- In this video I am building a custom made base without an airlock entrance on a breathable planet.
Watch me put together some storage boxes into a full structure as well as some other items to make the roof.
I will be guiding you how to build it and I will end the video with a finished tour!
Enjoy!

if cargo containers weren't so tall, you could try using them as a makeshift floor. But yah, Starfield really needs foundations, stairs and walls. Preferably ones you can snap base pieces to.
Bethesda: yeah so there’s no walls for base building.
Shawzzo: that sounds like a challenge
You’re not wrong haha 😂
Easier way to always align storage walls at 90° is to continue the first level of storage boxes all the way to where you want the next wall to begin if that makes any sense. Then delete two or three back and now that the one at the end is in the perfect spot instead of sliding it back and forth to align it, all you do is rotate in place until you get a perfect 90° rotation. Now you should be able to build around both directions from the first wall and the second with no gaps at all. Then repeat the same process, it takes a bit of back tracking and planning ahead, but it works 100% of the time.
The amount of patience this requires is insane. I barely have the patience to set a chair next to a table properly. Cheers to you, sir, and your outstanding builds!
This is really creative, I wouldn’t of thought to do this! Good build yet again 😊
Super well done, great job!
Very creative well done
Shawzzo: you are doing amazing job. It reminds me of other games I use to play that made you think outside the box. Keep it up, Maybe, a settlement that incorporates both of your process.
Excellent job at your design, and decoration. It's absolutely brilliant 😃
If they can have great building options in Stranded Deep, you would think they would give us walls and roofs and floors.
Also I've seen 'dream homes' in starfield made completely out of the luxury white shelf units. Including a staircase to the second level made out of floating shelves. People are being creative like you, around Starfield's limitations. I love it. Nice build!
Nice work mate. Hopefully at some point they'll give us access to assets that clearly already exist in game so we don't have to use airlocks, but until then, this is an awesome compromise.
Nice, gave me some ideas too 👍😁
You can also build inside a industrial animal husbandry building. It's 2 stories and large enough for a player home.
I love it! Great creativity and awesome use of existing assets! I am going to do this on Epsilon Eridani II. That's where Halo reach was. It's also a breathable planet with lots of different biomes. Keep kicking ass man
Remember Reach
Sweet ty
Finished the game, loved it, never built an output. 😅
Can you build storage boxes in a square like a 5x5 grid that all snap together?
Great build is all the decoration static? 👏👏👏👏👍
Thank you! Some are some aren’t
Try to include the stairs from the landing pad somehow, so like a building attached to the landing pad that has stairs inside to a second floor as well
you could snap stairs to any of those hallways and have a tiny interior at least have your bed inside
Noice! Floor mats may flatten the ground? o7
A couple of my settlements keeps the airlock open both ways i dont know why but there no mods or anything...
Haven't gotten that far in outpost building yet,but are canopies and gazebos a thing in the base game's outpost system?
Because they're practically in every generated and curated outpost already.
If not, I could see it being added as a DLC or mod and the building materials would be relatively simple, IMO; a variation of metals and textiles depending on the design.
But yeah, buildable walls, floors, and ceilings would be a welcome thing to me. You expect me to build sentry turrets to defend myself, but I can't build a basic wall to fence in my outpost?
Why not use the walkways stacked for the walls as well then you could add stuff to them. I didn't try it was just thinking about it so I thought I would say something. Or the cabinets you use to divide inside for the lowest level then the tubes on top of them. I going to try it and see what I get.
cool Idea. thx for sharing. Abo is out 😛
This the type of stuff bethesda making us do to just build a base with no airlock, I hope they add more base building stuff its the most lacking area of the game imo sadly, and thats what I loved about fallout 4 so much. You did a great job with what you had man, looks awesome but I dont have the patience for that lol
That's the problem, you want something from fallout 4 that majority of the fans complained about. At this point I'm not sure what people want from devs anymore
@@Cibbic The complaints in fallout 4 on base building was how the game was forcing people to have to base build for main story line when a lot of folks don't want to spend time on that sort of thing.
The issue here is the lack of options being given for those who want to play with outposts. The annoying part is a lot of the assets are in game. Their are doors and even premade habs that player's cant make but do exist in game right now.
So whet!
Good job. Very sad that it takes this kind of effort to build a structure.
Were you a sims god in a past life?
"planet"
I don't understand why you thought you needed to line up those boxes like that. You know that they will snap on all four sides right?
