in the other Temptations book, they cleaned his clothes separately due to the smell of alcohol and raided his stash of liquor.
I've been watching a lot of videos, I've never seen him drunk on stage like the movie, Paul was great!!! They let a good one go, and when he went solo, they freaked out because they knew he would've buried the temptations. After Paul, Eddie and David left, it started going down hill. Otis could never keep anybody, nobody was good enough. He kept it going for himself
And in them days he couldn't get the help that we can probably get now
why do people think Paul was drunk on every performance, smh
I'm serious, why think that, he's not drunk. The guy had health issues
Tunes342 he was get n down 😎🤣he didn't miss a beat what ever he was on lol lol 😍🤩
U can get off him with that Bull🤣😪
Because Otis did that damn movie and made it seem like Paul was a raging alacholic

The LEGENDARY Iconic Temptations
Eddie was so fine!
@00:33 Eddie missed that step but don’t care love you Eddie 🤣
What a song 🎵🎶🎹💯
Thank you for posting this song and other motown hits you have posted;-);-);-):-):-):-)
Thanks for sharing!
Here's a first hand example of how much the "Temptations" movie influenced many latter day, and younger Temps fans. Someone once told me that he saw a TV clip of the group performing, after which Paul is seen making a hasty exit from the stage, on the verge of vomiting. No such video footage exists, or has ever existed. But, based on the movie, again, people see what they WANT to see, point blank. Unless he was outright lying, I believe the person must have watched the group performing "Runaway Child, Running Wild", where the guys run off the stage to hide behind the stage props. It's here on CZcams. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
👋 HI!
Remember me, Ms. Lady? I'm Eddie's girlfriend. I love Eddie. You and I and Linda Hines used to have wonderful conversations about the Tempts. You were the Temptations expert. I miss y'all so much. I spend more time on Instagram these days. Are you over there? You would love it, and they would love you! 🤗
@@Ms.L2803 Hey, Ms. L!!! Yes, Of course I remember you. It's been a little over a year since we chatted last! You were popping up all over the place. Lol. You are "definitely" the number one Eddie fan! When we last chatted, you said you were "looking forward to my next installment" , on all things Temptations. Yes, I have an Instagram account. I'm not on there much, but I might check it out more, now that you mentioned it. It's not all about IG models. It's good to hear from you. I'll see you over there, I'm sure! Dennis is my favorite, with Paul next. Seems like Otis could do a pretty good lead when he wants to.
Aren’t they beautiful?
AINT NOBODY COMING TO SEE YOU OTIS!!
Otis gotta lil loud at the oh I part didnt he??!! Like we heard you!!! Ugh!! Anyways... Perfect as always!! Love me some Eddie!!
Dannon Wilder that was Paul Williams not Otis
Paul Williams……not Otis.
Paul Williams at 1:18 ...says it all...
Was never a fan of the live versions they’ve done of this song. However, this one sounds better than a few I’ve seen them do on other shows. IMO they can never top the original version.
This version is way too fast. the original is much better.
Definitely some cook cats.
1:18 look
At Paul
And 0:17
WOW! I'M NO. 666! WOW!
Where do they say that?
That step at 1:19
Paul kinda messed up at 0:59
SKD_ Cascade Paul was sick with sickle cell anemia...it’s okay.
so did eddie 0:35
difficult to sing hehe
No disrespect but Paul Williams was intoxicated here
He was a troubled man, but he has a beautiful voice.
nation of millions... i thought the same thing.
He was not intoxicated....The man was dealing with Sickle Cell Anemia...He traveled by plane with an oxygen-tank by his side.
He was dealing with sickle cell anemia - and he was intoxicated. It was a highly flawed, desperate effort at self-medication. Very tragic life.
Don't believe the movie. Paul had sickle cell anemia and yes he would drink to help with the pain. He was still a great man and gave everything he had up until his demise. Paul was the heart and soul of the group.
Otis seems like that guy you just want to tell fuck off…
